Hi Everyone,

I've been on the Slimming World plan for 7 weeks and have managed to lose every week :) I'm desperately hoping for my 1st stone this week too.

Next Monday I'm off on a night out with my friends from church, it's a lovely Indian we are going to, and I'd usually have the works, tikka masala, mushroom rice naan bread and popadums.

This time I'm hoping to make all the right choices, i was thinking of having chicken tikka, bengali salad and plain rice, or would a rogan josh be a better option? I think if i can plan in advance i should hopefully be able to avoid all bad choices and stay on track.

So far I've only had a Nandos meal out since joining Slimming World, I'm looking forward to it but am also worried!

Thanks

Hi little,

I've also been pondering eating out at my local favourite Essex Indian but most of the meals I like are high in syns.

I've taken the meals below from SW Syns Online on Extra-Easy days.
The portion size is pretty good, just don't be tempted by any 'extras'

Indian Restaurants/Takeaways, Chicken Tikka Masala, average portion , 360g serving = 14.5 syns
Indian Restaurants/Takeaways, Chicken Tikka Balti, average portion , 375g serving = 11.5 syns

Why not have a Vegetable curry?
Indian Restaurants/Takeaways, Vegetable Jalfrezi, average portion , 375g serving = 7.5 syns

However, there are some good meat options too:
Indian Restaurants/Takeaways, Lamb Rogan Josh, average portion , 360g serving = 6.5 syns
Indian Restaurants/Takeaways, Chicken Vindaloo, average portion , 360g serving = 8 syns
Indian Restaurants/Takeaways, Chicken Tandoori, average portion , 340g serving = 9 syns
Indian Restaurants/Takeaways, Chicken Jalfrezi, average portion , 350g serving = 8.5 syns
Indian Restaurants/Takeaways, Chicken Dhansak, average portion , 350g serving = 6.5 syns

Indian Restaurants/Takeaways, Rice, plain, boiled, average portion , 300g serving = FREE
Salad should also be Free I would think.

Hope this might help.

John

Hi TazDaz!

Thanks for your help, I think I'm going to have to go wild and try something I've never had before:eek:, I really want to enjoy myself but stick within my syn allowance, without going crazy. I'd usually have a lovely creamy Tikka Masala with Naan bread and Bombay Aloo. This time I think I'll be going for the lamb Rogan, Plain rice and diet coke.

Hi Taz!

It went well, infact I've been out a second time for an Indian meal, I had the Lamb Rogan and it was delicious! plain rice and one poppadum with some mango chutney, I stuck to diet coke though.

Have you tried an indian meal yet?

x J
