    Hello everyone,

    been on this site for a few days now and instead of congesting the main forum thought this seemed more appropriate.

    Ok I am tempted to write down some of my history just so anyone reading might get an insight into where I am, the whys what's who's etc. I just actually feel too lazy to write it all. So will just keep this diary into the present and what I want now.

    I am 5'4.5 and 13 st. I was 12.7 about 4-5 days ago but eating too much has led me to be 13st as of today.
    I had my first day on the diet today and it went ok. Let's just hope I keep it up for the next few months as going on Hol on 28th April n want to be slim n sexy by then. Fingers x'd!

    Ok goals as of now are:

    New Year's Eve 11st.7
    my bday 2nd feb 10.7
    2nd march 9.7

    wish me luck guys! I hope I do this. I am sick of feeling miserable. Xxx

    Get the first week out the way and then everything flows much better. It is hard work but every little bit you chip away is that bit closer to being a healthier happier brand new you.

    Hello Sammy and Lucy! thanks for your messages..

    Started on Tuesday so today is my 3rd day. Going ok so far. I have not had any headaches or hunger pangs or any real cravings for food. I have been a bit under the weather with slight flu symptoms as well.
    Have discovered: I like hazelnut shake vanilla crispy shake. Like the lemon bar. Not that keen on nuts n maple I think bar and choc truffle was just ok too. Hated the spaghetti bolongase, mushroom pasta was okayish and cottage pie with chilli flakes and pepper and brussel sprouts was quite good.
    I got new scales today and weighed myself. I know I shouldn't have but I did :0 and when I started my old ones said 13st today my old ones said 12.11 and my new ones 12.10.6 (electronic) I was hoping to lose at least 10lbs by Tuesday doubt it's going to happen now
    anyway nvr mind. I'm strong. I just want this weight gone now. I hope I achieve my mini goals. Fingers x'd! Told my mum she's babysitting on New Year's Eve if I get to 11.7!! Lol not been out out in soooo long! So I hope I do make it. Will be nice to dress up and go out with my hubby n friends.

    Iv still been drinking semi skimmed milk in my coffee. I prob have about.. Really taking it to the max.. About 60ml? Have 3 coffees while at work.

    Anyway hope this time on my diet flies by! Good luck to us all. N let us not cave. It's all in the mind. Let's focus on that and control our brains and not let 'it' control us!!

    Btw when's the best time to order more packs? I wish they were cheaper I CAN afford it.. Just don't know if it's right to spend this money on food for me instead of my doing my own vlcd? I know this is something now allowed to be discussed here. But someone tell me why this or any other packaged vlcd is better than any old home made vlcd? I need reassurance I'm not being selfish and wasting money. Thanks xx

    I would say it's because you really need to look after your body when doing a vlcd. Sending your body into a state of ketosis needs good support and these packs provide all the essential vitamins and nutrients to ensure you stay healthy and look after yourself.
    On a practical level I think it would be very hard to do low calorie without the packs as it would be hard to have a full meal with only 130 cals made from home. You might want to consider Atkins as an option which is higher calorie but low carb and something you can do easier home made?

    Also hun I was 13,7 when I started and my first week was 8lbs and second week 6lbs. So don't be too hard on the scales. As long as they go down that's the main thing! But I know where you're coming from - they never seem to go down quick enough!! Lol

    Just so you know - I've done just under 12 weeks and am starting my TFR break today (due to a girlie night out tonight!) and in just under 12 weeks I have lost 3 stone. (And that's including a couple of blips along the way!).
    So when SnS say it's on average a stone a month - they are right!

    I think 11,7 is definitely do-able hun!!

    Day 3 I hated - but day 4 onwards was cool so hopefully you're on your way to ketosis land. It's good you've not had any bad side effects too.

    Ps: I blooming hate new scales! I have 2 sets that are 4lbs out of each other! Very annoying! So I stick to one set now. Yes - the lower one ha ha Xx

    Hi Sammy, thanks for ur advice n motivation. I guess I just start feeling guilty I'm spending this money on just me and I need to know it's not in vain. Don't think I can do Atkins long term. No milk allowed plus too much meat! Although I do love meat think I would struggle with it. I'd much rather have a bar n cup if tea!
    Feeling not that great still. Cold still here and my wee baby got it too. We always get ill together. Strange.
    Have had a muesli bar today which I enjoyed. Have a slake in a wee while. Roll on Tuesday for weigh in!! Xx

    Yeah had it hot with an added sweetener coz felt wasn't as sweet as some of the others. Was pretty nasty for me jewel! :0 guess that's diff ppls diff taste buds.. How u doing today?     Ok do had the chilli con carne with chilli flakes black pepper and sprouts. Was ok. Better than spaghetti bolongase but cottage pie is still best for me.

    Dont by know don't really feel much slimmer. Not cheated at all. Yet I feel like iv not lose a whole lot. I did cambridge for a week early this year and lost 8lbs in 6 days. Do you think eating the meals and bar has an affect on weight loss? Mayb m better with just the shakes. Thoh I will miss the concept of eating with the meals and bars. I'm confused!!
    Think I will carry on till Tuesday anyway and then decide which us the best course to take.
    Iv actually always thought of myself as a fast loser don't know why not feeling confident on sns.

    8lbs in the first week is possible but not guaranteed. If you keep it stuck in your head that you must lose x amount of lbs in each week then you might be disappointed. You're only on day 4 so ketosis will only just be kicking in. Stay on plan and see what weigh day brings, I doubt anyone starts feeling slimmer after only a few days. If you dont lose much after the first week then adjust what shakes/meals you have then x

    Thanks jewel! I needed to hear that. Yeah ur right about shouldn't focus on the number per week. Thoh I love planning and day dreaming. I get my calendar out on my phone and am always jotting down my weight loss. E.g w/e 24/11 w/e 1/12.. It's so sad!! Lol I must stop. In a way I find it motivating too but I guess I shouldn't be unrealistic and then be depressed if don't reach goal. Don't feel like m in ketosis. Just feel normal. Bit grumpy today thoh. I have read some of ur diary think I will read it all to get some inspiration and dose of reality!
