On a diet - boooo

I've just ordered my first meals, not sure how long they will take to arrive. I've never been on a real diet. I've always eaten like a horse and exercised to compensate. I had a baby last year and she's now 6 months, I weighed 2 weeks after birth and gained 7lbs. 6 months on its turned into 2 stone 7lbs. I'm really demotivated, having a baby is hard work but I also have the responsibility of being carer for my father in law. His wife died 1 weeks before my girl was born and he has Parkinson's disease. So it's been a very hectic 6 months and I've thought about everyone but myself.

So I want something to get me back on track. I know this plan is a 'quick fix' but that is what I need.

So here is my diary, to record my ups and downs. I hope to follow some of you for ideas and support.

I'll post start weight once pack arrives.

Hi Sarah, your pack should probably be with you by Tuesday. Bet you can't wait to get started, I was the same. What packs have you gone for? My tastes have changed so much. If you go off things you can always sell them or swap them on the slim and save swap shop. The first week is tough, very tough, but you can do it. Will be following your progress x

I've gone for a whole mixture of everything. I'm not a fan or porridge, so I've chosen either the eggs or a shake for breakfast each day. Then the food packets for the 2nd meal, then cook a meal. Then also have a bar for each day. If it works and I like it then I will know what to order next time. If the bars arnt filling then I guess I could have a shake or meal when I order next time.
I'm expecting the first week to be extremely hard, I'm excited but petrified. But worried about the portion sizes as I'm a big eater.

Do you make the shakes with water or milk? I've always drank almond milk but I think I'll have to buy skimmed.

Hi Sarah, yeah you have to jig around with the planner to stay under. Chocolate and Coconut/Chocolate Praline are the lowest cals, Scrambled egg is high so I've never bothered with it. Oatmeal is lower, I quite llike porridge so I have that or oatmeal. Have a look at the lower cals meals. You get a fair bit of meat for 100g and the veg is all cooked weight too, swede is a good one. Some veg is lower than others. The first week you are going to be starving - no two ways about it, BUT after that you won't be hungry, so smaller portions will be enough.

Thanks. I'm gonna need all the motivation and support I can get. Especially after nights like last night. I have such a good little girl, she's slept through the night since 4 weeks old and she was breastfed until 5 months. Last night was the first she woke and I'm exhausted, she was hot and hungry and in the end slept with us in our bed.

Hopefully my pack will arrive tomorrow, can't wait to start. Even tempted to make a low carb healthy breakfast tomorrow morning so that if it arrives tomorrow is my first day.

I've got a four year old who wakes very early and a 1 year old who still doesn't sleep through so I feel your pain. Spreading your food out across the day helps if you've been up a long time helps as do early nights! :)

Day 1

Weight = 199.5lbs :( Bmi = 29.5 = Overweight :mad:
Size = 16

So i've got up and had a low carb, healthy breakfast, an omlette. I'm just going to wait patiently for my order to arrive and hope it is around lunch and not towards the end of the day. My planned day.

Breakfast - Omlette with mushroom and spinach
Lunch - Chocolate Shake
Dinner - Chilli Con Carne with broccoli
Snack - Dark Chocolate Truffa

Drinks - Water...Water....Water and black coffee. I need to buy some tea bags and make it more interesting.

So thats my planned day, if my order doesnt arrive I may just try and last as long as I can.........I'll be starving.
I've planned it to use water to make shake? Is that right? or should I be using milk?

P.S my profile photo is my inspiration. I was a fab size 10/12 here 5ft9. I need to lose 2 and a half stone to reach this weight. My target loss it 3stone. I was happy here at that weight but was still classed as overweight, so by losing 3stone I will be 'normal'

At the end of August my girl will be one and we are going to book a mini photoshoot for her. So my aim is to hit my target by then. Just over 5 months.

So we are the same height and want to lose about the same! We can motivate each other :D I usually get an email telling me an hour time slot for my delivery, have you checked your emails? Good luck this week, I'll keep an eye on you!

Oh no. Well maybe a low carb lunch and start later.

Cappuccino Shake for breakfast was okay, think I'll warm it up next time so is like a latte.
Took girl to baby group and as we left I have 2 bites from the honey bar. Then lunch was Spag Bol. I either put too much water in or it was very soupy. Anyway it tasted quite nice to be honest and the sauce made it go longer. Almost had a bite of my girls rusk lol but didn't.

The spag bol is very watery, its not just you! I preferred the spicy spaghetti and chilli.

Omg what a week to start a diet. Flu seems to have gone but have a horrible cough. Not had a period since Nov 2013 as I only stopped breastfeeding 6 weeks ago. But I swear it's coming. I feel so bloated and have a stomach ache...bleugh

My baby had an appointment today and we had to walk, also walk to playgroup. No car as husband has it for work, his is having some work done. My iPhone says I've done 14thousand steps. Usually it only says 3000 lol. I'm knackered.

And all I've had it a shake, bar and Spag Bol. Counting down the hours for tea at 6. Salmon & Veg and a cup of tea later tonight. I'm currently munching on some cucumber which is part of my veg allowance.

If I can stick to it feeling this rough then I'm sure I'll be fine.
P.S not keen on both the bars so far. Taste like fudge....I'm not a sweet lover. Think I'll get just meals/shakes next time
