So I started slim and save today. I'm doing SS, nothing else. I wouldn't say I am terribly over weight, but in Jan 2012 I was 10st 6 and now I'm 11st 9lbs :(. It turns out I have an under-active thyroid. I was diagnosed about 4 months ago and I am still putting on weight at around 2lbs per month, the medication isn't helping and my doctors are investigating as I still have many of my other symptoms though my test results say I shouldn't :sigh:.

Anyway, enough about that...I want to get back to how I was and I have tried doing a low cal food diet combined with exercise to no avail. I think I need the confines of total meal replacement.

Today I have been up beat but hungry.

Question- I regularly drink about 2.5L of water but today I have been even thirstier, is this normal and is it an issue if I go over the 3.5L suggested?

I look forward to getting to know you all!

hiya, yes most of us feel thirstier as at first as we are not getting the water we normally get in our foods. Hope it goes well for you

Day two. I've never done anything like this before so this is a totally new experience for me, but I am liking it. I'm already not as hungry as yesterday, I managed to wait another hour on yesterday before I had my second pack :)

I'm sooo thirsty though. I had 4 litres yesterday oops...

Glad you're first day went well!

Don't worry about the thirst and water - drinking lots of water actually assists this diet, so you should do great!

Hope you have a good day

My stomach is making the most strange noises! I'm really hungry. 1 hour until I can have my next shake, though trying to hold off for as long as possible. Will be having the veg allowance this evening too.

hehehe yes the tum does like to moan about it's lack of carbs :D don't worry it will calm down a bit but still has an occasional grumble. One word of warning about this diet, make sure you have plenty of loo roll as you will be weeing like a racehorse very soon if you aren't already!

In all honesty though, this is the best diet I have done so far (and I've done the rounds, often more than once...) after about day 4 it all settles in quite nicely and you half wonder what the fuss was about :)

Should I be exercising on this diet? I'm not a gym bunny or anything but I do cycle regularly, about 2 hours per week, as well as rock climbing. Just had the tomato soup, must admit I'm not liking it too much...are the others better?

Day two and the last of my packs for the day consumed- spicy spaghetti, was really yum! I had it with 100g of spinach, dry fried with some seasoning. It actually felt like a proper meal, with out the hassle of weighing and stuff...LOVE IT.

At about 4pm I got a real high, felt great. I eat fairly low carb generally so it's possible I am on my way to ketosis :)

Day three and this is the hardest day so far. I have just finished my second pack, a praline bar, yummy! The raspberry shake I had for breakfast was interesting, I don't think I'll be ordering that in large quantities. Yuk. I went to the supermarket to get broccoli and leeks, and a few other house hold items I was rally good and did not cave in and buy all the stuff I was craving, and now I feel much better for not having done it. I just wish they made a chocolate and peanut butter flavoured shake or bar!

Ooh yum I would love a chocolate and peanut butter one!!
I enjoyed the praline bar last night.
I am also on day 3 I am feeling fine today m, yesterday I was close to caving but feel good today
Just had the macoroni cheese with cauliflower I couldn't stomach it tho so won't be ordering that one! The spaghetti bolognaise was a nice one tho

Well Goodluck and hope we can both stick it out over the weekend :) xx

stick at it, well done for not caving :)

Thanks guys.

happy27 - I am dreading the weekend, if I can stick that out I know I'll be fine.

I did my first shift in the restaurant today (I work 2 jobs) and thought it would be hell with all the lovely smelling food and stuff, but I was actually ok. I had my 'tea', the chilli with broccoli and leeks before I started my shift (I usually have shake for breakfast, bar for lunch, shake at 5 and tea at 8) and it worked well. I didn't really fancy my shake when I got home at 9 but I had it any way, cafe latte, really nice. I'm trying the mac and cheese tomorrow. The raspberry shake I had this morning was horrid though, really fake tasting though it looked to be real raspberry.

The other thing I like about this diet is that it is already getting me into good habits- I boiled my broccoli and leeks and then fried them in a little soy sauce, no oil, I would usually have added oil, even though th pan is really good non-stick.

Here's hoping I can last the weekend :)

Well done :) just keep coming on here if you have cravings that's what I do!

I had a hazelnut shake and I loved it and the lemon and white choc bar was lovely too :)

Well Goodluck over the weekend xx

try to think of the weekend of not a weekend, makes it easier :)

Thanks dovydaitis. I'm just taking it one day at a time. Going to keep busy and go for a bike ride tomorrow.

I seem to be really, erm, windy. like both ends, I don't seem to be having any bathroom trouble yet but just wondered if this was normal. I have a fairly sensitive digestive tract any way but this is unusual, even for me.

YES! I am very windy too

Oh no! I just put my final shake into MFP and looked at my daily break down and I've had 69g of carbs  18g are fibre.

I don't understand. I have had 4 packs and 90g of broccoli and 10g leeks. How did this happen?

Today- 9am Raspberry shake 1pm praline bar, 5pm chilli (meal pack) 90g broccoli, 10g leeks, 1tsp soy sauce, 9.30pm cafe latte shake. All shakes made with water. I have had 1 cup of tea, using 50ml of skimmed milk.

Hmph. Hope this doesn't impact on my loss.

Anyone know why my carbs are so high, it's only 616 calories.

don't worry, you have stuck to the plan so it will all be fine :)

Thanks, I hope so. And I'm glad I'm not the only one that is windy!

mine are awful! :sign0007:
