Detoxing with SnS

I'm a been there done it! So won't bother boring anyone dropping by of my history of yoyo dieting successes and failures.

The decision to re-start a new diary here is to stop boring my long suffering Minimins friends in the silver section with the countless re-starts and a hope that a fresh new diary may have some magicial affect on me to stick with it for longer than a week?

In addition, I am using SnS/vlcd as a detox from the "excesses" I have found myself succumbing to living in London over the past 7-8 weeks (it's been that long?!) I've lost pounds but not the kind of pounds I would like to lose! The lovely food and wine (and fun socialising) has been fun and distracting but time to get serious and over the "early life" crisis my DH and I call it!

Day 1 and I weighed in (again at 9.13.8) and hopefully I'm still around 5ft 2!! And haven't shrunk!

Evening Clin!

Day 1 has gone well so far. I've one pack to go and I'll be done for the day. Will have an early night and catch up on diaries :)

Day 2. Despite an early night I slept poorly and I recall experiencing poor sleep when I attempted this a few weeks ago. Will just have to try to get to bed early the next few nights.

About 10 weeks until Christmas! Wow! Where did the year go! I'm hoping that in the first 6 weeks I can lose 11-12lbs like I did on my previous (successful) attempt. don't actually have any planned social events (half term my DH & son have time off too and may meet friends but as we will have the kids I can hopefully avoid the wine which is always a trigger for me).
I'm using the My Weight app on my phone to record my daily weight which I find helpful. Hoping to have an easy hunger free day...if I'm busy at work I should be ok.

Home from work earlier than usual and hoping I won't get hunger pangs or tempted. I have bursitis pain which has returned and have had a tough day feeling the pain and nausea from the pain. So not the best way to commence a vlcd which is hard enough.

My shift dresses for work feel and look very tight and if I had carried on the way I was I could easily have ballooned to over 10st so that fear factor has to keep me on the straight and narrow and use the tactics of sticking to plan I have used in the past.

Day3, daily weigh 9.12.6 - interesting how there hasn't been the usual "big" drop (in water loss) this time around? Not too fussed though as already feel less bloated and it just feels good to not be over eating and drinking wine! I haven't been drinking as much water as I would on vlcd so that could be the reason? Either way, here's to getting through another day with relative ease I hope.

shoulder pain less severe, sleep was better though not brilliant. Think that the impact of vlcd and getting into ketosis though.

Ash no! Did you walk back then? Think of it as extra exercise?! It's deformed a thing I would do too! Not just opening the wrong pack twice!

Day 3 going ok and I will have another night. Pain was less today, just need to keep up with pain management for now.
Mind played games with me a little earlier telling me it would be ok to eat a snack. It's as if I've got someone else I my head at the same time as me if that makes sense! I'm not even hungry I just thought I was. It is amazing how that feeling subsides or passes if one allows it to.

Hoping daily weigh tomorrow will register another change even if it's water loss. It would just keep me going nicely into the weekend. All psychological for me getting through the early days.

Day 4 daily weigh 9.12.4.
mmh! Very strange there is little movement on the scales? I can put it down only to not enough water, and salad portions are bigger than they should? Anyhow not disappointed as it will have to move eventually as my calorie intake is so low, just find it odd compared to previous times of doing vlcd. I'm also not experiencing the "empty" feeling one does in the initial few days of a vlcd. I may try and just have shakes only today - no salad, porridge or meal packs.

Hi Kira I'm here to cheer you on! !! Don't worry about the scales they have to move eventually! Could you be a bit 'bunged up' ;)

Water water water is the key get glugging :)

What were you doing in London all that time? Bet you felt like Sarah Jessica Parker ;)

Have a great day! !

Day 5 still 9.12.4? Has to be lack of water? Couldn't do a no salad day as I think I would faltered but that still shouldn't make a difference? Wonder it it's the naproxen bunging me up like you say Lou?

Heading back home to the lovely north east this weekend (Lou I live in London during the week for my new job) and alternate my weekends here in London and back north. I must say I feel like a fat version of SJP as the socialising, shopping (especially shoes because no matter what size I am my shoes tend to remain same size!) oh! And bags!

Sorry I digress! So easily done when it's shoes and handbags! I won't get my official weigh until Tuesday as I'll head straight to work on Monday so it gives me longer at home. DH wants to go out for dinner on saturday night so will have to navigate that and make mindful choices. I will avoid wine because that will send me down the wrong path and after this weeks effort I don't want to ruin that.

How exciting living a double life! ! Wow good for you!

It's impossible to not lose if you're sticking to it, one morning you'll get a whoosh and be over the moon :) :)

Doing great and I've jumped on the bandwagon now as you lot are succeeding ;)

Is much easier to do it in a gang ;)

Evening ladies! Back in London and already in bed. Managed ok over weekend and will have official weigh tomorrow. Jeans feel a tad looser so hopefully the scale will have moved a bit more. Think I was still having bigger salad portions np it at least I feel in control.

Yes it it is so much better to stick to plan in a gang Lou!

I'm so glad to see more people back. Good luck x

Day 9 and weigh 9.10.0 so a 3 and a half pound loss. Have to say it it the lowest loss on a first week of vlcd but I'm happy with that. In the past I've lost anything from 4-6lb. I honestly think the water intake is a factor as I have to admit I haven't been drinking as much as I have in the past.

will catch up with everyone tonight as I was in bed early and very tired yesterday. Hi kBqueen and well done on you loss so far!
