Big Bird
Hope you don't mind me starting this thread Saz but I though with two minis babies here now and two more due in a matter of weeks we should make a start!

So here's my little man - Seth Rowan, born on 15th December at 10.30am, weighing 7lbs 8oz. He's got long legs and although he is a little less chunky than we thought he'd be, he's still a good weight. He has lots of dark hair too which I am so happy about!

Birth story to follow when I get it all straight in my head ;) xxx

i don't mind Sarah, congratulations on the birth of Seth, hope you are ok. i didn't start. the thread because for some reason my phone is not letting me upload a photo of my munchkin, and yesterday callum started with chicken pox and im terrified Freddie is going to get them because i don't know the effect it will have on him, callum is at the docs now while its closed for dinner so waiting while they get back to see what the doc has to say.

anyway, my boy Freddie reuben was born at 5:55am on 14-12-13 weighing 6lb 14 he is perfect.

Nooo Cai!! You share your birth story!!! I think anyone who has had a baby should (regardless of when he/she was born) because as a pregnant woman myself, I'm so interested to hear all of the different things that can go on in labour etc - makes me feel a little more prepared (if that's even possible!) about all the different outcomes and I'm SURE this thread will help any future mums-to-be who visit this part of minis. xxx

In fact, I think this thread and the due dates & pregnancy advice thread should be made stickys - admin? :)

I think they would all be used by future expectant mums xx

Congrats Sarah on the birth of Freddie too :)
Cai noooo definitely not old news we definitely want the birth stories :) xx

i went in after taking callum to school on Friday, didn't get seen till about half 12, when they put the first tablet up, nothing happened they said to watch for period pains, i had nothing, walked around the hospital to try and get things moving, i was due another tablet at half 6, at half 5 i started with slight period pains but when they checked me my cervix was still thick and long so they put the second one up, and the midwife sweeped and stretched my cervix, i could have hit her because that hurt lol. my contractions started straight away and were coming really thick, i was on the fetal heart and contraction monitor and she said i was hypersensitive to the pessary so tried to fish it back out, i was 1-2cm she couldn't find it, it had dissolved but she sweeped and stretched me again, i really could have knocked her out for hurting me, she said my cervix still had loads of thinning out to do, she was going to send me back on the antenatel ward, i got up to go and the contractions got more painful so she strapped me back on monitor, and i had gas and air, i was there contracting for about 7-8 hours then another midwife came in to see to me, she checked me and i thought after all those hours i would be about 8cm, i was 3!! i could have cried, but she then broke my waters, it was 4:30am, the contractions got really strong so had gas and air again, i asked for pain killer injection she didn't want me to have it, so i said if im still 3cm i need it because i can't cope for hours like this, she checked me and said i was 9 nearly 10, i said i need the injection! :) she went off to get it and i said to Carl, I NEED TO PUSH! he went to get her and she said push if you need to, i started pushing and 4 pushes later he was out :) it took 11 hrs to get to 3cm and once she broke my waters it took 1.25 hrs to go from 3cm to him coming out :) and im so in love with my 2 little men :)

Aw Sarah, he's gorgeous!! Sounds like you were in a hell of a lot of pain but worth it all :) it's good to hear an induction story where, other than taking ages, things have gone well. I'm going to remember the water breaking part and persuade my midwife to do mine as early as they can if it helps ;-)
Did you have to stay in hospital?x

Aww congrats to both!
I'm sure both your little boys will go on to be heart-breakers! :)
Am looking forward to hearing all about your birth stories.....from a professional perspective but also a nosy mummy one! Xxx

i got back on the ward with him about 8am once id had a bath etc, and had to stay there till the doc could have a look at him, he was mega busy so didn't get to look at him till about 5pm then we were allowed home, induction was more painful than the natural birth i had with callum and callum was 3lb heavier than Freddie, it was really quick once my waters broke but the pain was a lot worse too, i couldn't have done much longer than that hour and half but think its because of how fast i dilated, so the pain was more intense, i wasn't going to put how painful it was with being induced but like I've read if we all write our storys then woman can compare etc and every birth is different, with callum i had no pain relief till i was getting stitched up then had gas and air and i found his birth so much easier, but once it was over and freddie was in my arms he was worth every second of the pain.x

I'd heard it's far more painful with an induction so thank you for being honest. I'll get the epidural on my list ;-) I think it's probably the intensity plus , to me, if you have to be induced either your body or baby isn't ready but sometimes needs must. I hope we can go home the same day, I don't fancy a night in hospital away from Tom. I want it to be the three of us at home together. You've done brilliantly and you've got a gorgeous little man there. After Freddie and Seth (and Cai's Stevie) we've all got a lot to live up to in the cuteness stakes!!! Xx
