Hi everyone, just thought i would introduce myself.

I am 23 years old, was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 18 when i finially decided to go to the doctors about the fact i had not started my periods and had excess body hair.

I currently weigh 19 and a half stone and the doctors will no longer help me.

When i was first diagnosed i was informed i have the worst case they have seen in some time, my hormones are all over the place, i am covered in spots, i still have insulin resistance after trying many different pills and i have a full beard, hair all down my back, my chest, stomach, legs, toes, feet, bum....basically everywhere. Lucky for me i am a red head and most of my hair is fair so not incredibly obvious.

Well me and my partner want a baby now and we cant even get help until i am atleast 13 stone.

I really want to lose weight for myself as well as being able to get pregnant. I am a very insecure person so i guess weight loss would benefit my partner too.

anyways, i am basically here to find some motivation and find out what you have all done to aid weight loss. This week i started going to the gym and pool 3 times a week and tomorrow the diet begins but i am willing to listen to any advice and try anything.

id also like to know does the hair start to disappear when you lose weight because that is also one thing i really want rid of...it makes me feel masculine =(

Hi darling,

I weigh the same as you, and losing weight to have a baby.

research laser removal for light coloured hair. You can find good deals in ******* type websites so can get a good deal.

If you can afford it, do it. Best thing I ever did.

The periods will definitely get better the more weight you lose. Mine have after losing 3 stones.

Here to support you if you need it x

Hiya, I'm also in a similar situation but weigh more than you, I'm 22. I was diagnosed with pcos at 14/15 and doctors have never been helpful. They're quick to put me on contraceptive pills (which haven't benefited me at all) but never really offer support or advice. I was never really phased by it until recently me and my partner started trying for a baby. Ive been to the doctors twice really but they never explain what I should be doing or what can happen. I feel completely lost. I hope weight loss will help too.
Good luck xxx

Hiya :)

I'm just starting my weight loss journey so can't really offer any advice as I haven't seen a loss as of yet! But just wanted to say good luck with your own journey, we both have roughly the same amount of weight to lose so I hope you find the motivation you are looking for :) xx
