Thread: My Big, FAT Food Diary

    It is my 4th week on slimming world and I'm feeling quite bloated after the weekend, even though I stuck to plan so I'm going to try and share my food diaries for this week and get some feedback from you lovely lot. I'll be interested to see what my weight losses are like based on my food diaries, I put on 1lb last week as I'd been away at a conference so keen to lose 1.5lb this week to make my half stone award.

    I'll post the plan in the morning and then as the day goes on I'll update with any changes made for syns etc. Although I always write down everything I eat anyway in my notes app on my phone, hopefully it will help me too to actually see everything I'm eating posted online and getting input from you guys!


    So here goes... my happy monday menu;

    Breakfast - Huge fruit salad (kiwi, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, melon, pineapple, orange and grapes)

    Lunch - Homemade soup I made yesterday morning for lunches this week, contains leeks, celery, red lentils, green lentils, barley, chopped tomatoes, tin of mixed bean salad, red pepper, green pepper, red chilli, green chilli, onion and I think that's it? It was a bit of a free for all!

    Dinner - The vegetable paella from the new magazine, looks yum and syn free! Going to put in some prawns too.

    Snacks - muller light, banana, apple - these are on my desk to munch on whenever I feel like during the day

    HExA - Milk for tea and coffee during the day
    HExB - I think I'm going to make the cheesecake tonight with 2 x mint options and 2 xalpen lights and split with mum so I'll have another one with a cup of tea later too!

    I try to stick to around 10 syns a day so after the 2.5 for the options, I've still got 7.5 to play around with.

    Suggestions welcome

    I stuck to the above but used a choc fudge options which I think is 3 syns instead of 2.5! Just ate the second alpen light bar and feel well and truly stuffed now!

    Food looks fab and at least you stayed within syns! Lots of superfree too!

    I'm trying to do the same and stay within 10 a day, but those syns seem to sneak in from nowhere! Looking forward to reading your diary!

    Tomorrow is my toughest day as I'm out at work all day from 7.30am and not home until 9.30pm as I do a massage night class. There's no time in between to have anything significant to eat either but I try to have something prepared.

    Breakfast - super free fruit salad

    Lunch - super free soup, apple and FF natural yoghurt

    Snacks/early dinner - apples, banana, Bircher style muesli (35g porridge oats mixed with a mandarin muller light and segments of two clementines mixed through) this tends to keep me going!

    Late dinner - not sure yet but something quick and handy, maybe savoury rice or pasta n sauce with frozen veg. I really hate using convenience packet/foods so might make some pasta with passata, chillies and veg instead - depends how tired I am!!

    HExA - milk again for tea/coffee
    HExB - 35g porridge oats

    Syns - 1 packet of velvet crunch crisps (4 syns) leaving some to play around with!

    Ok so today has not gone to plan at all.

    Breakfast: a banana and apple
    Lunch: fruit salad and super speed soup
    Early snack/dinner: muller light with 35g porridge

    HExA: milk
    HExB: porridge

    I've just got in, I really don't feel well and someones in the kitchen in a bad mood using all the space to bake a cake! Afraid to get in the way. Tempted to have a shower and go straight to bed. I might have a grapefruit grilled with some sweetener and cinnamon and a cup of tea if I can brave the kitchen!

    Update: I had a grapefruit halved with sweetener and cinnamon popped under the grill with a packet of velvet crunch crisps (4 syns).

    Today the plan is;

    Breakfast: Fruit salad with melon, grapes, kiwi, pineapple and orange.
    Lunch: Super free soup
    Snacks: I've brought 2 apples, 2 clementines, a banana custard muller light (not tried this one yet!), a packet of velvet crunch crisps (4 syns) and a tin of diet coke!
    Dinner: Possible diet coke chicken which I've not tried before. It's a bit chaotic at the minute, not sure who will be in later for dinner so it may end up being baked potato - I'll keep you posted

    HExA: Milk
    HExB: not sure yet... maybe 2 alpen lights later.

