Hi all. I have done slimming world before and went to group. When I found out I was pregnant I asked for advice but never got it so I stopped going.

I was telling the midwife this and she was keen for me to try again. So I have started doing slimming world at home.

Anyone else out there who is doing this? Any advice or anyone want to join me? Would be good if we can stick together and share stories, tips and support. Xxx

Hello. Firstly big congratulations! I am really tempted to start slimming world too. At my booking in appt my bmi was 30.1 as I put on about a stone before I fell pregnant. I've put on another 6 lbs since booking in appt and am terrified of ballooning! I am on holiday but back next week and seriously tempted to start there and then. Is it easy to follow? X

Very easy to follow Hun and you can eat certain foods freely. I can explain it to you if you like but won't ramble on if you don't want me to lol. A friend of mine lost weight in pregnancy carrying twins so it can be done. Having said that just check with your gp or midwife before you do start x

If you've time to give me a quick run down that would be great pls. Is it just like normal slimming world but with extras for the baby? I just need something to keep me in check. I put on four stone with my first and was lighter to start with. I desperate not to do that again! If I can get away with putting on another stone and a half whilst still being healthy I would be over the moon! You must be due march too? I am 13 weeks today. Eek! Is this your first? X

Exactly the same they say do extra easy as it's not as restrictive then you can have an extra a choice and an extra b choice. I don't use the cereals on their list I have whatever I fancy cos cereal is one oft biggest pregnancy food love. Yes this will be first born we lost one last year so it feels even more special. I'm 12 weeks on Sunday it's amazing being pregnant I love it xx

Hi ladies I'm planning on starting SW on Monday doing it on my own and I'd appreciate the support. I've just found out I'm pregnant and think I'm approx 3-4 weeks! This is my first and I ave also done SW before and lost 2stone.

Aww I'm really happy for you! Have you had first scan yet? You must be so excited! Thanks for the run down. I'm going to start when I'm home. Also going to try to get more active. Midwife told me not to ride my horse which is pretty rubbish so have to find something less risky I guess! I love being pregnant too. Missed my bump so much after my son was born! Pleased that nausea had finally gone. Did you have much sickness? Your due date must be March too. Are you going to find out what you're having?

Congratulations to you too big_mamma! X

Thanks Icandoit and same 2 u both! I'm on the same situation with the horse riding but need to start swimming/walking. Going to bed now tiredness is bad at the minute xxx

Hi big mamma and congrats. Give me the nudge when you start I'll support you with it think it's always easier when you have folks behind you.

Icandoit81 yes we have had 3 scans the first was a reassurance scan after the loss last time but it was too early to see a heartbeat so went back the following week and there it was flickering away. That changed my life seeing that heart beating. Then we had another on Wednesday due to a little scare but everything is fine and babe has grown loads in 3 weeks!! The latest scan has proper got me going now because it looks like a baby I can see it's spine and jaw line it's unreal. Haven't had the official dating scan yet so that shouldn't be too far away. We will find out what we are having definitely. How about you?xx

Aww big_mamma hopefully tiredness will fade a bit soon. Just rest when you can!

rhonda I have had three scans too. First at 5 weeks due to scare second at nearly 7 which put dates back then another on 24th which put me back to where I thought I was! Am so excited! Yes I think we will find out too. I don't think I can wait the whole nine months as I'm too impatient!

I can't Wait to start sw! Feel so large already! Are you finding it easy? X

Been on it 2 days now thankfully I crave the healthier stuff anyway at the moment been feeling a bit nauseous lately and not counted the ginger biscuits lol. I aim to lose 1.5 stone but that's my aim not had that confirmed by midwife. We will get there if we all stick together xx

My first scan put is back a week and a half second scan I gained a few days but still a week behind and this one bought me right back in line with lmp I'm glad it's caught up I was panicking a bit trying to think why it could be behind. After the last scan the nurse said it's a big baby but how can it be big if it's measuring spot on lol. This dating business doesn't make a lot of sense to me x

I know! Nightmare isn't it! I think it's guess work to a degree! My dates with my first changed loads...and I was told he was a big baby...he came 3 weeks early according to their dates and was 6lb 9! Quite glad we have the winter months when heavily pregnant. I do feel for women who are ready to pop in the hot weather! It's so exciting isn't it but still nerve wracking. I can't wait til I can feel baby move! I thought my first trimester symptoms were done but I have super sore boobs again now! I'd quite like to reach full term either the weight I am now or maybe a stone down but a healthy baby is priority so will have to see how I go. My first midwife said I shouldn't do slimming world whilst at same time told me I have to have the tests at 20 weeks for diabetes I think. That was enough to scare me into doing something! If midwife still won't ok it I will try go as I don't want to go crazy but I want a healthy pregnancy and easy labour! So scary isn't it! Have you decided what drugs you want in labour yet? X

I know what you mean about feeling for those who are heavily pregnant in summer. I have always thought that and I'm glad I caught when I did. If midwife doesn't agree get a second opinion. Slimming world is recognised and approved by the main body of midwives (can't remember what it's called but the official one) maybe she doesn't think you need to lose any. I'm going to try and avoid epidural in labour hoping to just get by with gas and air. I'm always meditating anyway so I'm hoping that will help. I'm not sure on other pain killers I haven't read enough about them yet xx

I'm hoping to just have gas and air this time round. Last time I remember the midwives at birthing centre telling me to take a couple of paracetamol and have a warm bath...it did nothing. Went to main hospital and had epidural as he was back to back, but was born within four hours of getting to hospital! (I had gone into labour the previous day though). Nervous about signs to look for in labour as last time I thought they were braxton hicks! Naive huh?! Argh I am sooo excited already and seem to have forever left! Have you thought of any names yet? I can only think of boys ones but pretty sure I'll end up with a girl! X

You live and learn Hun the fact you have already experienced labour I'm sure you won't confuse it this time round lol. I have also struggled for girls names and can't get excited over girls clothes either so I wonder if it's a boy. If it is then it will be Oliver David Francis. We finally decided on Amelia Frances for a girl xx

Ha let's hope I am a bit more clued up! Messaged a local slimming world group today and am going along to a meeting next week for a chat. She will give me forms for midwife to sign too so I finally feel like I'm doing something proactive! Also going home tomorrow so no more crossaints and crisps which will hopefully make me feel less of a blob! How are you getting on? X

I have struggled most days to stick to the plan as I usually do with any diet lol. But what I have eaten has been mainly healthy. As long as I don't go too mad I think I'll be ok. Had midweek weigh in and not put any on which is good. My tummy looks quite good my shape is changing now and in certain clothes I look pregnant and not fat!! Lol. Hope you get on ok at group. If nothing else I feel better and more energetic for cutting down on the bad stuff xx

That's my thinking! There's a pregnancy group in the slimming world bit of this site too. I found it the other day by accident! May be helpful on our plan to be yummy mummies! Xx
