5 months to blast (my first) 5 stone!

Hi all,

I wanted to start a new diary so here it is!
I am not new to mm or s&s!

I have probably tried (and failed - gained more weight each time!!) every diet you can think of.

Ironically, despite sadness with my weight - constantly gaining another stone every 6 months for the last two years, I am deliriously happy with the love of my life and we are getting married - IN 5 MONTHS!

I have wanted to change my weight for as long as I can remember.
I am absolutely sick of tired of being so heavy and miserable. None of my clothes fit, I'm completely anti-social, and my self esteem is absolutely shocking.

I feel that a vlcd is the 'break' from food I really need at the minute, so hopefully i can work on my comfort/boredom eating.

For the first time (on any diet) I am mentally prepared. Very focuses and really going to give it my all.

First mini goal = 5 stone for my wedding! Can I do it? I hope so!!!

Haha I've actually put 5 stone as my first mini goal not just because my wedding is in 5 months.,. But because 16 stone was the last time I remember my clothes fit with room to move!

Still squashing myself into the same size clothes as 4 stone ago... So I really am talking desperate measures!!!


My starting weight is 20st 10lb and I am a size 22. Just.
22 still in my wardrobe - couldn't fasten up the 22 winter coats Ive been shopping for!

Here's to progress! Hope to meet new diet pals along the way! And fill my diary with success!

Good luck wifey to be! In getting wed too in May so we can help each other I'm looking for about 4 stone now I've lost 1 stone 1lbs in 2 weeks you can defo shift 5 stone very quick on s&s it's fav you don't have to think about food or making meals etc! I find it easy with my 5 month old daughter who constantly wants my attention so being in ketosis really is helping keep my energy levels up :)
Congrats on day 2 are you on day 3 now?
 
You can definitely do that. I have lost just over 4 stone in 13 weeks and was almost the same starting weight to you. I'm hoping I will be in the 15's by the time 4 months rolls around.

It's tough but it really does simplify all the nonsense around food. Get your head down for the first couple of weeks and it will start to feel like a habit.

Thank you!! Day 3 for me! Sticks say ketosis but not feeling the energy levels yet :p

Hi all!


Day 3 and a little stick test proves to be a dark salmon so I think I am in ketosis? However I do still feel hungry and my energy levels are worse if anything.

Another two random grumbles -

1. my mouth is aching, don't know if this has anything to do with the diet or my body being shocked I'm not stuffing it 24/7... But yeah a constant ache almost all day long!

2. I am only 1lb down on the scales! In three days! This is disheartening to me as I'm so big I was hoping to at least shift half a stone.

Will try to ignore the numbers and focus on the fact that I'm on a vlcd it MUST come off!

Looking forward to day 4 tomorrow, really proud of myself and quite glad I didn't cave into the box of malteasers! (Wrapped them for my gran!)

Hope I manage at work tomorrow - first day I'm not going to be eating at lunch.... In front of people! Eeeek! xxx
 
Step away from the scales. Weight fluctuates daily and can be disheartening if you dont see much movement each day. Dont weigh again until weigh day and if you're following the diet properly you should see a nice loss x

Day 5 for me! Don't know wether to believe those ketostix or not but either way I am not and have not been hungry or thirsty today and it's 11:40am.... So must be in some sort of zone at least!!

I'm so thankful we can have tea on this diet mind, especially when it's freezing out! x
 
Woohoo got to day 6!! Had chicken and veg last night really need to get the water flavouring though all this coke zero can't be good! z

Slice of beef.

Feel crap but no point whinging. I know what I've done wrong. Lots of water for me and back on the shakes x
 
That's the right attitude to have, at least the stuff you ate was protein and not carbs x
 
Yes, you'll be able to recover from that! Get busy, drink water and make a plan - include 5 packs or 4 packs and protein at regular intervals so you don't have to go more than say 2 hrs between packs. Then, if you can go longer, you'll feel good about it, and if you can't, you'll know you don't have more than a couple of hours till you can eat again. It's all about the mind - mine is a pain and keeps telling me to eat so I have to trick it lots

When I did s&s a little while back there was days I just felt hungry so I had my packs and more protein as long as the carbs are low you should be fine at least you didn't go scoffing anything really damaging :)
 
You be fine everything you ate was good healthy protein it will barely make a dent, stay strong your doing great :)
 
Hi,

I really empathise with you! I too have tried so many weight-loss programmes and products over the years with varying success. Some have worked well and I've got down to my target weight but then it all goes back on again. Whilst others have been a complete waste of time.

I have felt very low for many years because of my size. I put on a happy face and make out that being big doesn't bother me but it does. I cry myself to sleep most nights as I feel trapped in this cruel cycle. I know it's my own fault but temptation is terrible curse.

I know I'm procrastinating and have for ages now as I don't think I can deal with failure again. I know it's stupid but if I don't start another diet I can't fail right?

The thing is I do want to lose the weight but I need to choose programme that will give me the best chance of success and as yet I don't know what that is.
