1. Chocolate is anti-aging
Chocolate slows the aging process due to powerful antioxidants found in raw cocoa called 'polyphenols'.
You'll be surprised to know that the polyphenols in raw cocoa contain twice the antioxidants of red wine and three times the antioxidants of green tea.
2. Chocolate makes you happier
We all know that a bar of chocolate can make us feel better, and the good news is that this isn't solely down to comfort eating or addiction. Studies have shown that regular cocoa consumption makes you calmer and more contented.
3. Chocolate slows cancer cell growth

But before you rush out and clear the chocolate from the shelves of your local store, bear in mind that the milk solids in milk chocolate cancel out the benefits. So make sure the label on your chocolate bar says 70% cocoa content (or higher).
4. Chocolate reduces the risk of male stroke
Chocolate consumption reduces the risk of stroke in men. Interestingly, the Swedish research that discovered this used mainly milk chocolate during the trial. I still recommend only eat dark though, as the overall benefits far outweigh that of milk chocolate.
5. Chocolate makes you leaner
Ok, so that's exaggerating just a little bit, but a study conducted in San Diego showed that people who ate more chocolate had a lower BMI than those who ate chocolate less frequently.
So, you see, chocolate isn't necessarily bad for you at all. In fact, it's an all-round beneficial treat!
