Gelatine
Hi S&Sers!! I've seen on the website about gelatine powder you can use to make mousse & ice cream - can we use any old gelatine? I've got some in the cupboard but don't know whether to give it a whirl or not?

For some reason gelatine powder doesn't work in the same way as the S&S mousse powder. Normally with gelatine powder you're supposed to dissolve it in hot water, which you don't have to do with SS mousse powder.
I used Dr oetker gelatine powder sprinkled into the dry mix as per the instructions for mousse powder, the liquid didn't set at all and just had horrible granules in it. The mousse powder makes the most delicious mousses, I prefer it lightly set so normally leave it for 10 mins and sprinkle on chopped up slivers of bar - lush! I haven't tried dissolving the gelatine and adding it in liquid form so that might work,
