First time on Slim and Save - hopefully last diet?

Well, I have tried (and failed) Exante too many times but I'm sick of my lame excuses and lack of willpower. It's all too familiar and too pathetic when I look back.

So on the 5th Jan and yet another fat christmas I decided to use up my Exante packs and go for it for the whole of Jan. I did a week of Exante starting at 13.7 and finishing on 12.9. I then switched to Slim and Save as the choice seemed alot better. A week on that put me on 12.6 so here we are, week 3 and I have had another 2 weeks worth delivered.

I am hoping for 3 pounds a week, my plan is to switch to Atkins in Feb when my food runs out but the thought of that fills me with dread! I can't stand the thought of all the planning, I just want to add water and go :)

I want to get to 11.13 by the end of the month so fingers crossed.
 
I'm not sure where I've started this thread. I can't find it in diaries :) whoops! I'm a prolific daily weigher and now I'm in my 3rd week it's a little depressing that it's not coming off everyday but I'm now dropping fat not water so I'll get over it if my clothes get looser! I feel alot less bloated since I started so that's something and Im not going to get to the end of Jan and wish I had started my diet.... Because I did and I'm lighter.

Roll on Sunday weigh day, that cheers me up :)
 
Could someone move this into diaries? I have started it in the wrong section! Whoops :)

Had a sneaky mid week weigh in today and I'm 12.5 so another pound off. I do hope I can shift another 2 off by Sundays weigh in. I turn 35 next month and can only hope I'm well into the 11's by then.

Still finding the diet fairly easy but struggling to exercise. I walk to and from school twice a day and take the dog for a walk mid afternoon, it just tires me out so much. I'm hoping to get back to the gym but I think I'll struggle whilst doing slim & save. Anyone got any tips?
 
Thank you Sparkswillfly, I feel determined I just hope my willpower doesn't leave me!

Has anyone got any advice switching from a vlcd to Atkins? I want to get back to the gym and I just don't have the energy on Slim & Save :(
 
Well as I'm a serial weigher of course I weighed in this morning and I was 12st 3. Brilliant, just want to take another half a pound off to keep me on track for 3.5 pound off a week. Last slim and Save weigh in on 1st Feb before I switch to Atkins. I really want to get into the 11's!! 11.13 and three quarters will do me ha

Official weigh in and I'm 12.3, disappointed not to get that extra half a pound off but a 3 pound loss is really great. I had 3 eggs scrambled yesterday as I was feeling a bit fed up but it didn't help.

I'm feeling better today, my last week on Slim and Save and I can't believe I've done 3 weeks already! I did have a huge 4 stone to lose and now I've got 2 stone 10. So I guess my first mini goal is to.lose 10 pounds taking me to a 2 stone loss.

Would be nice to get into the 11's but a 4 pound loss is a big ask for the 4th week into any diet
 
I've got a night out on the 7th so I don't know whether to stay on Slim and Save until then or start Atkins when I'd planned? I may post on Atkins and see what they think, I think I am dreading putting any back on it when I've worked so hard to get it off?

Struggled this weekend and also today to some degree, I'm not sure if it's because I know I only have a few days left 100%. A bit like when you've booked a holiday and the week before you go into holiday mode at work :)

Daily weighing is no good in the 4th week of any diet as the scales won't budge day by day so I'm going to attempt to leave them alone til Sunday. I'll try very hard!

I will treat myself to a new dress next week as a well done for being so strong this month. Sticking to one of these diets is so bloody hard but worth it as my skinny jeans aren't skinny any more and a jumper I bought before Xmas now fits me a treat whereas my stomach made it impossible before Slim and Save
 
I think the inch loss has now caught up with my weight loss. My size 14 underwear is hanging off me and so are my jeans! Yippee, it's days like this that spur you on. Also a friend came round for a brew today and commented on my weight which was lovely to hear as I haven't seen her since before Xmas.

