As we have lots of new members giving slim and save a whirl and there is so much great information and tips on here , I thought it might be nice to have a one stop shop of tips for them to refer to

Keep it simple , no chit chat , just tips :D Ill start ....

- Make the vanilla shake hot and add a spoon of coffee to make a lovely warming latte

- Make the red fruits shake up with half the amount of water and freeze , makes a lovely sorbet type frozen desert

- When you place your order you can specify how many of each pack you would like in the Information box

- Cut your bars into tiny slivers , it goes alot further one piece at a time

If at first you dont like the hot meal packs, doctor it, add mixed herbs, lea and perrins, garlic granules, chilli flakes, anything to make it appeal to your taste buds

The best way to know how the products taste or compare with other vlcd products that you have already used is to order samples from S&S and try them out ;)

Be experimental with your protein allowance, so that you dont get bored! you are allowed 100g of protein and 200g of certain veggies! i like tofu fried in 2 squirts of fry light with loads of herbs, also i do quorn this way and chicken! but if im having fish that goes in the oven!

The chocolate shake is lovely, if you blend it with the required amount of water and pop in the microwave for 1min 30secs. I sometimes add a spoon of coffee to change the flavour!

Chicken or fish doesn't have to be bland you can add some of the seasonings and coating schwartz does like the spicy etc...

Make sure there is no sugar, citric acid or and citrus peel in them.

On schwartz website there is a page with the shakers and all the nutritional info about them .

Sometimes they can make a piece of chicken taste like a whole diff thing. I also coat the chicken cook/cool then chop up if we are out for the day so it is protein to nibble on and fill us up(in with our allowance).

Some really useful tips thank you ladies.

Are you ok to microwave shakes? I used to do this with Cambridge, but you weren't supposed to.

I'm going to order some supplies tomorrow

- cheapest way of buying is to go for the mens 5 a day pack as it's cheaper per item

- experiment with water content in the shakes, I have them from between a few tsps up to 350ml!

- liven up salad with Salad Light sprays or using dry herbs, there are pre-mixed little tubs in Asda.

- use live chat or email on the S&S site for any question, however small, they are lovely and have some of the best customer service I've ever encountered!

- when placing a big order ask, they may give you a code for discount P&P

- the veg and protein weight is after you cook it, things like brocolli weight less after cooking

- if in Ikea, the little milk frothers for £1 are great. I got one on Ebay for £2.50

- keep a bar in your bag, car, desk, wherever just in case. I keep a few of everything at work!

- read all the stickies for great recipe tips for the packs

- you don't have to use milk in the crispy shakes, I never have done! Some people save this milk allowance to use in tea/coffee during the day

- in my opinion the porridge tastes exactly the same whether you make it with milk or water , so save the milk and treat yourself to a milky coffee

Thanks for the tips im starting tomorrow and the ideas are a great help. How big does the order have to be to get the p&p discount?

Email or go on live chat, this is something you have to ask for not a general code. Maybe ask the same question to them, see what they say. I was told if it was over a months worth I could get £4.99 off which paid for my order as it wasn't urgent.

Thank you i never would have thought to ask. My sis and me are going to do it so will def ask the question

This is a great tip!! Thanks....

The mens packs are exactly the same then....
Thanks for that???

X

Exactly the same, you just get 140 items for £149.99 rather 84 for £98.99 or 112 for £124.99. The difference is not much, pennies per item, but I intend to do this for a few months so any saving is good! Plus easier having the whole lot delivered at once, I have enough in for the next 5 weeks or so.

Thanks for this, looks like my sis & me will be ordering the 5 a day & splitting it to see how we go. I can't wait to get started xo

I think it's a case of Minimins won't allow open swapping of packs on forum posts Moosh. What you do via a PM or Facebook or whatever is your own affair as long as you don't start the process on the forum.