    Syns: 4 for velvet crunch so another 6 to play around with

    I have a really sore throat today so going to venture over to the chemist in a minute and hopefully they will have some difflam - trying desperately to stay away from syn laden lozenges which I think are definitely not worth it!

    Syns: 10 in total - sausage (1.5 syns), options hot choc (3 syns), velvet crunch crisps (4 syns), half tsp lurpak lighter (1 syn), squirt brown sauce (0.5 syns)

    Tomorrow I'll be having the same breakfast and lunch (looking forward to a change next week). Dinner will be sausages, with bubble and squeak and homemade syn free gravy which I made tonight as have weigh in on the way home from work - eeek! Ive been 100% this week but still feel really scared!!!

    I had a 1.5lb loss at WI tonight - slowly and surely wins the race!

    If anyone has any suggestions for better food plans, or tweaks please let me know!

    Breakfast: fruit salad - melon, pineapple, grapefruit and kiwi

    Lunch: super free soup

    Dinner: bubble and squeak, 3 sausages (4.5 syns), syn free gravy and peas

    Snacks: 2 apples, 1 clementine

    HExA: SS milk
    HExB: 1 slice wholemeal hovis

    Syns: 4.5 for sausages, 3 syns for alpen light, 1.5 syns for 1 tsp lurpak light - total 10 syns


    Tomorrow I'll be having the soup with fruit salad again and made a mushy pea curry sauce for tomorrows dinner of chicken curry with veg over fried rice and SW chips - a naughty feeling Friday night dinner SW style

    Dinner: mushy pea curry with added chicken, onion, mushrooms and peppers. Served with SW chips and egg fried rice

    HExB: 1tbsp extra virgin oil

    Syns: nibbled about half a dozen chip shop chips someone else bought (3 syns), kit kat chunky (13 syns) and an iced finger (10 syns?!)

    Going to have to cut back on 11 syns this week to make up for some cheeky choices today! Whoops!

    Brunch - 1 slice of hovis wholemeal with beans, mushrooms, an egg and an apple.

    Dinner - SW pizza with peppers, ham and mushrooms with SW chips.

    Snacks - Apple, curly Wurly (6 syns), velvet crunch crisps (4 syns)

    HExA - reduced fat mozzarella
    HExB - hovis

    Syns total: 10

    I'm going hiking tomorrow so will probably have a cooked breakfast before and have a wholemeal pitta with a chicken and peaches in yoghurt filling. Bananas for snacks and lots of water as usual

    Breakfast: banana
    Lunch: spicy sweet and sour mug shot and an apple
    Dinner: cubed garlic potatoes (fry light and lazy garlic with rosemary) an egg and 2 quorn sausages (2 syns)

    Snacks: nectarine and kit kat chunky (12 syns)

    HexA: cheese
    HExB: hovis wholemeal

    Syns: 15

    Weigh in tomorrow!! I also really need to go food shopping as have hardly anything but I've been feeling so tired after work that I can't be bothered!!!

    I put on 1.5lb at my WI last night and I can't figure out how the hell it happened! I was so annoyed but I came home and started making food for lunch and dinner today!

    Another green day

    B: WM toast with marmite and a banana
    L: homemade falafel bites with homemade red lentil and sweet potato pâté and veg crudités and an apple.
    D: homemade falafel burger with wholemeal pitta, salsa and lettuce served with a side salad and a mint muller light and apple after.

    HexA: bit of milk for tea and coffee, 20g cheddar
    HExB: 1 slice wholemeal bread & 1 wholemeal pitta

    Syns: 1/2 for the salsa, 3.5 for a tblsp of flour in falafel = total of 4 syns

    Making the one pan winter hash from the last mag for breakfast tomorrow :-)

    D: wholemeal pitta with falafel, salad and salsa (0.5 syns)

    I also had a small crepe with a little nutella and lots of berries. The recipe was just milk, eggs and flour so along with 1/2 tsp of nutella and a packet of velvet crunch crisps (4 syns) I'm using all of my 15 syn allowance to be safe!
