Trying a fresh!

So, been doing SW 'properly' from home since January this year.
I've pretty much been around 11st4 since having kids and occasionally seen that creep up towards 12, I do two weeks of SW to bring it back then give up again!
Since joining minis I have happily lost nearly a stone but now I have been wobbling around struggling to reach the stone and then get to my target of 10st..

I've got a couple of health issues that don't help:
Severely inflamed back around L5 vertebrae for the last two years since beginning running, but perhaps not properly(?) which is being investigated and currently waiting for the next appt which is with a spinal surgeon- so all this stops me from doing exercise as I had been doing (!)

Secondly, the pain I'm in means in taking cocodamol which is know for constipation side effects so I'm also on drugs to conquer that! Joy :)

Thirdly, I had an IUD fitted just over a month ago so I am now battling the early side effects of that - mega bloating and pain and having read up on it it seems some women do gain weight.. Pah!

So, I feel like I have the odds stacked up against me right now!

I've decided time for a change of diary, and some super refocussing on shifting what is currently the last 6.5lb

Last WI I was 146.5lb which had been a STS since the week before..

:)

Hi!
Yes, but I don't think I am going to manage it, particularly in the heat...!
How do you find it?
I really just need a boost to get the last half stone off..!

I find it fine - I think it's more a change of habit than anything really.

Have you read the book? I got mine for my kindle for only a couple of quid and it really helps you to understand the science behind it. I think, like most things, if you don't fully understand something, it can be difficult to follow.

I find hunger comes in waves, I just drink plenty of water or keep myself busy with exercise/activities instead. After the first couple of weeks they just became a way of life for me, I got used to them.

I think the trick is definitely to plan meals well. It's really important to make every calorie count.

On my fast days I tend to have breakfast mid-morning - hold off for as long as I can. It's normally some oats and fruit, sometimes with yoghurt too.
Lunch is almost always a form of protein with low calorie salads.

The longer you do it, the smarter you get at it!

I've recorded quite a few of my food diaries on fast days in my food diary on minimins - the link is in my signature if you want to take a look :)

I too combine SW with fasting, although I've chosen not to eat at all on fast days, I tend to drink black coffee, water, diet soft drinks and herbal/fruit teas.
When I'm 'hungry' I have a drink and distract myself with something
Within 5-10 mins I'm fine again

Good luck

Thanks for the advice both, I have planned dinner left, though no idea if its best use of cals- I just know it'll fill me up ish!
I recon I will be more like. 600 cals today as I had an extra apple when I got back from an afternoon in school moving books and felt a bit weak.
Doing ok now though I think.

Well, I recon I was around the 600 cal mark yesterday in the end..
Not sure how I did I it!
Interestingly I was much more comfortable this morning considering the codine effects on my bowel. I still took the movicol yesterday, but all was fine this morning!

Back to sw today.. Plan...

B - banana, tea with skimmed and sweetener
L - couscous with onion, roast bns and 20g cheddar (a), ff Greek yog with crumbled alpen light and chopped fruit
D - new potatoes with salad and Linda Mc sausages, mayo (0.5)
Snacks - alpen lights (b), fruit, ryvita (b) dairy lea dunker (6) wine (4)

Syns 10.5

Iv found your diary yeyyy, didnt know you had started a new one. Your 5:2 sounds good, was it hard? I really wanna try it but i know ill be hungry and grumpy haha!

Just needed a completely fresh start! In a mental way too! Lol

It was ok, I ended up on 600 cal and was a bit quiet and went to bed early in the evening.. Will try again on wed, and I am hoping a couple of weeks of this might just boost the sw!

I have been considering the 5:2 as well but I think I would find it too hard :(

I really thought I would- I have days though normally when I'm just not overly bothered about food, and other days when I binge.. My problem is a 3pm low blood sugar often when if I don't have the right snack the rest of the day is messed up..
Def going to give it a couple of weeks and see how I go:!

Well, I had my contraceptive implant out this morning... It seems when it was inserted it was quite deep, so wasn't totally straight forward to get it out! I just stared at the ceiling and tried not to think too much, but I am pretty sure it bled quite a lot! I now have steristrips, a dressing and a bandage! Not fun but I would still have one again if the IUD doesn't work out.. I kind of think it might hurt at the time, but it won't last forever! Get the feeling my body doesn't find lignocaine very effective though - I could feel pain when she did it, and it was the same when I had a local op on my finger a few years ago... Come to think of it the epidural I had with my first was not entirely successful! Hey ho... Good job I can breath through the pain! Lol

Gone for a green day today post fast and it's working out ok... I've stuck to plan, and not even planned syns yet... Woo, what to have?!

Your so lucky just having steristrips, when i had my implant out i had 4 stitches!

Omg! Poor you!
She was quite brutal as the furthest end was so deep! The things we have to suffer hey!

Omg, I can't believe how much will power it takes for me NOT to get on the scales!
But I didn't!
