Out of date packs

After years of putting on weight even when I was trying to lose it, I've had my lightbulb moment.

Now I need to use up all my leftover packs from all my half hearted attempts. Now I know we can use out of date packs because they don't really gout of date as such, eventually will lose flavour I know that.

But I just wondered whether anyone has used out of date packs and what's the oldest date. I have some from 2012!

I don't think you can. It's more than just the flavour, the nutrients etc begin to break down and so I don't think it would be a good idea to use them. Check with the company themselves to be sure.

On the forums the staff are advising they are fine. Its just a best before date. Drop them an email x

Pretty sure they've never advised that for 2 years out of date!

I think they'll say packs a few weeks or so out of date are fine but not 2 years. As someone else said the nutrients etc will be affected. You wouldn't consider eating anything you found in a cupboard that had a 2012 sell by date :)

Im sure these will be bin bound

I do, if it is a 'best before date' apart from fresh eggs and fresh dairy (e.g. milk), 'best before' means that nutritional values and flavour may be impaired but the product won't harm you. I have many tins of things I use well past their sell by date. I also use my packs after the date- I don't even look at them. I take a multivitamin as I tend to do lifestyle anyway, and take it in the morning so if I end up on a simplicity day I still have my vitamin :/ I always smell my food before I eat it, and if it smells funny I tend not to consume it. I know that staff were unsure but they asked their nutritionist and it's ok.

I'm actually a qualified nutritionist and would by no means EVER recommend or condone using packs TWO YEARS after their best before date. Yes you've got extra time to use them after that and they'll be fine but not two years after.

Ive used ones a couple of months out but you should only mix one a day into fresh ones and years out of date doesnt seem good.
I also had some bars that were out and tried one and ..no!

The reason I asked was because I DO eat food that is out of date.

If it doesn't smell off then its fine as far as I am concerned. I do have a lot of packs in date but wasn't sure what to do with the old ones. I found a tin of baked beans that expired late 2012. They were fine!

Hello
I am confused that what are you exactly talking about...is it for weight loss or date diet you are doing after putting weight...
