I'm feeling the very same, but I'm so focused about getting to my goal weight that I'm not at all worried about getting back into the zone which is the only reason I'm allowing myself 7 days off plan over Xmas to eat out with family, my only worry is just how much I'm going to re-gain .

I took a night off last month for my birthday and gained a fair bit so I dread to think how much damage im going to do over Xmas especially as most of the places we are eating out are not carb friendly as I have a 3 course Christmas dinner, 3 course Chinese buffet, 3 course steak pie dinner, 3 course Italian meal (pasta pasta pasta), 3 course Indian meal etc etc, are you getting the picture.

I'm not going to let myself worry about it because i have had a really rotten year so I really want to enjoy Xmas but my losses have been so low (1 and 2lb a week) that I'd hate to get to January and be right back where I started .

I don't want to be constantly watching what i eat every time we go out so what I have done to try and ease my worry is very cleverly arranged the meals (most of them anyway) so that there is at least 2/3 days between each one so I can eat what i want when im out with family but be 100% on plan on the days in between in the hope it helps minimise the damage.

I am having 7 days off plan so if I re-gain 7lbs or less over xmas ill be happy with that x

I know what you mean I have 2 meals out, Xmas, 2 buffets and a wedding to go to but like you I may try and have packs on the days I'm not doing anything it's just worrying as I get really bad headaches when going back into ketosis so I May just try and eat meat and limited veg so I'm having a few carbs then start back 100% after new year! I don't know I will probably change my plan again nearer the time!! X

Well it usually takes me 4/5 days to get back into ketosis so the headaches don't usually kick in for me until day 4 so as I will be eating out every 3rd day I won't have the chance to go anywhere near ketosis which means no headaches but also means I'll probably be hungry instead, but I can be strong knowing that another day off won't be far away but I will get in some cold meats and salad so if I feel myself getting weak and heading for the tin of Roses chocolates I can whip myself up a nice ham and egg salad x

I think the trick to not being disappointed with a gain after days off is pretty simple....expect it and you won't be let down. If you just hope that eating will have no effect then you're quite likely to be disappointed and when you feel this way it's harder to get back in the zone. I'm only having one day off but I'm telling myself to expect a gain that week so when I weigh in I won't feel bad. Does that make sense? xx

I was very nervous! Yesterday I had my first day off and went nuts! But I felt so rubbish after, that it's been a delight to be back on packs today! I hope I learn from this and don't go nuts over Christmas, I just need a better strategy in place low carb as far as possible, keep using packs alongside - for me, on hol, breakfast can be low carb, and lunch isn't provided so can be a pack. This'll just leave me with the evening meal to contend with!
    Week 1 (SW): -1 lb

You are totally right Jewel I think we just get disappointed with ourselves when we set unrealistic goals and have unrealistic expectations.

Over a 3 week period i am having 7 days off so for every day I'm having off I'll be having 2 days 100% on plan but I know even that's not going to stop me gaining so I'm still allowing for a 7lb gain, of course im hoping its less but i am aware it could be even more if I go crazy on my days off.

In my mind having a nice Xmas with my family is worth having to stay on the plan a few extra weeks so I'm not going to be too hard on myself x

That's a good idea, better to give yourself a high leeway than a low one because then things can only be better when it comes to the scales x
