My wee diet (life change) log :)

I wasn't originally going to do a diary but then I thought it would be a perfect way to vent any excitements or frustrations even if it was just to myself lol.

I had my first weigh in today and I've lost 11lbs. Feeling really motivated and pleased but at the same time I don't want to become complacent as I know it won't be easy to keep the scales going down but darn it I'm certainly in the right mood for trying!lol

Ive always been a 'big girl' but since uni I have literally piled on the weight and last month when I reached my heaviest of 15st 8lb I felt enough was enough and I needed and wanted to try and break my bad food habits. I literally lived on carbs so I knew I needed to do something extreme in order to shift that feeling of reliance I have for comfort food like bread, pasta, crisps , chips etc. That's what I have found most surprising about being on slim and save, after day 2 I had no cravings for my fav foods as listed, and still haven't had any yet so if I can continue on this journey and try and break my old bad habits I know I'll definitely be on to a winner and it'll be easier to maintain!

Food dairy for today:
(last week I had mostly been sticking to 4 packs but decided today to have 3 and a balanced meal)
I had my porridge at around 11- I find I'm not as hungry in morning so try and hold off my first pack.
i then had Thai soup for lunch at around 3 (bit later than usual but had a meeting).
i then made myself a chicken stir fry, with 100gms chicken breast, and just about 200gms of mixed veg- green pepper, courgettes, spring onion, mushrooms, white cabbages. I made it with soy sauce and a tiny bit of Thai spice and it was really delish.
I have a shake for later but still feeling extraordinarily full from dinner lol.

I also drink between 2.5-3 litres of water a day which I am just about getting used to know (and my frequent trips to the loo)

Day 8 and going good!
food today so far:
Porridge and tea for breakfast
chicken stir fry for lunch
chilli con carne for dinner
Also have drank roughly 2 litres of water so far and a glass of coke zero

I'm a complete diet coke addict do I'm finding the odd wee glass of cold zero is keeping those diet coke demons at bay lol! Haven't had any cravings today either which is great.

I noticed today however that my energy levels are literally non existent which going by other peoples threads doesn't seem the norm when in ketosis so perhaps I've manage to knock myself out of it somehow. Im thinking it could be due to the fact that I have had 3 food packs and a balanced low carb meal these last 3 days while previously I was just taking 4 packs so I am going to do the next few days with 4 packs as previously done to see if it makes a change.

I'm going back to the gym tomorrow too (didn't go at all last week as didn't think it would be wise while starting a VLCD) so I'm hoping that bounces my energy levels up a notch!

Menu looks lush! Think I'll be on coke zero and cream soda from tomorrow t keep my demons at bay too! Take it easy at the gym tomorrow but have a good workout. Take care, goodnight sweetie x x
 
Have had a pants start to the week with a 1 lb weightloss! Still it's better than a 1 lb gain but can't help but feel a little defeated as I am really sticking to this as close to if not 100% on a daily basis :(. I have been completely bunged up this week (now over a week since I've been to loo properly :( ) and I'm thinking- ok slightly hoping- that's y I've had such a small weightloss. Anyways I'm going to just stick with it and fingers crossed I'll have a better result next week!
 
At my complete wits end today! Have had absolutely no bowel movement and completely bunged up :( obviously wont be able to continue at this rate :( trust me :(
 
hey moesy poor you can you take some laxatives?i no its not good full term but just untill your regular again iv had the opposite on this diet :rolleyes:maybe try some fibre drinks?i really dont no what else to suggest but i feel for you hope it shifts soon xx
 
Sorry to hear that Hun, u should take some laxatives and when your sorted get some benefibre and have it everyday , big hugs xxx ur doing great cxx

Aw thanks ladies! Had a wee bit rant there sorry lol! I've tried laxatives and I've started taking fibre sachets twice a day from monday and still nothing. Actually have the most annoying pain in my left side! Finally found a diet that I can find myself sticking too and this happens. I think someone's trying to tell me something lol!xx

Hmmm I think you should maybe see the doc or ring pharmacist and advise them what u have taken they maybe be able to prescribe you something stronger, it does happen a lot on this diet Unfortunatly :(

Thanks stef! I'm given my bowels an ultimatum to work by tomorrow or else I will go see the doc lol! Here's hoping the bowels listen he he xx

See that's the annoying thing everything else is going a hell of a lot better than I ever thought. I've got in a gd wee routine already, not hungry and I'm noticing a difference in my body shape already :) and miniminers like yourself differently inspire me to go on :) xx

So I weighed myself today and I've somehow managed to gain a lb!! I think my body is obviously not liking this diet at all and I'm keeping to it 100%! The only things that go past my mouth that aren't the packs are veggies from the list (never over the 200grams), lots of water, some days I'll have a cup of tea with a dash of milk, I've had coke zero a few of the days but not often, and erm toothpaste when I'm brushing my teeth lol.... So I'm completely baffled and miffed that for the last two weeks I've basically lost nothing...hmm...oh well I'm just gonna keep going and hope for the best come Monday! Oh and I totally made myself very proud today indeed as one of the girls in work Mae the most delicious cupcakes I've ever seen but I still never gave in even though everyone was raving about how amazing they were... Go me!lol!!
 
Keep at it hun, are you gettin 3-4 litres water??

Hey rebekah! Yea I'm drinking plenty of water, I'm think my body must be retaining it possibly?lol x
 
Keep going Moesy and you'll get a good result I'm sure of it.
I just think it's a woman thing retaining water.
The toilet issue is something that effects most people as the calorie count is so low and we're not eating carbs or rubbish food.
Good luck for your weigh-in I've got my fingers crossed for you x x