Going to celebrate with a mint choc bar :)
 
Scales haven't moved for a few days, still 12.3 so the 3.5 pounds is looking more and more unlikely but this is why you don't weigh daily I guess. It hasn't put me off, I'm still working towards seeing the 11's if not Sunday then definitely next week. I am taking daily walks but am desperate to start doing weights again as they really change your body shape quickly just still don't have the energy.

I have found an excellent way to wake your bowels up in the morning? I know on this diet we sometimes struggle but drinking a litre of cold water in the morning as quickly as you can gets everything moving (sorry if TMI!)
 
I can't believe I've stuck to this all month! If you knew what An excuse maker I usually am it's a miracle!

2 days to go until I can switch to Atkins :) but I'm not of course until these packs (and the exante ones are gone so maybe another few days. I don't mind though, now you can see my weight loss it's really spurred me on.

2015 and I'm no longer an excuse making whinger :)
 
12.1 today :) 2lbs off which isn't exactly what I wanted but good nonetheless. I'm weighing today as I promised myself a treat if I stuck to this for a month.

My treat will be king prawn foo young from the Chinese, no rice or chips so all atkins friendly (close anyway). I had visions of eating chocolate, pizza and other goodies on this day but I can.honestly say I don't want any of that. Amazing!
 
Well done. It's always disappointing when you just miss a target but you have done so well.
I started on 5th jan did 2 weeks 100% and lost 16lb then have had 2 weeks of slipping up and haven't lost anything. Gonna do 2 more weeks 100% and hopefully get into the 11s too before adding a meal x

Congrats on your loss this week, I know it's not what you wanted but another week should see you into the 11's no problem!
Are you going to keep posting in this thread while doing Atkins? Would love to keep following your journey and you've been so supportive of mine! :)

Need to see someone getting into the lower figured to keep me spurred on. The 11's (and eventually 10's) feel a million miles away to me at the moment!.

I know how you feel about the no energy as well. I kept waiting for that energy surge people talk about once you hit ketosis and it just never came. I can function doing my daily tasks but there's nothing left over. I bought a yoga dvd for some light exercise to do on plan and at the end of week 3 it's still in the wrapper! Lol

Lyndsey, I'm so glad you feel the same about the energy thing. I thought it was just me :) I'm really struggling with the notion of coming off slim and save! I really enjoy doing it and love the results, going to do another week and see how I feel. I may do it in the week then try an Atkins friendly meal on the weekend? I really want to see an 11 something this week, it's only 2 pounds away and it may seem silly but it would really mean something to me. At 11.10 I'm classed as having a normal BMI so that's a nice little goal isn't it?

Bikini body, I think we are at the same place weight wise. We'll stay strong for each other and we will see the 11's! I want to get to 11.6 really as that's closer to the 10 mark than the 12 mark ha ha. It's all psychological this weight loss malarkey isn't it?

Had my treat this weekend, went to bed with terrible indigestion and an uncomfortable full feeling (I used to enjoy that feeling ha!) so although nice at the time I felt so guilty then around tea time yesterday I was so hungry I had 2 sausages! Ugh, back on it today with a vanilla shake made warm with a shot of coffee. Lovely :)
 
Well according to BMI my maximum healthy weight should be 10.6 but don't think I will get that low. I'm hoping I can get to 11 eventually but would be happy mid 11s x

I am 5'8 so that extra few inches means I can carry a few extra pounds but in reality those extra pounds hang around my waist and chin :) at 10 stone I was a nice size 12 which is good for my height. I'd like to get down to 9.7 so I always have that half stone buffer but I haven't been that low since my teens. I always hovered at 11.7 after the birth of my first son then around 13 stone after my second son. No more babies for me, I can't afford the extra weight! :)
 
I'm only 5"4. At 12 stone I'm a 14.
After my 1st and not realising I couldn't eat like a pig still I went up to 15st 2lb :-((
Then I lost 2 stone fell pregnant again and went up to 14st 13lb and my sons 1 at the end of the month and have managed to get down to 12st 2lbs at the moment. X

Wow, you've done so well. I spent the first year after my son's birth hiding from the camera, I really regret That but afTer I hit goal (yes I was there once) I couldn't get enough of the camera :)
