Naughty Fridge Picker
Week one

Thursday 11th feb 2010

Breakfast: 28g Asda Cranberry wheats HeB with skimmed milk HeA, and splenda and a tangerine.

Lunch: 2 eggs fried in frylite and mushrooms done in garlic with Baked beans, extra lean (all fat cut off) bacon and a grilled 1/2 tomatoe sprinkled with basil.

Dinner: Beef chilli with rice as featured in Jan/feb Magazine page 60 ... It was YUM!!

Pudding: Chopped in 1/4's strawberrys and chunks of fresh pineapple, sprinkle of spenda, with a strawberry muller light on top of it...Orgasmic!

Snacks: None (shocking for me tbh)

Drinks: Coffee using HeA and sweetners and coke zero and diet water.

Syns: 2 1/2 as I put puree in the dinner recipe and didnt have to and had sugar in my coffee when I was out.

Total 2 1/2

Only thing I will say is the cereal portion is too small and I was still hungry. So wheatabix tomoz.

I was so hungry when I got up I ate my cereal while I waited for the kettle to boil lol

We loved our lunch, might have a go at the SW recipe for hash browns next time. Cos they look yum.

Gona try and keep my syns low this week as I am going out for an Indian on valentines, so damage limitation! lol :)

I have to say I am stuffed! lol The dinner was scrummy, I have put some cooker's tips in the recipe for you guys to make things easier.

So far I have done 5 recipes from the SW mag in Jan/feb since Sunday and there has not been one I haven't enjoyed! Quite happy for you to bookmark my notes on fb as recipes will be going on there frequently, all tried and tested, by me and my familys (2 adults and 3 kids).

I have been putting them on there because I know how sometimes we like the look of things, but are worried about trying them, in case their not pleasant. You will find also on there the SW sausages and ale and onion gravy recipe, and my spaghetti bolognese recipe (which are in winter warmers also, which for some strange reason I cant post in at present). Some of my friends add comments to the recipes, with their own tips and recipes as well:)

Breakfast: Weetabix HeB and Skimmed Milk HeA

Lunch: Prawn pasta salad (1 1/2 syns)

Dinner: Nicky's Speedo Pasta and pork fillet with apple and apricot chutney

recipe -

This recipe can be made in lots of ways, but the main ingredient is as many super free veg as you can squeeze in, and always add the tin of cannellini beans in which are H SS F. You can also blend half of the mixture and have as a chunky soup without the pasta, so its very versatile!!

Ingredients (are a guideline)

Serves 4

1 Lrg onion diced
3 Courgettes halved and diced
1 Lrg Celery stick halved lengthways and diced chunky
7 Mushrooms chunky diced
brocolli cut up chunky
Red pepper diced chunky
Tin chopped mushroom
4 Tbsp tomatoe purée (1/2 sin pp)
1/2 pint vegetable stock
generous salt and pepper
3 Garlic cloves crushed
1 tsp Marjoram
1 tsp Oregano

4 x Lean Pork fillets all signs of fat trimmed off, season how you like it and grill or oven cook to cook
10g per person apple, apricot and ginger Geo organic chutney (1/2 sin pp) put this on the fillet about 5 mins before the end of the meat cooking time. I found this chutney in a health food store, they dont put rubbish in the ingredients, and its very low in sins and great on meat!

200g pasta shapes cooked and put to one side until you need it.

Very easy! Just shove it all into a big massive pot, bring to the boil for approx 15, then simmer on a medium heat for 30 mins, then add the cooked pasta and warm through.

Very filling tasty and healthy!

Pudding: Fruit salad and Mullerlight

Total Syns 2 1/2

Thought i'd try blueberries in my porridge as saw it as a serving suggestion in my mag, and didn't like it at all. Dont know if I can cope with fruit in my porridge. I ate it but only cos I didnt want to waste it lol Might try raspberries, they might be nicer, think it needs to be sweet.

You must try the recipe for dinner, it was totally delicious, although you need a hand blender or food processor to make the pesto, which I do have.

My partner tissy31 made this tonight. The kids all love it. Only comment is the vinegerette gave it a bit of an after taste. Not totally unpleasant or anything, but I think it could be down to the make we used, which had loads of added herbs inc wot looked like chilli!, which I think you don't (asda good for you) need.

Perhaps adding vlf fromage frais or natural yoghurt might counteract this. Despite this it was eaten with much gusto!.

Well we spent all afternoon in Ikea. Didnt mean to spend so long there, and we didnt itend on eating there at all. My partner is Swedish and misses home and we got hungry, so we thought we'd have a flexi day, so we could have a nice lunch.

Not necessarily bad choices, because we made the choice to eat them and use syns in a good way for the rest of the week to make up for it. We have a lot of good meals for the rest of the week, so know we can keep our syns low.

We spent 4 1/2 hours in Ikea, bought stuff for the kitchen lol.

Anyway by the time we came out we were starving again, so ended up having a hotdog, as we still were about an hour away from home. As we bought some Swedish coffee to take home, my partner was drooling at all the naughty stuff, so we bought a pack of 4 Mazarine cake things to have with our hotdog, so she didn't go mad at all the other stuff lol I have to say the cake thing was so yum and I'm due on, so I kinda didnt care lol bad I know, but I am craving sugar so bad at the mo. :(

Had a salad when we got home, but boy do I feel bloated tonight :(
