Chinese??

Plain boiled rice would be free, as would plain chow mein I think :) Egg fried rice is something like 3 syns for a tub (oil used is the syns), so not too bad at all.

I have boiled rice with beef and mushrooms 4.5 syns or chicken in oyster sauce and boiled rice 4.5 syns

I'd have chow mein with chicken and king prawn - its yummy, filling and only 7.5 syns!

It's so annoying as they never say what syns are in any vegetable dishes (apart from stir fry). How many syns in veg curry, veg blackbean, veg kung po, veg satay etc?

id imagine it would just be the same as both chicken and veg is free its all the other bits that accumulate the sins :)

Chicken and Mushroom at 5.5syns per portion with boiled rice is my new choice for chinese.

Trouble is the book doesn't explain what a "portion" is? The tub could contain 2 of their "portions" for all I know! So to be on the safe side I double that up for the day and call it 11 syns so that I'm fairly sure I'm keeping to plan :)

I go for beef and blackbean with green pepper everytime with boiled rice. 5syns. I found this list too might be helpful Slimming World Takeaway syn list :) - General chat - YouAndYourWedding

This is really helpful - although it doesn't give the ee values and I assume that they aren't necessarily going to be the same. I mean if they have both meat and noodles such as chicken chow main on green and red you have some free and some with values whereas on ee both parts would be free food and only the sauce/oil if used would have a value.

I had chinese for the first time since starting SW. I had king prawn chow mein and chicken in oyster sauce  Was really good and great for a lower synned treat. Think next time ill have either chow mein alone or chicken in oyster sauce with boiled rice. Nice to know that we can still eat this kind of food and lose weight!

Very happy!!! :) :D :bliss:

isn't plain chow mein still fried though? so it wouldn't be free as they'd use sesame oil? confused!

Does anyone have any idea how much salt and chilli chicken would be? It's coated so I guess a lot :(

Hello all, I usually have chicken chop suey it's 5.5syns for 300g serving. I also get noodles with it which is syn free. The chicken and mushroom is 5.5syns for 340g serving xx

I ask my local Chinese to cook my chow mein without oil which they do for me.
