Indian

Hi i'm going out for an indian on monday night, will be an extra easy day from the previous threads i can see that chicken dhansak, rogan josh or chicken jalfrezi would be the best choice... trouble is i've only ever had korma before and have no idea what the three taste like/how spicey??
thanks for your help in advance:confused::(

Dhansak is a sweet and sour dish. It is usually medium strength. Rogan Josh is a tomato based dish I have had this where it has been medium strength but also can be quite spicy it just depends on where you go. Finally Jalfrezi is a hot dish made with chillis so if you usually have korma I would definetley avoid this one.

HTH

The only thing I'd like to add is that Dhansak has a lentil base. I don't like lentils personally so this is a no no for me.

Yeah, a chicken dhansak does have chicken in it - the lentils are just there as a thick sauce, not lentily lentils if that makes sense :)

Hi, i went for an indian last night with some ex colleagues and after reading this post I also had the chicken dhansak with boiled rice. It's now my new favourite curry and I can't wait to have again. You wouldn't know it had lentils in it, they are blended to make the sauce thicker, the menu also said include pineapple which put me off but it was just a pineapple ring which I left in the dish. I also thought to myself why do I ever eat fried rice, it is so heavy, the boiled rice didn't leave me with that usual stuffed and bloated feeling. At 6.5 syns it was the best meal out ever:)

Hi everyone, I am wanting to celebrate my weight loss so far (17lbs in 4 weeks) with a curry tomorrow with my OH. I usually have korma - but I after reading this thread I going to try the chicken dhansak with boiled rice :)
