Got my BFP :)

Hi Everyone, I'm Claire. 35 and been TTC for about 18 months - started using OPK's just after Christmas. AF due 5 days ago so last night did a test (just a Tesco cheapy one). I've done quite a few tests over recent months, my periods aren't the most regular thing in the world so was expecting a negative. the only nagging thing that made me think i might be pg, is that my boobs have been painfully tender for what feels like ages.

Anyway, i did the test and stared at the window and very gradually a line appeared. Definately a line there, but only about half as dark as the control line. My OH confirmed that I wasn't just seeing things and there was definately a line! I did another test this morning as soon as I woke up cos I thought I might get a darker line cos of the hormones being stronger in the morning, it was still feinter than the control line but again - there's no two ways about it i've defo got a line (the test does state that both lines do not need to be the same colour for a positive)

So yes, I'm about 99% sure I have a little bun in my oven. I'm going to get a clearblue tonight so that I can see how many weeks I am (even though according to my calculations I'm 4), and I've made an appointment to see my GP on Monday Morning.

I had to come and tell someone on here... before it burst out of my mouth at work!

Congratulations :)

I've just tested positive a couple of days ago too. Will be my first God willing :)

Our doctors said to choose a hospital and get self referred for the midwife, so I've done that tonight. Said they'll be in touch within 3 weeks.. Doesn't feel right not going to the doctor ASAP tho..

Congratulations to you too! :) :) Will be my first as well...

I did the clearblue last night and that was positive too, I'm over the moon. Yeah upon investigation I realise I probably don't need to see my GP (so clueless!), need to ring my surgery and explain the situation and see what they say, and will probably cancel my GP appointment at the same time. Will do that at lunchtime, it's difficult cos I work in an open plan office where there's no privacy at all and obviously I don't want anyone to know yet.

Run to the toilets lol that's what I used to do.

Congratulations once again! I've booked an appt with the doctor because I want to see a medical professional haha just doesn't seem right that I'll see someone after 6-8 weeks of pregnancy.. I've been getting tummy/pelvic pain that I want to ask about as well. I've read that it's normal but still want to ask to make sure.

Congrats think its normal to book appt with gp? Then refer you to a booking appointment with midwife thats what i did x

Not with our surgery. It differs from area to area.. My friend lives 15 mins away and she had to see the doctor first...

Hi Again. I rang my surgery last night and cancelled my appointment with the GP, the receptionist confirmed that I just need to ring the local hospital and make an appointment with the midwife myself. So I'll do that later today. :)

I'm waiting for my appointment to come through the post now. Hope you're able to book an appt over the phone today x

I did thanks, I'm going on 25th March. I'll get confirmation of this through the post apparently. I know it's not long to wait but it feels like a long time! Fingers crossed you get your appointment date soon x

Congratulations on your BFP :) I didn't see my doctor either, they don't really do anything if you do anyway. I just phoned my surgery and they booked me with the community midwife for a booking in appointment at 10 weeks, which I had at the local surgery still. I take it this is your first?

I had such horrible bloating last night that I've put on 3 lbs!!!!! And I've been 100% on plan, no naughty treats or anything :( really hoping it settles.. I really want to lose weight during my pregnancy.

Oh no, hopefully it won't stick. I had a half pound gain last week at SW. I'd really like to lose too, although if I STS for as long as possible I'd be OK with that. Are you having any morning sickness? I've not actually been sick but seem to be feeling queazy very easily.

I had some crisps on saturday absolutely fine, and then My OH was eating some of the same ones yesterday and seriously the smell was disgusting. I had to move away from him.

Even STS would be ideal right? Because you're bound to lose baby weight, placenta etc once you've given birth..

No morning sickness, I had evening nausea for a few days but that's gone too.

My appetite is still around too.. I get symptoms coming and going.. Pain in the tummy and pelvic.. Sore boobs every now and again... Sore lower back (although I suffer from that anyway but not as much now I had lost the weight I have)..

Well my staying the same has already gone out of the window. I've been feeling quite nauseous, especially when my stomach is empty. I don't normally eat any bread on slimming world, but I've been eating loads because toast or a sandwich will lie in my stomach better than fruit, salad or veg.

the upshot is that I pul 2.5lbs on last night at SW.

hope you're doing ok :)
