Is there anything from costa that is either free or low syn? I love going and it's going to be a sticky spot for me to overcome. I usually have a latte or the new berry coolers ?

According to my SW app - Iced Americanos are- primo 1syn, medio 2, Massimo 3 - Iced tea peach primo 3 syns - Costa Light skimmed milk (eat in) primo 3.5 syns but takeaway is 4.5 syns for primo assume its larger
- avoid their nutty flapjack its 21.5 syns lol - hope this helps a little!!

You and me both...

I don't like coffee without milk so Americanos... although free... are not for me. Anything with skimmed milk in you can take 6 syns off and count as a HEa. That works out as roughly a medium skimmed latte or large skimmed cappa. Add 5 syns for a medium skinny mocha latte. Syrups are about 1 syn each. Stay away from the coolers as they are very high syns, especially the fruit ones as you can't use HEa for them.

For food... I usually go with the mozzarella pasta with sundried sauce and figure on a couple of syns for the olive oil in it and count the cheese as my other HEa on a green day. Obviously sandwiches and paninis have loads of syns - but I guess you could take 6 syns off for the cheese and count as HEa if you wanted. If you want a hot something then the bacon muffin is 8 syns on a red day.

They do little mini bags of cake and rocky road bites. If you take someone along and persuade them to eat the majority I guess that could be within syns! Alternatively the biscotti (8 syns) or gingerbread biscuits (not sure how many... 10?) are probably the lowest syn sweet treats.

Hope that helps!

What about the sugar free syrups? I had an americano with a splash of sugar free vanilla and didnt syn it...should I have?

Sugar free syrups are free

I've just got a small americao with skimmed milk and sweetner and it's lovely. Feels nice to have a "treat". Everyone in my office drinks either Nero or Costa every single day but I can't justify the cost nor the calories! So i'm glad that every now and again i can be part of the cool coffee gang haha!! x x

A small takeaway latte is made with 320ml milk, so if you have a skinny one and count the milk as your Hex, I calculate it as free :)

Does it have to be specifically Costa? Do you have a Caffe Nero where you are? If so, their regular Cappuccino made with skimmed milk is only 1.5 Syns. I've been grabbing one on my way to work on a morning with a shot of the sugar free hazelnut syrup. Feels like such a naughty "pick me up" on these cold, wintery mornings. But it's actually 100% on plan!! :)

is a skinny latte with sugar free syrup free?

I have counted this as free using my hea since I started slimming world. I have it at least 3x a week.

ok...thanks - my boss bought me one today!!

Hi all, newbie here,I'm a sucker for the vanilla lattes at Costa, however doing Slimming World has caused me to change from full fat milk to skimmed milk. Makes a huge difference and good to know I can still enjoy a low syn version of my favourite coffee! x

not sure about costa

I am not sure about costa, but I know in starbucks if you use skimmed milk as your HEA, then a venti (large) skimmed latte is 4 syns. 350 mls is your HEA and its 2 syns per 100ml skimmed milk after that- A venti is 551 ml milk.

I work in a coffee kiosk and although the cup is 350ml (12oz for a small) there's actually a lot less milk in it than that. A double shot of espresso is generally 50ml and a single is 25ml. Also, the milk is "extended" when it's heated up, I don't know the science behind it but by steaming it it adds airs, and lengthens the milk. Also, Cappucino's tend to have less milk in them than lattes, and they're typically stronger.

I don't know if I've just confused everyone further but I would honestly say a small (12oz) latte or cappucino was only about 200ml of milk at most.
