I can't control my sugar cravings :'(

Ok so I keep stop-starting since I restarted S&S, because I just can't control my sugar cravings.

My mum isn't on a diet, so she still has things in the cupboard and I literally can't stop myself from having some, it's like something overtakes my brain and I can't resist it, even though it makes me sad :(

I don't know how to overcome this, is there anything that helps subdue sugar cravings? I feel so desperate here, I just want to be free of it

I'm a sugar addict too so I
Totally get how you feel. The thing is you CAN control your brain, it just takes time and practise. Trying these might help-
Stay out of the cupboards/ places where your mum keeps the treats. Put your s n s stuff somewhere else so you can access it without seeing all the goodies!!

Everytime you feel like having a sugary treat, stop, grab a pad and pen and sit for 5 minutes listing all of the great things you will be able to do when you lose weight. E.g play sports, fit into smaller jeans etc.

Buy a smaller item of clothing, keep looking at it as motivation!

When you crave sugar you need to do something to keep yourself busy, start a hobby, read a book, go for a bath...

Some people find the bars satisfy sugar cravings but for me I just can't stop at one so they are a no no. Maybe have some s and s water flavouring, the orange is pretty sweet. I know it's not the same as chocolate etc but you've gotta decide what you want more- chocolate or weight loss/ better health.

If there is some kind of pill or herb that helps to subdue sugar cravings I'd love to know too :). I think changing our minds is the only real way to solve it though!

Good luck :)

Sit down and think where you really want to be. I always sit and look on clothes online on stores like river island :) you will get there I just looks t chocolate now and think hmm I love you but your mean and make me fat and gain weight. Also I have a crispy shake into a pudding when I crave :)

I read in one of the many things I've had my head buried in about dieting and stuff that a chromium supplement will help with sugar/carb cravings.... I got mine from Holland and barrett and it seems to do the job.... Placebo.... who knows but i certainly dont seem to crave the sweet stuff as much....

Now if they could now find something to stop me wanting cheese that'd be ace!!!!

This seems like a really good idea you know, it might take a proper concentrated plan in order prevent me from making sugar mistakes. I feel like it's just controlling me at the moment. It's this whole thing of 'food is the only thing that makes me feel better', yet it's the thing thats preventing me from feeling better in other ways.

I read about that chromium stuff, does it genunely work? Like are your cravings noticeably less? And do you feel more in control? I feel like I may need these. I remember I took those infamous 'Fruta Planta' tablets before and they completely stopped my appetite but i started to get a really hard heartbeat so I knew that there must be some kind of amphetamine type substance in there to do that, so I stopped them straight away. It's a shame because they totally worked. And I always save cheese eating for christmas so I can have it with those variety boxes of crackers!

I honestly feel its working for me...... Been taking em about a month now!! X

Ok, I'm defo gona try these! I need to really get myself together as my time is runnning out!

I did it today guys! I had a MASSIVE temptation and I was so on the edge of getting a whole bag of Caramel Nibbles and a caramel RIce Krispie Square, and I took about 5 minutes to struggle with my brain pushing me to get it, but I resisted! It was honestly the most difficult food related thing I think i've ever done, but I did it! I was 100% today! Now I know I can always do it if I really want to! Yay me!

On another note, i bought those chromium pills and it did NOTHING for my sugar cravings :( I wanted to get Glutamine cos apparently that\s meant to have an almost instant effect on your sugar cravings, but it was SO expensive in H&B, so I went for the chromium. It had no effect whatsoever for me though, so I was kind of bummed out.

Yeah it probably will take a few days :( I wanted instant effects, lol! I have two bottles of it, so I'm going to take them every day

I noticed its better as you go along.... after a week or so...

Well I was 100% today again, and the sugar cravings weren't there but the emotional cravings were, which was weird as it's the first time i've felt it without the sugar craving on top. I don't know if the chromium has began to work after only the second day, but i think it might have.
