Bikini in Oz- I'm coming to get you!

    Hello Ladies,

Well here I am again, back to Slim and Save and hopefully back to fitting into my smaller sizes.

A brief history- I lost almost 3 stones 3 years ago on the Cambridge diet- loved how I felt being smaller and loved the control of the diet too! Towards the end I became very complacent and thought " who needs maintenance- I can do this all by myself!"- how wrong was I? So I'm pretty much back to where I started and now trying Slim and Save for the second time.

I know how this works and when I get into the swing of things it just becomes part of my daily routine, the problem is it's not always easy- I work in the food industry and if I'm not thinking about menus, I'm in a kitchen where temptation is everywhere! The success stories here are truly inspirational and I really want to finish my story- get to goal and maintain. I have the ultimate goal in mind- we're planning a trip to Australia for Xmas and I'm determined to get into a bikini.

I'm not even sure of my start weight- I'm so terrified of weighing myself so for the time being I'm just going to use my clothes as measurements, after the first few weeks I'll brave the scales! I'm currently in size 14 trousers and will take a " before" photo later.( I cannot wait to be back in size 10's, even though I wasn't there for very long...)

So I'm galloping into this for the last time- yesterday was DAY 1- Porridge, Chilli, Mushroom Pasta and a Truffa Bar, 3 litres of water. DAY 2 ( today)- Porridge, Spicy Spaghetti and 1 1/2 litres of water so far...

I'm hoping that by keeping a diary here, it'll help me stay on track. Good luck ladies- I'll keep you all posted.

    Thanks Lyndzi76,

Had a great 2nd day- went home form work and had cottage pie9 forgotten how nice that one was!) and a Maple and Almond bar ( watching the Great British Bake Off!!!)

Today so far I've had my porridge, spicy spaghetti and heading home now for a soup and a bar. I'm very proud that I resisted everything in the kitchen I visited today and even resisted an ice-cream that the boss bought for me. It took all my will power but it's done and dusted.

Feeling great so far...cant wait for Ketosis to kick in.

    Well done Lainey123!!

I did the same as you - I did the Cambridge diet and lost 3 stone before my wedding but slowly it crept back on - first a stone and I was like ah well, that'll be easy to shift, but then it's 2 stone and before I knew it I was back to the beginning! I fell pregnant and went crazy on malteasers!! - as in 4 stone preggy crazy!! - and had a 6 pound baby!!
I lost a big bit of it but now my weight has plateaued and I'm now 4 stone more than my target!
I was angry with myself but am feeling good now that I am proactive and doing something about it!!
I think this diet has more variety than Cambridge - I'm on day 5 and feel good!!

Once this bulk has shifted I think I'm gonna do that 5/2 diet and do five days of normal happy healthy eating and 2 days of low carb low calorie (basically this diet!) to maintain my weight. Gotta get there first!
I can't wait to wear something other than maternity leggings that I'm living in at the moment!!

Good luck on your weight loss journey!! Xx

Bikini in Oz- I'm coming to get you!

    Thanks Sammy,

Your plan pretty much replicates what I want to do...as in 5:2 diet.... once I shift these pounds!!!.I have attempted S and S before using 3 products and a protein meal but this time round I'm doing 4 products to remove all temptation....for the time being anyway.
Had the mild curry for the 1st time today....definitely not my favourite but the variety is so much better than Cambridge.....even the perception that I'm "eating a meal" makes this so much easier.

Looking back my old CD consultant frightened the weight off me-I was terrified of getting on the scales if I had even eaten a crumb!!!But don't get me wrong she was brilliant and I will be forever grateful for finding the diet but
    this is a cheaper alternative.

On my phone at the moment so can't see your stats but good luck with your weight loss-Day 5-well done these are the most difficult days!!

P.S.-Think I'm replacing my addiction to food with an addiction to minimins

Yeah me too!! These forums help distract me and reading people's stories helps motivate me!! Only day 5 so hopefully my motivation can stay this strong!!

I nearly went back to Cambridge but so glad that I found this one instead!
My cambridge lady was good but I wanted a diet That I could do on my terms without feeling obliged to go back every week and buy more. When I did it before it came to a natural end as I got married but this time I wouldn't be able to finish until I get pregnant again - and that's not happening for quite a while yet!!

Had a mental day and only just managing to have shake number 3 - hot mint chocolate. Mmm I have to say its not my favourite which has bummed me out more that I've had a crap day and now I have a crap drink! Ha ha. I don't think I'll manage another shake today. If my baby hadn't of had such a mental turn all evening I would've been able to - I really wanted to try the cottage pie - but not really feeling it at 9.45pm!!

Anyway! Cor I've gone on a bit...!! Sorry!!

    How are you getting on?
Day 6 tomorrow! I'm a secret daily weigher but am waiting til Sunday for my official first weigh in!!

    Xx

Bikini in Oz- I'm coming to get you!

    Hi there,

Well it's day 5 for me,cookies and cream shake for brekkie and a maple almond bar( yum) just now...so far so good....

I used to be a daily weigher too but I got so obsessed with it that I had to stop! This time I'm waiting as long as I can to weigh and just going to judge by my clothes...although I am really tempted.

BTW the mild curry played havoc with my tummy-I'm usually suffering from constipation ( TMI) by day 5 but oh that curry......not good!

Well done on reaching day 6-keep strong for that weigh in on Sunday.

Bikini in Oz- I'm coming to get you!

I went to meet a friend this afternoon and had something off plan-a chai tea latte made with soya milk....I absolutely adore chai tea and she had ordered it for me before I got there....must check where we stand with Soya milk( only a tiny 8oz) but why am I beating myself up about 8oz of milk-it's not as if its 8lbs of chocolate?

Guilt is definitely an issue I need to deal with!

I think I read something about soya milk - have you used the slim and save meal planner on their website? It comes up with all the things you can have and works out the carbs/protein/fat for you.
I've found it super handy - today I went 18 calories over my allowance! Will have to run up the stairs a few times before bed! Lol.
Don't beat yourself up about that. At least she hadn't ordered you a large hot chocolate with cream and a slab of cake!!
I put Worcester sauce on my cottage pie this evening but couldn't remember if I'd read that we can have or whether to avoid it!!! Was only a splash! Hmmm.

Feeling really positive -hope that feeling lasts for a while...asked the hubby if he thought Id lost weight and he said definitely....maybe 2 or 3 pounds!!!!WTF...it better be a lot more than that for not eating a single thing all week...my average is about 7 lbs in the 1st week then 3 each week after that-hoping its the same as Cambridge losses....
