A day at a time...

Sooo this is my first bash at Slim & Save, currently on Day 1 :)

I've had great success with VLCD previously (CWP) but it's so expensive and find I got really bored with 'just' shakes, bars and water - I didn't like the mousse or the water flavourings!

I've done a bit of research and I think this is the VLCD for me, I like the flexibility and the little extras like Ribena and how you can have more if your allowance allows...

So here I am, Day 1 done!

Today's packs -
Caramel - Okay
Cheesy pasta - Lots of pepper and paprika = Enjoyable
Vanilla Shake - Okay
Cottage Pie - Edible...

Day 2 - DONE!

Felt a bit 'meeehhhh' today, It will pass in the next few days but still very irritating. Also I seem to have some toilet troubles, not sure what that is about!

I have my nephews 1st birthday party in 3 weeks, unfortunately I don't think there will be much of a change for people to notice - BUTTT we have a big family wedding in September so I will just have to WOW them all then!

Husband is being supportive, very 'in the zone' at the moment. I have even ordered more even though I had an order today! Roll on payday and I can stock up for the whole month :)

Today -
Porridge - Was okay, I don't like cinnamon so not sure what I could add to make it taste nicer?
White Chocolate and Raspberry shake - Not sure I would have again willingly
Lemon Bar - I was nearly sick...
Mushroom pasta - Lots of pepper and paprika and it was actually enjoyable!

I can't wait for my own put together order to arrive!!

Hello! :wavey:

Day 2 - woot! Well done - the toughest part is nearly over! Sounds like you're on a voyage of discovery with the packs - I take it you bought the starter pack? You're brave. :)

It's really good that your husband's on board - makes life much easier.

Hope things carry on going well - I'm sure they will.

Thanks Lily!

Well Day 3 has been pretty easy physically, no headaches or hunger...Just the mental battle!

So todays packs -
Chocolate and cherry shake - Okay
Banana shake - Vile
Tomato soup - lots of pepper added, Okay
Spag Bol - Again, just Okay!

I see people having lots of extras like the noodles etc...I'm not sure about them. I think I want to try stick with the basics then if I 'need' anything I have somewhere to go with it. Well that's the plan!

Today has been mentally challenging!

My order arrived *hooray*, so today has been a little easier than the past two days.

I am struggling with the whole 'food diet' battle that I always go through weeks1/2 - The one that says 'If you exercised some willpower you could do Slimming World and have carbs, and chocolate!' Arrgghhhhhh!

'Go on, quit and do Slimming World'

I'm not quitting, well not today!

Omelette - Had with 50g of mushrooms and enjoyed with lots and lots of black pepper
Praline Bar - Said it was like Mars Bar/Milky Way...I don't think so but best of a bad bunch. Will try melt it or something next time
Chocolate & Hazlenut Shake - I think it will be nicer hot
Spicy Spaghetti - Enjoyed. Glad I order a couple more!

Day 5....

I've been really hungry tonight, so so hungry!

Todays packs -
Mint Choc Bar - LOVELY :-D
Choc Shake - Nice
Mild Curry - VOM - I need ideas to make this edible!
Spag Bol - Had with 200g swede

The swede really really helped, it actually tasted like a meal rather than a pack.

I've booked a hotel in Edinburgh for our 5th Wedding anniversary in September. We are travelling to Glasgow for my cousins wedding (the day after ours) So we're going to travel a few days before. Also going to book afternoon tea, arrange to visit the castle and possibly the zoo or a museum. I can't wait!

I want to be able to enjoy my little staycation - slim and healthy!

Day 6

I have survived my first Saturday, hooray!

My only pack disaster was the chili - never ever again

But overall a good day. Looking forward to my first weigh in on Monday morning (after I've bought some new scales tomorrow!)

Day 7

New scales bought, not sure how they're going to differ from the old ones but I will be taking whichever weight it reads tomorrow without comparison.

I think I may try the 5 packs a day for a week and see if I can see a difference on the scales. As I'm (wayyy) over 17st this is an option for me.

I'll see how I go! x

Day 8....

12.5lbs off!

Including my carb cut down loss of 4lbs I am verrrrrryyyy happy with a 16.5lb loss!

I'm well on my weigh to my first goal of 24lbs by Valentines Day. Nothing special is happening, it's just a date in the diary to use!

Very well done Sparkwillfly. That's an amazing loss. I think we started roughly the same time. I lost 10lb in my first week and I know it really spurred me on to keep going! Hope your loss does for you too!

I think I'm a bit luckier than you in that I seem to like the vast majority of the packs! With the exception of the carbonara! Eurgh! I'm going to subscribe so good luck for the week ahead! :) x

Thanks Lyndsey!

I've had a few super stressful days, not sure how I've mananged to be 100% on plan. I almost wasn't, on more than one occasion!

I had two NHS job interviews yesterday which were really intense. One first thing then one after lunch, couldn't stomach my morning packs, I was so nervous. My car also decided not to start (alternator) so I had to get the bus which took forever and made me even more nervous. I honestly thought I was going to throw up.

I ended the day with a banging headache, I just wanted to go to bed and cry. One job I didn't get, one job I got a 2nd interview for next Wednesday.

Today has been better, I can't seem to fit the 5 packs. I'm going to try again tomorrow then possibly stick to my routine of 4.

I hope this weekend is as easy as last weekend...eeek!

5 packs hasn't happened today. I'm going to stick to my 4 a day.

I'm going to get some slim pasta/rice/noodles tomorrow whilst I'm in town, for yet another job interview! Got another 2 next week (one is a call back from the other day), I'm hoping by next week I'll be 'Employed' rather than 'Self-employed' :)

Really struggling with the cold, not looking forward to my heating bill .

Someone on the FB page compared this to being pregnant - 9 months of not drinking, or eating the stuff you really like (craved pate my entire pregnancy!). I like that idea. 34 weeks to go until our anniversary/cousins wedding - Gosh I hope I can stick it out :/

Jeezo hun! That's a really tough few days you've had there! Well done sticking to plan during all that lot!

Wishing you the best of luck with your job interviews. Fingers and toes crossed for you!at least with such a busy week, it'll be weigh in day before you know it!?!? :)

And yeah, I liked the pregnancy analogy on Facebook too! Not missing the drink as much as I thought I would (only had a few glasses at the weekend) but it's early days. I'll probably miss it soon!

Chin up hun! You've done great to survive this week! :)

Just popping by to see how you're getting on. I totally agree with the comment you made about your brain telling you to go on slimming world. I have been there a hundred times before but I've eventually come to terms with the fact that if I want to lose weight fast then this is the plan for me plus it involves no thinking whatsoever.

Good luck, I'm excited to see how you get on each week xx
