Third Time's A Charm...

This is my third well-intentioned attempt at dieting with Slimming World! You can see the results of my previous attempts in my signature.

The past three weeks feels like it's been my worst fall off of the wagon since I started Slimming World in April. My Grandad died on the 12th of November, and since then I've found it really difficult to keep away from all of the bad food and temptations that are always around the house (I live in a household of 7 people, most of whom are underweight so always eat fatty foods!) and put on 4lbs of the 6lbs I lost on my second SW attempt...

I tried to get back to SW on Friday, when I weigh in, but the past two days were more write-off's. Today however, was an unplanned healthy and SW day! I even went to the gym... So here I am, boring you all with yet another food diary in the attempts that I can get some support and motivation to stay on track. I promise to be truthful about what I've eaten, even if it means admitting about the pie and chips I've just scoffed, or the umpteen rum and cokes I had the night before...

I love taking pics of my food, so you can look forward to some yummy looking photos, too!

Goals:

Lose 3lb in December (sounds very low, and it is, but I plan to take a week off over Christmas/New Year - not advised, I know, but I love Christmas and don't intend to miss out on a thing!
Exercise for 5 hours in December (again, low, but I leave the house at 7.20am, get back at 6pm and really have no energy to work out Mon-Thurs... Fri-Sun will be possible days for exercise, here's hoping I actually go at least once a week! Really shouldn't be difficult, I have loads of time.
Lose 3 inches overall in December (Current stats are: Bust - 38" Waist - 33.5" Hips - 41" Thigh - 25" Arm - 12.5")

Day 1 - EE

Breakfast - 35g muesli (HexB) with 120ml whole milk (4 syns) and a banana.

Lunch - Sushi (0.5 syns), pineapple and a gingerbread latte (HexA and 2 syns).

Dinner - Chicken, roasted potatoes and carrot (2 syns), cabbage and gravy (1.5 syns).

Snacks - Strawberries, ham, SW chips with sauce (0.5 syns), advent chocolate (2 syns).

Syns - 13.5

Exercise - 1 hour 20 minutes - crosstrainer, bike and rowing machine.

Feel free to suggest anything you can that might help motivate me or keep me on track!

Good luck! I am also restarting tomorrow morning. This time I'm gonna shift this weight and be a yummy mummy by my birthday in may.

I'm hanging my head in shame... I've cocked it up! It was all going so well, but a day and a half of being on plan and I give up when mum says she's heading to the chippy! :(

Day 2 - Was supposed to be EE, now nothing

Breakfast - Banana

Lunch - Roast carrots and potatoes, cabbage, chicken and gravy and some grapes and strawberries.

Dinner - Chips and saveloy with sauce.

Snacks - 2 advent chocolates and a toffee glazed Krispy Kreme! Doh... :(

Syns - ?! A LOT!

Exercise - An hour and a half shifting heavy furniture around and walking around a lot and about 35 minutes walking.

I feel good that I boosted my excercise a bit today - not a lot really, but better than most weekdays considering my work experience placement is a desk job - but thoroughly disgusted and disappointed in myself for falling off the wagon after only a day and a half!

I'm determined to get back to it tomorrow, as if for nothing else, I feel really sick from all the food right now!

Well at least you came on here and owned up! Lol I had a bit of a wobble last night too as we had unexpected guests and my will power was weak... Today is a new day!

Yeah, I thought that admitting my quick failure would be the best thing to get me back on track! Nothing like a little bit of shame to get you motivated ;D

Today has been a good day, overall! Work was long and stressful, but I've been getting lots done, exceeding expectations and feeling like a valued member of the team, which is really nice :D Bit of a panic with both lunch and dinner as I was so tired yesterday that I didn't think to plan at all... Managed to get it all worked out though, eventually! Just had a horrible burger for dinner, the amount of fat that came out during cooking (I drained it all off) was disgusting, and it looked even more revolting when it had all set in the bowl I skimmed it into! Blergh... Such a waste of syns, and I will not do that again! Just found some Sainsbury's beef burgers that are only 2 syns each, which is good, so I might have to get those next time...

Day 3 - EE

Breakfast - Banana.

Lunch - Smoked salmon and light cream cheese (1/4 HexA tweak) sandwich (HexB), grapes, clementine and 2 rice crackers (3 syns).

Dinner - Beef burger (6 syns?), new potatoes, gherkins, pickled onions and baked beans.

Snacks - Clementine, Starbucks flat white coffee (3/4 HexA), advent chocolate (1 syns - thought these were 2, but after some research I've saved myself a syn!), gherkins and fish sticks.

Syns - 10

Exercise - 20 minutes walking.

Hope you have had a good day and are back on plan too, skinhead, never mind about yesterday :)

Glad to hear your back on track. I've had a good day too. Going out this evening, just to the library (I'm doing a course in Uni) so wont eat anthing else!

