    Hi everyone, I'm not new to minimims - like many here I have tried everything but during the last 12 months veered into a territory of VLCD's and since then have gained it all back then tried several "other" diets in an effort to lose the weight.
    I know for me I have to have food in my life - real food. Going onto meal replacements did achieve fantastic results and I actually thought I'd realised how little I need food but I was so wrong. I went on holiday and consumed a food mountain and struggled with it since then (last June!). I'm still 2 stone lighter than my heaviest weight and don't want to be saying it's all gone back on.
    I have put myself on so many guilt trips etc and after a very emotional eating xmas as not been well I have decided enough is enough

    We still have naughty food in house and are decorating this weekend so had decided to give SW my full attention from next Wednesday but I woke up this morning feeling sluggish and horrible that I am going to join class tonight after work. I've changed jobs recently so can go back to a class I went to 3 years ago where I helped my son achieve his target weight following the teen plan......I did lose weight with him but didn't see myself as a priority then if that makes sense. He's now 16 and still feeling and looking great so its my time to do it for me.

    I've been poorly on and off now for 3 months, wanting to say oh low immunity etc but after blood tests coming back clear I can only assume my very bad diet isn't helping me.

    So tonight is the start of my new journey. It's going to be a long and bumpy road but I need to face the reality that I have to change my habits for the rest of my life. I always start so well, loose loads then pile it all back on

    I hope to be able to find some fellow friends to help me along my way

    Well it didn't take me long to find you did it , Well done on getting back to proper eating - like you I really need to be eating proper food -just need to dig out some new recipes to adapt . Well done to your son on keeping his weight off -and well done you for helping him, like you say now its YOUR time. Im going to be following your journey... best of luck and you know you can do it.... we have done this before... this time WE WILL keep on going and not let l
    ife distract us....

    Just back from class, lovely to go back there as was always my favourite but had to leave 2 yrs ago as change of job meant couldn't attend. Scales were extra scary as been used to weighing naked in the morning lol but I have promised myself I will not see that number again!

    Right off to prep magic porridge for morning and make lunch. Will have an early night with my new SW books xx

    Extra Easy
    B - Magic Porridge HeB, shape zero mango and a Sharon fruit
    S - Pear
    L - leftover chicken and chorizo risotto 2.5 syns, carrots, Lemon Greek muller 0.5 syns and a Sharon fruit
    D - spaghetti carbonara 3 syns for Parmesan, green beans and sugar snap peas
    S - HiFi Cherry Bakewell 6 syns

    total syns = 12

    Drinks - 350ml skimmed milk HeA, water, coffee, Dr pepper zero and lots of mint tea

    Hello! I am new to this and was just having a quick look through some food diaries looking for some breakfast inspiration...what's magic porridge?! I really struggle to eat anything first thing in a morning and I end up skipping breakfast or nibbling on something around 11am xx

    Faye, your not the only one. I really struggle to eat breakfast and like you would have something about 11. Since starting SW I've tried to almost force myself to eat someting even if its a piece of fruit

    Hi and welcome to SW
    I love Magic Porridge, I mix HeB 35g Porridge Oats with a yogurt of your choice (counting syns in applicable) and enough water or milk to make a loose mix as the oats will swell overnight. I make this the night before and when then stir in chopped fresh fruit and serve.
    It's great as I can have it at work if running late as its ready to go

    You can experiment with different flavours of yogurt and fruits so its never boring.

    Try it and you might be pleasently surprised
