    Britmum's Photo Food Diary

    Thought I would start a new food diary and hopefully I can manage to stay on track now for the rest of my pregnancy. I am not going to punish myself too much if I have a few days here and there where my focus isn't 100%, as my food aversions still come and go and some days are harder than others and of course the main thing is that I make sure I am eating something for my little growing one.

    You will notice I always add a water section, this is to remind me to drink plenty of water. Which before starting Slimming World I was terrible at and because Slimming World is such a high fibre diet, it is important to make sure you have plenty of fluid alongside it to prevent uncomfortable bloating or even worse constipation. That

    So here goes:

    Tuesday 16th November - Extra Easy

    Breakfast:-
    Boiled Egg
    2 Slices of Wholewheat Toast (HEb)
    low fat spread (1 syn)
    Fat free yoghurt with fresh blueberries and raspberries
    Cup of tea with splash of milk (0.5 syns)

    Lunch:-
    Pasta with homemade Tomato Sauce
    Parmesan Cheese (HEa)
    Banana

    Dinner:-
    Braised Beef (1.5 syns)
    Mash
    Cabbage

    Snacks:-
    Strawberries with light cream (1 syn)
    Skinny Cow fudge icelolly (2.5 syns)
    Salt N Vinegar Sticks (4 syns)

    Syns:- 10.5 syns

    Water:-
    6 glasses

    Grilled Chicken Breast Stuffed with Mozzarella (HEa)
    Roasted Veggies
    Fat Free Natural Yoghurt with sliced apple

    Dinner:-
    Left over Braised Beef (1.5 syns)
    Cabbage
    Jacket Potato with a little low fat spread (1 syn)

    Snacks:-
    Pear
    Skinny Cow Fudge Ice Lolly (2.5 syns)
    Quakers Sweet Chilli Rice Snacks (4 syns)

    Syns:- 11.5 syns

    Water:-
    6 glasses

    I know I know, I haven't been keeping up to date on this at all and decided to today that I really should.

    I have been managing to stick to slimming world most days, but am finding myself feeling very hungry recently, plus I am still suffering with food aversions here and there, which makes it impossible to plan meals. All I seem to want to eat is bread (and lots of it), but have been managing to control myself.

    So here starts my food diary, which I hopefully will keep updated from now on. I am almost at the half way mark through my pregnancy and know the second half is going to be the hardest for keeping my weight under control.

    Saturday 12th December - Extra Easy

    Breakfast:-
    couple of new potatoes in skins (cooked) and sauted in a pan with some Pam spray
    2 slices of bacon
    Grilled Mushrooms and Tomatoes
    1 egg cooked in Pam spray
    Cup of tea with splash of milk (0.5 syns)

    Lunch:-
    Pizza Toasts (HEb and HEa)
    (Wholemeal toast with passata, red and green peppers, onion, ham topped with mozzarella)
    I also added a tiny bit of fresh pineapple to the pizza toasts before putting in oven to melt cheese, I know I should syn the pineapple, but it was such a tiny piece I didn't bother, as it would only be about 0.5 syns if that.
    I served the pizza toasts with a side salad.

    Dinner:-
    Sausage and Tomato Pasta (2 syns)

    Snacks:-
    Handful of grapes
    0% Greek Yoghurt and Fresh Fruit
    special k cereal bar (4.5 syns)
    baked crisps (4 syns)

    Syns:-
    11 syns

    Water:- 3x500ml bottles

    I have just made a huge pot of veggie soup, figured I could keep it in containers in the fridge and maybe freeze some, to help with the hungry periods I keep getting lol.

    In the soup, I added onion, garlic, carrots, leeks, cabbage and sweet potato, lots of stock and a bit of cumin and coriander, it taste divine. I blitzed half, to thicken and then added that back to the rest.

    I also then made a huge bowl of fruit salad to pick at, which has pink lady apple (my fav) fresh pineapple, fresh oranges, grapes and strawberries.

    I might make up a big pot of vegetable, lentil and bean chilli tommorrow, as I have heaps of pulses beans etc in my cupboard to use up. Hopefully if I get lots of filling foods into my days then it will stop the cravings for BREAD!!!! hehe

    Dollop of 0% Greek Yoghurt

    Skinny Decaff Caramel Macchiato (HEa)
    100 calorie chocolate pretzels (5 syns)
    Bowl of fresh fruit with light cream (1 syn)
    1/2 a small homemade oatmeal and raisin cookie (no idea on syn value, but should have plenty of syns left to cover). I could resist trying a bit of one . Now I just need to stay away from the rest.

    9.5 syns + however many syns for 1/2 the cookie

    Arggggh my son insisted he wanted to bake some cookies this afternoon, so we have baked some oatmeal and raisin cookies. They smell so so good and now I have to resist the temptation of eating them.

    mmmmm just had the leftover lentil chilli (I did freeze two containers of it too, as I made a big huge pot of the stuff), it tasted even better today. Has helped with the hunger pangs too, so thats even better.
