How you guys doing on the weight gain side.....

Well weighed myself today and have gained 2 stone..........only gained 2 stone in my entire pregnancy with my son so figure I will have a good bit to loose when I have the baby.....funny enough I am wearing size 12 maternity clothes but they do add extra material in the legs and bum and of course tum - so they are much bigger than standard Size 12......

Anyhoo, not going to focus on it too much...wondering how you guys are doing........

Not sure how much I've put on, think it was about that by your stage..

Not worrying about it now, I can't do anything to burn anything off so will worry about it when bean is born! Lost my appetite a little since been in bed so that's probably a blessing!

Bea - good new for an active baby! I as well Cant wait to hear who your lil bump is!

Sunflower...sorry to hear bout the pain...its all worth it and will be over soon...

I actually was feeling poorly all day yesterday...all crampy and achy down there...went to delivery suite at 8pm...they did the full check and everything was fine (no preterm labor that is!)Sent me home with co-comidol (spell?)...but havent needed it today! Verdict: something to due with the ligaments stretching and my c-section scar from last year...
anyways...just was happy to see her moving all about!

this week is almost done girls!!!!!!!!hang in there!

I hate headaches -- cuz I have to avoid the paracetamol due to the heparin and aspirin thinning my blood -- Make sure you stay well hydrated (I have realized some of my headaches are in fact due to dehydration)...glad you are benifiting from the support belt.

Diet: Cambridge Diet
Have a good massage Bea, hubby bought me a pamper day for christmas (well, promised rather than bought!) and I'm so looking forward to having that, will be a nice treat once the baby's born and I can get out of the house again!

Nina - gosh, must have been a bit scary ay? Glad everything turned out ok in the end - and at least you got to see your labour ward! Might take a little of the "fear of the unknown" out of it when you go in to labour now ay? I used to get quite dehydrated at work if I wasn't careful - realised because, as you say, I was going home with headaches.. Started taking a 2l bottle of water in to work and making sure I drank at least that, if not more (12.5hr shift) and they all stopped!

Sonkie - glad the support belt is working..

I've had my parents down this weekend and it has really really taken it out of me, even though I've been in bed for most of it.. Even the pethidine hasn't quite got rid of the pain this time.. I've got my mw coming out on thurs and I'm really going to sit down (well, lie down ) and discuss birth options with her - at the moment I've potentially got just under 16 weeks to go (if I go overdue which, with a first baby, is entirely possible) and I honestly can't see how I'd get through it and still be in any state to labour.. I'm sleeping for between 2 and 4 hours a night in total but only getting 20-40 minute snatches at a time and I'm utterly exhausted already.. What I'd be interested to know is whether they would recommend an elective section or induction of labour and, if so, when.. But then if I go down the elective section route I'm then commiting myself to 6 weeks recovery and possible sections in the future (which may or may not be a blessing considering spd gets worse with each pg).. If I go for an IOL then I may well still end up with a section anyway but at least I'd have an epidural sited before the induction really got going so it wouldn't be too bad.. I dont know if my pelvis would cope with labour at the moment - something people have been gently intimating to me for the last few weeks... So a lot to think about - and chat to my mw on thurs.. I think she's going to most likely end up sending me in to talk to one of the consultants about all my options - will be a fun trip in an ambulance! Despite all this I'm still reasonably bright most of the time until the pain gets really bad, at which point everything seems so hard and frustrating.. But then Bean kicks away merrily and reminds me it's all worth it, even if thre's still a while to go yet..

Thanks for listening guys - and if I ever moan too much on here then slap me with a wet fish - sonkie, you live near enough to come and do it in person!!!

xx

Hi Sunflower....thanks for sharing what you are going through - it good to hear from you and really admire you keeping in good spirits (hold the wet fish slap yet Sonkie!!!)....I wont even try to give you advise as all pregancies, labours and birth are individual and personal.....however my experience of c-section wasnt that bad..honestly!! (had an emergency one after 14 hours of labour as baby's got very stressed....)

I spent 5 days in hospital and went grocery shopping on the first day I went home (with hubby with me of course), went to lunch each Sunday after the c-section, hubby and I made love after week 2, went to hubbys passout (hes a fireman) at day 9 post birth.....and went shopping each week/walk each day either around the corner Spar or to local coffee shop etc...the only thing I couldnt do for the 6 weeks was drive (as I was advised not to by hospital).....oh and decided I would include dusting and hoovering in that 6 week ban too...... My current consultant has decided given the sequence of events leading to my c-section has recommended another one this time....which I am expecting to be even better as I wont have the 20 hour per labour and 14 labour to "get over" as was as the shock of a emergency section.

Best of luck with the mwife/advice etc and hope you manage to get some more rest to keep your spirits high!!
