Going it alone - food diary!

Started my diet on 2nd January and slowly but surely have been getting into it. Will start recording my food eats from today onwards.

Sunday 6th January, 2013.

2 slices of wholemeal bread (HE)
Semi-skimmed milk (HE allowance)

Breakfast:
Scrambled eggs (with the HE bread)
1/2 tin of baked beans.

Mid-morning food:
Pineapple chunks.

Dinner:
SW Chilli Con Carne
Plain cous cous (free)
1/3 of plate lettuce and chopped red peppers.

Dessert:
Fresh raspberries
Fat free greek yoghurt (free).
Cup of camomile tea.

** Gym Day.
- 3k on Stair Stepper.
- 1.5k on Crosstrainer.
- 2k on rowing machine.
- 20mins swimming.

Thank you so much!! I did SW 1.5 years ago and lost one stone (the amount I'm hoping to lose this time around again!), but can't afford the classes unfortunately. I have all my books and know the ways of the diet but extra meal suggestions/hints/tips would be so appreciated! Thank you! :)
 
Monday 7th January, 2013.

Cup of lemon and ginger tea
Whole orange.

Dinner
1/3 tin tuna in water
Baby boiled potatoes
1/3 plate crunchy salad, chopped peppers.

Dessert:
Chopped apple
Cup of lemon and ginger tea.

Supper:
1/2 tin of baked beans
2 slices of wheaten bread (3.5 x 2 = 7 syns).

Fresh orange chopped into quarters.

Dinner:
SW Piri-Piri Chicken and roasted peppers.
Baby boiled potatoes
1/3 of plate lettuce and carrot slices.

Dessert:

Cup of lemon and ginger tea.

** Bikram yoga session.
- 1hr.
- Drinking lots of water.

Supper:
2 x wheaten bread (3.5 x 2 = 7 syns)
1 teaspoon of peanut butter (4.5 syns)
Fresh orange chopped into quarters.

Wednesday 9th January, 2013.

Breakfast:

2 x Tesco wheat biscuits (HE B)
Semi-skimmed milk (HE A)

Lunch:
Baby boiled potatoes
Tuna in water
1/3 of plate salad and peppers.

Evening:
Spiced carrot and sweetcorn soup (from cafe, not sure of syn value)
2 x slices of bread roll (6.5 x 2 = 12 syns)
Cup of lemon and ginger tea.

Chocolate brownie :( :(

Evening:
Muller Yogurt.
Cup of tea.

After a great run for six days, I had a chocolate brownie with a friend in a cafe. So annoyed with myself but just craved chocolate so much for some reason. Just in a "nibbly" mood today. Very disappointed in myself as today was the first day I started to feel the change. My stomach was nice and toned looking and I just felt lighter and legs less weighty.

I suppose it doesn't help that my weekly shop ran out today and I didn't have any fruit to eat before the cafe meeting.

Going to do my weekly shop tomorrow and buy Options so that my chocolate craving is sedated next week.

My weekly weigh in tomorrow. Hoping for a loss - but disappointed in myself today :(
 
Very pleased with my weight loss which is an astounding 5lbs!

The goal now is to really work hard this week and get to closer to the 11 stone mark. My weight usually "sticks" around this level and I feel that once I get into the 10 zone, I will be really inspired to keep it going.

Have yoga scheduled for tomorrow evening and gym on Sunday.
About to go and do my big weekly shop and like I said before, going to buy some Options and maybe Pink and Whites to help keep nibbles at bay.

The journey is only beginning.
 
Thursday 10th January, 2013.

Breakfast:
Beans
Toast (the two x wholemeal bread).

Dinner:
Sweet potato wedges
3 x fish fingers (3 x 2 syns = 6 syns)
1/3 plate crunchy salad.

Dessert:
Pineapple chunks
Fat-free yoghurt
Lemon and ginger tea.

Options hot chocolate (2 syns).

Had a bit of a bad weekend, so at this point really hoping that I can maintain my weight loss from last week.

Friday 11th January, 2013.


2 x weetabix (HE)
Milk (HE)

Starbucks chicken wrap (22syns).

Chicken burrito (8.5 syns).

1 bottle red wine.
2 x cocktails.

Saturday 12th January, 2013.

Scrambled eggs on toast. (Toast = HE)
Milk (HE).

Shared platter of meats and cheeses.
Two glasses of red wine.

Camembert cheese.
Lasagna and 1/3 plate salad.
Raspberry yoghurt.

1 bottle red wine.

Awful weekend!!!!! :eek:
 
Sunday 13th January, 2013.

Tea with milk (HE).

Banana.
Pineapple chunks and fat-free greek yoghurt.

Baked potato,
3 x fish finger (3 x 2 syns = 6 syns),
1/3 plate of salad.

Raspberries and yoghurt,
Lemon and ginger tea.


**1.5hrs of yoga.
 
Monday 14th January, 2013


No breakfast - was in a rush.

Lunch:

Tin of Heinz Tomato Soup (11.5 syns)
2 x wholemeal bread (HE)
Cup of tea with skimmed milk (milk = HE)

Banana
Cup of lemon and ginger tea.

Dinner:
Skinless chicken breast with paprika and mixed herb coating,
Baked potato
1/3 of plate salad, carrots and peppers.

Evening nibbles:
Cup of lemon and ginger tea,
Blackberries and fat free yoghurt.

Gave in to late night temptation....

2 x wholemeal bread and peanut butter
Bowl of Bachelors Noodles.

Really annoyed with myself for eating these last two items on an otherwise good day. It may have been not having breakfast that left me feeling hungry all day.

I really am sure I'll have weight on again on Thursday.

Tea and milk (HE)

Lunch:
Delicious salad, cous cous and plain chicken. Here's a pic!

Anyone got any tips on how to combat before-bed eats?

Hi Plath, no personal tips as such, but was given a tip by someone else to brush my teeth! Unlikely to want to eat after that...

Had night time nibble of a roll and peanut butter. Disappointed in myself!!

Did you manage to brush your teeth at work? Did it help? x
 
It did help with my nibbling urges during the day but unfortunately not at night!! I have a jar of peanut butter in the larder and it tempts me. Sometimes before bed I just crave some toast and peanut butter. I usually use my HE in the form of weetabix in the morning, so maybe I should try and have fruit in the mornings and leave my HE for toast in the evening. That might work.

I have weigh-in tomorrow morning. Hoping I STS because this week/weekend has been very choppy.
