Which is better...?

Hi, going out for a meal for the first time while on SW and feel quite anxious as I don't want to ruin my hard work. I have already looked at the menu online and there are 2 vegetarian options on the menu - both sound very unhealthy :(

Which option do you reckon is best?

Cheese and onion pie, with wedges and salad , or risotto (no doubt made with butter and cheese).

I looked on the side orders and it doesn't sound like I can swop the wedges (no boiled or jackets).

Thanks!!

But you don't have to have a substitute for the wedges, just tell them to leave them off and give you more salad. Although pie doesn't sound like the best choice.

A risotto will have some butter in it, probably, but maybe not cheese. Why not ring them and ask?

Thanks for your advice! Good call with the salad! Vegetarian options always seem to be very fatty when eating out - apart from Italian where I can have pasta in a tomato sauce!

Sometimes a salad isn't the best option once croutons and dressing is added. Croutons can rack up a whopping 7 syns  If you are on EE, a carvery or roast can be a sensible choice.... you can still enjoy mash, gravy, a couple of roast potatoes along with free meat and veg and stay within your daily limit.

I can't eat a carvery; I'm vegetarian! It is a good option for most people though. Salads usually say if they come with croutons etc. I had risotto and asked for a large side salad with no dressing in the end. The risotto had veg in and wasn't too creamy so it was the right choice.
