Too many packs????

Hi all,

I am a failed bander but do quite well on vlcd when I'm on them. I have previously been on Cambridge Diet and followed the sole source plan having 3 packs a day. Occasionally I did Sole Source plus and had the low carb/ high protein meal. Weight loss was averaging 3lb a week.

Still with me? So I decided to give Slim and Save a go as a) cheaper b) more variety. Lost 6lbs the first week, 2 the next then 3. All good so far. But last week I lost 1lb - one poxy pound. I've had a sneaky mid week weigh in and have lost nil, nada, nothing so far.

I have an inkling that I am eating too much although completely within the guidelines and I am struggling to get all the packs down! I am on simplicity so have 4 packs and usually have the 200g veg as a side salad to my evening meal.

My question is how come on sole source on Cambridge I had 3 packs but on Slim and Save I have 4 on the same kind of plan plus veg. I do enjoy slinging some mushrooms cooked in fry light in a spag Bol but wondered if I could drop the 4th pack as I think it's slowing down my weight loss. What do you think peeps???

Why don't you do 3 products and a meal then on slim and save? Your calorie intake on 4 packets of slim and save will be less than 800 calories a day which is still a vLCd x

Hi there. I am worried a meal every day will hinder my loss as the 4 packs seem to have. I'm tempted to alternate between 3 packs one day then 3 packs and meal the other.

No... you're ok, you're not doing anything wrong! It's incredibly common to have weeks where pounds don't come off. Normal in fact. Bodies aren't machines - they don't understand you're trying to lose weight, and because it's happening fast, your body is simply trying to protect you by retaining water. Many people find that on the weeks where they don't lose pounds they lose inches instead.

Skipping shakes and/or meals won't make you lose weight any faster - in fact, it might slow things down all the more, because you need the protein etc for your body to do the job of losing fat properly. You're doing ok - stay off the scales! If you stick to the plan, the weight will come off in its own time - there's nothing you can do to hurry things up. :)

Happy to help. I think when we redid the kitchen last month I threw out my old Cambridge weight measurement cards, but I remember the pattern of weightloss was bizarre - 3 pounds off one week, 4 the next, 2 the next, 3 the next, then nothing - yes, nothing  then the next week - 5 pounds... All sticking to SS, drinking at least 3 litres of water. Wish it would come off in nice even amounts! :)