Well done!

What a snowy day... Had to give up on getting to work experience this morning, buses just gave up...

Day 4 - EE

Breakfast - A banana, a tangerine and some gherkin.

Lunch - Not sure yet, probably some kind of special fried rice! Yum

Dinner - No idea yet...

Snacks - Bacon sandwich (HexB) with tiny bit of tomato sauce (0.5 syns), advent chocolate (1 syn).

Syns - 1.5 so far...

Exercise - Nothing!

What are you doing for work experience? Wish I could have had a snow day! No snow here but it was FREEZING this morning.

I find staying in the house makes it much harder to stick to the plan. I tend to eat when I'm bored lol.

My work experience placement is at a Jobcentre in Basildon :) I basically do admin and events organising for loads of these events that we're holding for the whole of the county at the moment :) Definitely harder to stick to plan when you're at home all day! I think that's why I went so badly off plan both when I stopped going to school and when my Grandad died as I took loads of time off work! Easier to stick to it when I'm at work as I can only eat what I pack whilst I'm there... The only bad thing is I have to walk through a big shopping centre with a food hall (Taco Bell, Nando's, McDonald's, Burger King, fish and chips etc...) on the way home and that is my biggest challenge in terms of willpower haha!

I've done ok, thanks Harley Quinn! I feel positive and am falling back in love with the SW plan! It's so much easier to follow once you get yourself back into it and I'm hoping it'll be even better in the next 2-3 weeks :)

Just going to repost my food diary from earlier to update it, rather than edit it in there!

Day 4 - EE

Breakfast - A banana, a tangerine and some gherkin (just realised how odd the gherkin sounds here... I keep craving them!).

Lunch - Special fried rice - Syn Free Special Fried Rice | The Ramblings of a Mad Woman

Dinner - Chicken, spinach and mushroom pie (potato topped! 1 syn for the butter in the mash, and HexA) with some green beans. (This was sooo good!)

Snacks - Bacon sandwich (HexB) with tiny bit of tomato sauce (0.5 syns), advent chocolate (1 syn), 2 penguins (10 syns), toffee muller light.

Syns - 12.5

Exercise - Nothing!

Photos are taking eons to email from my phone, so I will upload them in another post :)

Not so pretty on the plate!
And the special fried rice :)

Had another horrible morning with the buses, won't go into detail as it was too frustrating, but basically, bus drivers are w*****s haha! Messed me around so much that I spent 3 and a half hours getting nowhere, going back to where I started so I called into work told them I was giving up and headed home again! What a waste of time... Still managed to stick to plan despite going to Tesco for a food shop with mum and seeing all the yummy sweets, chocs, biscuits and other christmassy treats that are being pushed! She got some doughnuts (jam ones and custard - custard are my all time favourite!) but I am adamant I will prevail! Weighing in tomorrow morning so I definitely do not need a pound of doughnut holding me back!

Day 5 - EE

Breakfast - Banana.

Lunch - Smoked salmon and light cream cheese (0.5 syns) sandwich (HexB), pear and nectarine.

Dinner - Potato topped spinach, chicken and mushroom pie (HexA) with green beans.

Snacks - Pom bears (5 syns), penguin (5 syns), muller light, bbq beans, advent chocolate (1 syn) and digestive biscuit (3.5 syns).

Syns - 15

Exercise - 20 minutes walking

I lost 6lbs this week! I'm so happy, especially after worrying so much about going off on a binge on Monday night! So it just proves that four or five days on plan really does make so much of a difference :)

Just going to post a rough plan of what I might eat today, and will repost and update later! Might be going to the gym, but a rough TOTM has just started so might give myself a sick pass and come back home to snuggle with my cats on the sofa haha ;D

Day 6 - WI: - 6lbs! - Green

Snacks - Pear, half an advent chocolate (0.5 syn - I shared it with my little 2 year old friend who came over for dinner :)) chips with cheese (HexA) and tomato sauce (1 syn).

Thanks! How did your WI go? Sorry I didn't update over the weekend, but there was nothing worth talking about! I had bad things, but not terrible... Most of my snacks were SW with a few mince pies thrown in, but I had a kebab for dinner yesterday... Only good thing about it is it kept me full all day long! Started afresh today. Had a craving to bake something Christmas-y so I've got some orange infused biscuits in the oven. The total recipe was 88 syns, and I've made 33 cookies so just over 2.5 syns each! Yum! Will add a picture when they're out of the oven.

Day 9 - EE

Breakfast - Banana.

Lunch - Smoked salmon and cream cheese (1 syn) sub (HexB and 4 syns) with lettuce, toffee muller light with banana.

Dinner - Shepherd's pie (2 syns for olive oil) with shredded cabbage, carrots and onions in it and peas on the side.

Snacks - 3 orange biscuits (7.5 syns).

Syns - 14.5

Exercise - 25 minute walk.
