Started my Dukan refeed

So I've finally run out of sns meals and considering I am well within my goal weight I thought it was time to stop and go on to Dukan, like Weasey.
To save time, I'm just copying and pasting my dukan diary thread here. Weasey if you're here could you possibly have a look at what I'm eating and see if you think it's ok?? Thanks!

My stupid phone won't let me type too much so I have to reply to myself !

Hi everyone,

Today is a massive day for me. Since June I have been doing the slim and save VLCD and I have gone from 13 stone 12 to 9 stone 9lb. I'm now a size 10/12 and feel brilliant however I cannot do this forever and so I have turned to Dukan for my refeed/maintenance.

It's been so very very long that I have eaten anything other than chicken, salmon, ham, eggs or very few vegetables that I am really daunted by it all. It's scary. I'm very worried that I will put the weight back on, I don't ever want to be so overweight and miserable again. :-(

BUT, on a lighter note I have always planned to do a dukan style refeed and then his consolidation (300 days for me!) and then stabilisation. The VLCD worked wonders for me but I feel dukan can be a lifelong way to eat sensibly.

So after hours of convincing myself to start Dukan I made my first galette this morning, it was delicious and extremely filling (my stomach has shrunk SO much due to the vlcd). I had the galette 4 hours ago and I am still very full, I went for a long walk with my dog and I got fuller as I walked!

I have so many questions and need so much help. I'm not going straight into conso as its just too much of a shock to my system, I'm going to have to gradually introduce bread, cheese (eeeeeks) and the celebration meals ( do you call them gala meals?)

I went shipping yesterday and. Bought loads of things I think I could use chicken, lean steak, eggs, quark, squash, non fat yogurt if all kinds, oat bran, yeast (to make dukan bread) apples, broccoli, sugar free jelly, prawns, fish etc.

Am I ok having onken vanilla yogurt or should I stick with ww toffee and vanilla - how many pots can I have a day?

Ooh, also, rhubarb? Is that one of my allowed vegetables (I was planning on having it with dukan muffins and yogurt for breakfast!)

I'm off to Asda now for some silicone moulds for bread and quiche things along with some more jellies and stuff.

I have already had lots of pointers but if there is anything you could tell me about the plan with regards to shopping I would be very grateful.

Thank you so much!

Oh, here's my meals so far today

B- sweet galette, small handful of goji berries.
Snack - SF jelly, water coffee
Snack - tomatoes with red onion and basil
Lunch - Dukan quiche
A taste of the oatbran muffins I made for later this week
Tea - chicken thighs in curry powder/paste with natural yogurt

Lots of water, tea and coffee AND diet dandelion and burdock (yummy!)

Sounds like you've been enjoying your new menu! I have seen the replies to your menu on the Dukan forum so I won't repeat any of those comments. I don't blame you for being a little concerned about the bread and cheese. I never did do the cheese thing - just a bit too dangerous for me... I have recently stopped having the bread too as it bloats me and makes me feel uncomfortable. I think I may be slightly wheat intolerant. Enjoy your new menu!

Thanks Weasey,

No, the bread and cheese can wait, it's scary enough eating tomatoes, veg and rhubarb with sweetener (not all together I might add!) I can't believe how much food I am actually eating. This morning I put my clothes on and was surprised that they still fitted me (after starting refeed yesterday!) it's getting into my subconscious too, I'm having nightmares!

It's funny but around 8pm I do start craving my nightly Choc milkshake, I miss it! Luckily I have just started my teaching practice with uni so I have lots to take my mind off food. The school I'm at is a stones throw from home so I can nip back at dinner for some quick dinner (I haven't yet got a set 'bank' of meals that I can rely on).

It also seems to be costing a lot of money to eat 'normally' again as I need a steady supply of food (though the fortnightly £60 to sns isn't missed!)

Thanks very much Weasey. I will let you know about (official) weight on Sunday!

Good luck for Sunday! I rely mainly on fish/meat/eggs and veg/salad. Really simple meals and quick to prepare but I really enjoy them. I personally don't buy any special Dukan foods or anything. When I go out for food I have chicken tikka (no masala!) or chicken tandoori in an Indian, or I'll have steak and salad. Unless of course it's my celebration meal (you can call it celebration or gala - it's just different translations of the book into English). If you're interested you can see my food diary on MFP (although it isn't very interesting!).

What day will you do your protein day on?

Hi, I had a sneaky weigh in this morning and I have gained 1 and a half lbs. I was expecting more really as sns says to gain 4-5lb. How much did you gain when you came of VLCD?

I definitely will look at your food diary, are you called Weasey on that too?

I THINK my protein day will be Wednesday, starting tomorrow. I think the hardest thing is planning what to eat each day so I don't get hungry and slip up!

I came very slowly off the VLCD (over around 12 weeks) so I'm not sure about the weight gain at the end of ketosis. It took me a while to find Dukan and decide to use it as a maintenance plan.

I'm weaseytoo on MFP.

I think it's such a big change from a VLCD to eating conventional food again that it all takes lots of work initially. It does settle down and become easier though. That's one of the reasons why I like being on a plan - when I am faced with choices I can just ask myself what is on plan and go with that. For somereason that makes things a lot easier for me. Like I've made the choice to be on plan and so I don't have to make a choice every time I'm offerred something to eat.

Sounds like you've found your mojo with Dukan Weasey! I'm really enjoying it, it's getting a little easier and less stressful now I have a small 'bank' of foods I can keep in the house.

Thanks for your advice, I'll look for you on MFP. I'm kellmo80
