    2012 is the year!!

I started slimming world 3 weeks ago but I've dabbled in it quite a few times over the last 5 years. I've never stuck with it past a month or 2 but this time my head is in a completely different place. I'm determined! I've also tried all the other diets over the years and that has resulted in me being 3 stone heavier than when I started dieting! I never seem to get past losing a stone and a bit but this time I have friends who are doing the diet with me so I have support for the first time.

Last year I joined a Bootcamp and I do that 3 times a week. I always thought people who said they love exercise are loons but now I'm one of those people! I haven't properly tried dieting over the last year so my weight hasn't really changed but my body shape has. I'm hoping slimming world and exercise together will give me the results I want because I've never done both together.

I'm 26 years old and have 2 children and it was when I fell pregnant with my first I piled the weight on. I was always big as a child and through school. I lost weight when I was 18 years old. I don't know what weight I was but my clothes size were 14 bottoms and a 12 top and that's the smallest I've ever been. Back then I thought I was still fat but looking at the photos I think I looked good. I would love to get to a size 12. Because of my weight gain I became a hermit for all of my twenties and I'm tired of living like that. I have been engaged for 5 years and cancelled 3 wedding dates because of my weight so I don't want to let my partner down again. We are looking at venues for next year.

I've lost 10lbs so far and my weigh in day is tomorrow. I have a long way to go but I have set myself a target of 2.5lbs per week. I have a holiday in July and if I lose at that rate I will be down 4 stone by then.

Anyway the life story is over! I will post here as a food diary/ thoughts diary and hopefully this will keep me focused.

    Week 3 -2.5lbs

Well done on your loss so far - and good luck with your journey. I think 2.5 per week sounds a little high, 1-2 is much more realistic. Look forward to seeing how you get on anyway x

Thanks I will see how the next couple of losses are and adjust my target if I need to.

    Today's food, red day.

    Banana before the school run.
    breakfast
Went shopping straight from school so had a late brekkie of 2 slices ww toast with philli (hex a &b)
    lunch
Very small bowl of homemade spicy carrot & butternut squash soup. I wasn't very hungry from the late brekkie and drinking green tea all day.
    snack
    Chicken slices
    Dinner
2 tesco LC sausages (2 synns) tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, scrambled egg.
If I get hungry later I'll have an orange and a yogurt.

I drink at least 4 or 5 cups of green tea throughout the day and 1 litre of water.
Weigh in days a Wednesday and I aim to have thur & fri as green days, the weekend extra easy and Monday to Wednesday red days. This is working quite well for me.
    Week 1 I lost 3.5lbs

Forgot to have my other hexb yesterday and I've got some yummy hi fi light bars that would have done the trick! I've got my weigh in tonight. I'm quite nervous, last week I probably had over double my synns allowance for the week and I lost 2.5lbs. This week I haven't even had half my synns and I bet it will be sods law that I don't lose or have a tiny loss.

    Today's food red day.

    Breakfast
2 chocolate weetabix hexb + 2 synns and semi skimmed milk hexa
    Snack
    Banana & orange
    Lunch
Hot smoked salmon slices with salad

I'll have dinner later when I get in. I've got Bootcamp at 6 then my weigh in straight after so I wont get back until 8.45pm. I will prob have some toast with cadburys philli for my dinner as I won't want anything too heavy.

I'm back from my weigh in and I've lost 2.5lbs, I got slimmer of the week again :-). I'm happy with my loss and I'm aiming for the same each week. The test will be in a few weeks time because that's around the stage I have always given up.
I really feel like this time is different though, I feel more determined than ever before and I truly believe I can do it. I think the big difference is that I'm doing it with friends that want to lose weight. All the other times I have dieted I've done it by myself and I've never had the encouragement to carry on. I'm feeling very positive :-)

I had a good day today. I'm feeling very positive and happy and I like this feeling! It is the total opposite to how I was last year. My whole life has changed. Last year I was on anti depressents for post natal depression. I hadn't worked for years. Never socialised with my friends. Hadn't exercised since school and now my life has had a complete turnaround.

I started working just under a year ago and I love my job. I've slowly, slowly started socialising with my friends. I've been doing bootcamp 3 times a week since last January and most importantly I stopped taking the anti depressents over 8 months ago.
I'm so happy with my life at the moment.

    Snack
Handful of choc raisins 10 syns?
    Dinner
Garlic sweet potato chips with quorn chilli and salad
