Introducing ~ Big Girl Going Small :)

So here i go....

Day 1 on my weightloss journey and weighing in at a staggering 16st 10lbs on my dodgy scales.
I was 15st 3 not too long ago but busy lifestyle and playing hard resulted in me feeling even fatter...
No wonder, i've whacked on another stone and 7lbs in a few months!!
Doesn't help that intead of cutting down on carbs before this diet, i had a large tikka baguette and a Harvester meal yesterday!

But hey, thats why i'm here, right?
And boy am i determined.

I have started my day at 11:50am with a Banana Shake.

First thoughts; Yummy, like Angel Delight which i LOVE
Second thought; It soon wears thin and there's a dodgy after taste.

I also struggle to drink it all in 10 mins (like the pack advises) but maybe its better that way!

Regardless, i've eaten worse things on diets so i'm staying positive.

Biggest incentive to slim down; Marrying my gorgeous hunk of a man next May and quite rightly, i want to feel elegant, beautiful and confidant on our big day.
Not to mention whatever the girls have planned for my Hen Do, and for our beautiful Honeymoon in Marrakesh, Morocco 3 days after the wedding.

I'm a tall-ish lass, so at 5ft 8" i carry weight better than most..... but not that much better!

No excuses now, there's no reason to be nearly 17 stone (arrrrghhh!!) and a size 18, when i could quite easily (?) be 12 stone and a nice size 12.

I have already chosen and paid deposit for my stunning wedding dress, and it will be arriving early march. Depending on how this diet pans out, i may be getting the seamstress to be taking in an awful lot of fabric! I just hope i don't completely change my style and hate the dress if i become alot smaller.
Oh well, only time will tell, and i only have 4 months until my first fitting... i could well be 12-13st by then. Eeeeekk!

Right, lets get Day 1 well and truly underway...... xxx

Current weight: 16st 10lbs (234lbs)
Goal weight: 12st (168lbs)
Need to lose: 4st 10lbs (66lbs)

hey Tara27....welcome aboard!

i too have embarked on this journey for near enough the same reasons...wedding next August and I refuse to even venture into a wedding shop till I've made a dent in this lardy bum of mine after too much good living!

I went wedding ring shopping the other day and I'm glad I didn't choose one as 5 stone from now may mean my sausage fingers would be far too small yet far too expensive to resize!

I can't believe I am 30 days in and 16lbs down so far....have had a couple of wobbles but this the place to come to when I feel it....still got a while to go but I'm taking it stone at a time and having some funny laughs along the way on here :)

thankfully we are allowed some small mercies on this plan like coke zero etc....anyways....wishing you all the best and rooting for you x

Hiya!
Wow 16lbs, u must feel great!
Yeh, I did think that about my engagement ring/wedding ring, but their chosen and paid for too! Luckily my hands have never bared the brunt of my munching ;)
I wonder how much I will have lost by then..... Its so exciting isn't it.
Think it'll be the only thing keeping me on track, imagining walking down that aisle!!
Good luck!!

It's a great motivation!! My seamstress had to take yards of my dress in but I didn't care! It's totally worth it to feel amazing on your special day!!
Maybe try the banana one hot?!
Well done on day one!! Xx

Thanks Sammy!!!
Yeh, who cares if I have to pay extra to get my DRESS altered.... I'll be SLIM for god sake, lol!!!
Day one has been interesting.... Emotions all over the place, but generally good ones! I can feel it will be hard emotionally and physically along the way. Its literally breaking the habit of a LIFETIME.
Be strong Tara.......

Day One done......

Mixed feelings.

Overall I am thinking how the hell will I survive on these packs for 6 months?!
But I am so motivated, failing is not an option.
Just to recap, today I had;
*Banana Shake
*Cafe Late Shake
*Spaghetti Bolognese
*1/2 Dark choc truffa bar
*1/2 lemon bar

And I've consumed 5 pints of water and a glass of Dr Pepper Zero.
I also had mushrooms, broccoli and courgettes with my spag bol.

