PCOS & Going for Laparoscopy Op

Hi i have PCOS and have been going to fertility clinic from around the start of 2011 but the doc wanted me to loss 4st before he started any treatments etc which i have done and now he wants me to go for this op to check my tubes etc as my periods and stuff are regular every month... has anyone had this op done ? im having it on wednesday cant wait but nervous of the outcome also!

yep - I had it and it was really helpful. For me it showed that my tubes were clear, and also showed that I had dermoid cysts which they removed. For my friend it showed a problem with one of her tubes which has now been resolved, so it was really useful for her too. It's GREAT that you've lost the weight, and that'll help with TTC and with the pregnancy too! And it's Great that you have the right specialist support going through the right process with you. It all sounds very promising :) I've been through all this, and I've just had my 12 week scan and there's a healthy little baby in there :) It took a few years to get here, but it's been worth it :)

Good luck x and don't worry about the test - just leave it to them - they know what they're doing - it's part of the solution, not part of the problem, so it's all a step in the right direction :)

PCOS & Going for Laparoscopy Op

Hi, I too have PCOS and had a large dermoid cyst on my Left ovary that was removed June last year.
I have a 6 year boy and suffered a missed miscarriage three years ago.
I am starting the Lipotrim TFR tomorrow to shed the lbs before TTC again.
Good luck with your operation and never give up your dreams !
We were told I wouldn't be able to conceive and I have twice :)
It's worth all the heart ache x x

Re: PCOS & Going for Laparoscopy Op

I had this procedure done in 2011. It's uncomfortable but bearable and definitely worth doing to check if your fallopian tubes are patent xx

thanks a lot girls for all the positive comments i had it done on the 28th of march and everything went great tubes were all clear and they didnt find any other problems would he have said about cysts on my ovaries if there had of been any ? i didnt really have much pain afterwards either i was cleaning away and trying to walk my dogs as normal and my fiance had to make me stop lol... im back to see my consultant in june not sure what hes gonna do next what else is there apart from tablets...Enough thats fantastic news im sure you are delighted :D u deserve it after all youve went through x

Hiya I also had this procedure done last week :) I found it rather uncomfortable but mine was followed up with an ultrasound scan on my ovaries to check for any cysts, luckily I have none, so no reason for my infertility apart from no periods :-\ I also have my follow up in June, hoping to b started on Clomid as I had before xx

Awww hope your ok now and feeling a lot better! I only had some shoulder pain for like part of a day or so and that was it... I'm not sure what they are gonna give me in june since my periods are regular every month and my tubes are clear! I hope june is a lucky month for you and me :) x

have you tried ovulation sticks - just because you're having regular periods doesn't mean you're ovulating - might be worth picking up some tests from boots and using them each day from around 13 days after the start of your period for about a week.. each month for a couple of months or three so you can see if you are ovulating and roughly when... they should also do blood tests which test this too.. just don't get too hung up on the ovulation tests if you do them.. treat them as a three month project and then put stop when that's given you a bit more information.. people I know who have used them as a method for actually timing sex and to get pregnant seem to get themselves in a stress, demanding their partner has sex NOW!! and getting anxious if their partner then, understandably, doesn't feel in the mood! ha! It's surprising how many times I've come across people falling in to this mistake... ... but it's still useful to know if you're ovulating, and if so, roughly how long after you start your period this is - once they kick-started me ovulating, I was ovulating around day 19 after the first day of each period, so we're not all the same and it's not around day 14 for us all - useful to know..

Hi there Danielle. I'm in same boat as you. I've got PCOS and have been for that scan, which was very useful. Have been on various fertility drugs but now they told me to lose just over 2 stone, I've lost 1 and a half so close now. Would love to hear from anyone else out there who's in same boat. Xx
