    Want2BeSlim's S&S Diary - I'm back again

    I'm back and going to do a VLCD again. I do already have an old diary somewhere in this section but wanted to make a new one, I can be a bit of a past dweller when it comes to weight/diets so don't want to encourage it so I'm just going to start afresh. I cannot change the past but can at least try and change my future.

    So I'm back/restarting because: in March 2012 I started S&S weighing about 15st 9 lb, I did 12 weeks and lost 33.5 lb. I then had a week break but it actually turned into two weeks. I got back on plan and did S&S for about another 4 weeks losing a bit more weight (taking my total to about 39 lb) then stopped again - I gave up. I was not following any diet plan for about 2 months, during those 2 months off I regained almost 20 lb. I knew I needed to get my butt in gear before I regained all that I had lost and that's when I decided to finally try JUDDDD. I started JUDDDD on 1st October 2012 and stayed doing that plan until roughly the end of March 2013, in total I lost nearly 2 stone (about just over 25 lb). So from March 2012 to March 2013 I lost about 45 lb.
    At the end of March 2013 I wanted a break from the whole dieting thing, my will power died I suppose. I stopped following a plan and therefore gained some lbs back. On 30th April 2013 I got very motivated and did another 4 weeks of S&S and lost 15 lb, taking my weight down to 12st 3.5 lb. I then apparently lost all motivation and gave up AGAIN and I have been off plan ever since. That's about 10 months of no dieting and eating whatever and too much of whatever.

    Later today I will be taking some before photos and measurements. I'm sure I will absolutely adore my scales on Monday morning when I see just how much weight I have put on

    My delivery didn't arrive monday like it should, nothing to do with slim and save, I bought some packs off eBay to get me started. I'll make an order with S&S later this week or early next week. So today is day 1. One litre of water down so far, started drinking it late about 12pm so the toilet trips are now starting.

    As for my starting weight. Well, my scales were extremely gentle with me NOT. When I saw the number on the scales I was in complete shock I was speechless. I knew I had gained back quite a bit of weight purely by how my clothes have been fitting. First 16's got too tight, then 18's then 20's. I was being silly hoping I was going to be max 14st 7 lb but certainly expected to be close to my starting weight of 15st 9 lb... but I'm actually 16st 9 lb, my heaviest EVER. So I've regained about 4 and a half stone in 10 months which is terrible I should be ashamed of myself for being such a pig and making no effort to restart. I actually have been wanting to restart since before christmas but ended up putting it off until after christmas and it's been like that ever since.

    When I have done S&S before I always do lifestyle, I liked to have some food and not just packs. This time I'm going to try and do my first week as simplicity, just shakes, try and get plenty of water down and maybe no veg. Next week I'll go to lifestyle with veg and milk allowance.

    There I was hoping to be near goal by mid summer, well that's certainly not on the cards but hey ho it is what it is, I got myself into this state so I just have to get on with it now.

    Having my first shake of the day, a Hazelnut one which is completely new to me I've only ever had the strawberry, chocolate, banana, vanilla and red fruits before. I hope I like it otherwise this first week could be difficult because I only have hazelnut, crispy chocolate and red fruit shakes. Actually, I think I have some left over vanilla from last time but would have to check the date on those, vanilla was my least fave last time.

    It's funny, on a normal day I probably wouldn't have eaten a thing yet but wouldn't have tummy rumblings and wouldn't probably even be thinking of food. Today? belly has been rumbling and I'm thinking of food. I think it's all in the mind, mind knows it can eat whatever it wants so it can take it or leave it but when it knows it cannot have something it decides to want want want. Nothing exciting but got a few things to keep me busy in the evenings over the next few days/week, bathing, grooming/trimming dog, touching up my over due roots and dying my hair. I can also finely start reading some of the books I bought months ago, anything to keep my mind off food in the evenings. Tonight though will probably will be an early night for me.

    I quite like the vanilla ones with the flavoured coffee - makes it a bit different if you have to use them up and aren't keen.

    Haven't been on for a few days just wanted to pop on and update my diary.
    Well my first week was completed on 19th, I stuck to shakes the entire time. Each day I had 4 shakes and 2L of water so that's about 3.6L including what I put in the shakes.

    Up until about day 4-5 I didn't feel hungry and I was hoping it was because I was in ketosis by day 3 or 4 but then on day 6 and 7 (and 8) I was feeling so hungry, my belly was also rumbly so I don't think I'm there yet unfortunately. I always seem to be slower to get into ketosis than most. I made sure not to consume anything with caffeine in my first week just in case as I have read it can slow some people down - so in my case that would mean majorly slow to get into ketosis.

    Day 8 yesterday and I'm going to be doing lifestyle from now on unless I'm feeling lazy on a certain day then I'll skip the protein and have 4 shakes instead. I made a stiry fry with beef, shallot, mushrooms and beansprouts. I would have used some soy sauce as apparently it's allowed in limited quantaties but didn't have any.

    The hazelnut reminded me of the vanilla but maybe I have forgotten what they really taste like as haven't had them for a long long time. I'll have to find them out, they may even be out of date by now will have to see

    Those hungry days can strike at random even in ketosis, so I wouldn't worry too much. Well done for powering through those days. It really does get much easier beyond two weeks then it's just the social stuff that can get in the way.