Have to say, I hated the Bolognese. Far too spicy and not a nice taste generally. Thinking of ways to make it nicer as I have another 7 or 8 packs!
But generally no bad hunger pangs, weakness or headaches today.
Roll on day 2!

Whoop whoop! You're on your way now Tara :)

have to say that i have to add stuff to the bolognese and spicy spaghetti....hate the curry...even though I'm a huge curry fan...probably coz its too fake like bolognese...try mixing in some veg perhaps?

i could live for the bars and caramel/banana shakes for the rest of my diet to be honest! So lush!

roll on day 3 for you...x

Hi when you start feeling a bit bored jazz it up a bit and experiment. Also your taste buds weirdly change around 3 months ish and you'll end up loving all different packs!! :) xx

Day 2

Uuuggghhhhh today has been a struggle :(
Was fine this morning....
Tried a Strawberry Shake for brekkie at gone 11am. It was nice! although I'm not a fan of the 'bits' but then I've always been funny with food texture.
Then around 3 I had a muesli bar. I think it would've been nicer with a hot drink but I forgot to buy skimmed milk, and I'm trying not to have it til I get into ketosis.
I found the bar ok, but quite sickly.
I chomped on a stick of celery an hour before dinner.
For dinner at 6pm I had Cheese Pasta with roast veggies (courgettes, mushrooms) and steamed broccoli.
Again, the first couple of mouthfuls were ok, then it became a struggle and quite strong and sickly :(
The small glass of Dr Pepper to wash it down was heaven sent!
And I'm saving my Choc Shake for before bed later :)

So all in all I'm feeling a bit low, I've questioned why I can't just eat healthily instead of restricting myself to these things I'm not really enjoying :(
I guess that's the carb and sugar withdrawal. Stomach very rumbly today.
I've had my 2 days off so I'm back to work tomoro, so that may take my mind off it a bit more.
Dreading the weekend!!!!

Ah hopefully you can whizz through tomorrow by being busy and then by the weekend you should slip into ketosis and find the hunger pangs subside. Xx

Hi Tara,

I though I was the only weirdo with issues with food textures :).
You can do this. I too thought I can eat healthy, I be in control. Il do weight watchers. 2 weeks and half a stone gain later I'm back as I was totally not in control.
The first few days are the worst but your nearly there. Day 4 youl be in ketosis and it's so much easier. Dig deep x

Thanks so much Marie and Sammy.
I can do this and I WILL do this.
Lets face it, if it was easy I would of been slim years ago.
Its daft to even think that I've learnt my lesson in 2 days and that I would be able to control myself with normal food now. Yeh right!
Time to toughen up and remember why I felt the need to take such drastic measures in the first place.
I can imagine if I quit now I'd feel more down than I do now.
Its only food for god sake!!
X

So........
Here I am again
6th Jan and back on the VLCD train with a vengeance!
Failed miserably a couple of months ago, lasted 3 days :(
Its ok tho, I'm spurred on now that Xmas is out the way and I now only have just under 5 months til I walk down the aisle to my gorgeous groom, eeeeek!
Starting the day with a 75cl bottle of water.... Started work at 7 and made it last until I've just sat down now at 10:23 for a muesli bar and decaf coffee.
Hoping to get through today with a jump in my step.
Soft workout at the gym later... We'll see how that goes!
I'm starting back 7lb lighter tho, just a tad less to lose at 16st 4 now!

Thank u clinquant! How are u doing?

So, I had a wobble at around 1pm and was so ready to pack it all in and tell my OH we were going out for dinner! Until I just thought.... NO TARA! Stop being so weak and have faith in yourself.
So I carried on with the water and had my caramel shake when I got home at 3pm. Popped into Sainsbury and bought some tinned red salmon, babybel light, peppers, cucumber and ribena plus to keep me going. Will have a light meal at around 6, hit the gym, then my last choccie shake at 10 ish.
