Right, time to stop messing around! Need to find some motivation!!

I tried SW a few years ago, lost a few pounds and then gradually lost interest. i've since tried JUDD, but rather half heartedly. I'm now in place where I really want this & hoping that keeping a diary will help me stick to plan. I think I will try to stick to SW, but with 1-2 fasting days (c. 500kcal) a week, but may well adapt this as I go along! I'll be counting my syns weekly as prob won't have any on fast days, & I often have a night out over the weekend when I like to relax a bit. As it has been a loooong while since I last followed SW any comments / suggestions would be more than welcome :)

Day 1 (yesterday!)
Fast day 1 of 2.

Several cups of tea with skimmed milk (hexA)
Snack: Alpen Light (hexB), 1/2 cucumber
Dinner: Homemade mixed veg soup, followed by scrambled egg (cooked with fry light), smoked salmon, asparagus.

Day 2 (today!)
Weight: 9st4lb :(

Tea with skimmed milk (HexA)
2 x alpen light (HexB)

Small slice of cake (syns??? Let's say 10)

Calamari with cucumber & balsamic vinegar

2 fried eggs, small tin baked beans, 1/2 onion, 1 red pepper, mushrooms - veg were fried with garlic & coriander

Pineapple with low fat fromage frais mixed with options powder (2 syns)

Total syns after Day 2 = 12ish

Will try & make tomorrow my 2nd fast day of the week. So far feeling motivated :) Let's hope it lasts!

Phew! Hoping yest was just a blip, as this is more the weight I was expecting (same as I weighed last week & although I wasn't SW-ing I did eat healthily & have 2 fast days. So was not very impressed by a gain!) Still 1/2 a stone up from where I was a couple of months ago though, lol.

Tomorrow eve I have an event where there's drinks & canapies. Not sure exactly what. I'll have to guesstimate syns but think I'll and have 10 (or fewer) for drink & 10 for food. The one thing I hate about diets is social situations, grrr. I worry about what I can / can't have & usually end up going over esp after a few drinks. I know I could just not drink but at the risk of sounding like an alcoholic, it's just not the same!

Thursday 15th August, Week 1 Day 4

Boo, up from yest. Still up from last week :( (which bothers me much more than the day to day fluctuations, but oh well....)

Up in time for breakfast today, woo hoo! That rarely happens. Thought I'd be starving after my DD yest esp as I was struggling, but actually not that hungry. Typical,lol. However still going to stick to my plan for the day as I can not be hungry tonight!! That would be a disaster. Hunger in situations where I'm surrounded by very unhealthy (assuming here that canapes will not be SW friendly) food & alcohol always leads to even more piggish behaviour than normal!

UPDATE: Food for the day

B: Melon & pineapple with fat free fromage frais
L: Homemade veg curry leftovers, cherry toms, cucumber
Snacks: 2 x alpen light (HexB), tea with skimmed milk (HexA), calamari rings
D: Canapes (??? 30 syns ???), 2 x 175ml dry white wine (12 syns)
Late night: 3 x hotel chocolat chocs (7.5 syns ???)

So, my syns are a bit of a guess tonight. The canapes were like small circles of different breads, blinis etc., each topped with different toppings (most prob contained cream cheese, houmous-y type things, or chutney topped with fish, sliced meats, or pate.

Total syns: My guess would be 50 :eek: Oh dear...

Syns for week after 4 days: 62 :(

Friday 15th Aug 2013, Week 1, Day 5

Feeling very fat & fed up today :( Might try another fast day to try & get these scales moving! Nothing until eve, then a healthy syn-free dinner. Only difficulty is that I always see my boyfriend at weekends & it's nice to cook a nice meal together & have a few glasses of wine (he will be drinking anyway, & I know this is stupid but I find it soooo hard when someone's drinking in front of me & I can't have any.

I also have a bbq on Sat. There will be a lot of booze. Not sure food-wise (obviously meat! But I'm hoping it won't just be burgers & sausagea & that there'll be some salad I can fill up on). It's also an all-day think (lunchtime through to night time drinking / more food). I will *try* & be good whilst still having a good time. Although I thought I was reasonably moderate last night, & turns out to be a bit of a disaster :( I know the chocolates were unecessary but I was feeling very fed up with myself, & actually suprised I stopped at 3!

Sat 17 Aug 2013, Week 1, Day 6

Well, a bit of a disaster really! Was v v bad :( Am still going to record everything on here though...

B: 2 fried eggs, baked beans, 2 plum tomatos, 1/2 onion fried with garlic & mushrooms.

Bbq: 3 chicken drumsticks & 1 thigh (most of skin removed), 3 ribs (guess 8 syns?), mushroom rice, 3 mini corn on the cobs, 2 large slices of cheesecake (guess 20 syns?), 1 large glass Pimms with proper lemonade (guess 7 syns?), lots of wine (guess 30+ syns?)

So that's 65+ :( And not sure if I should really be synning the corn & rice as def didn't have 1/3rd superfree! Whatever, I'm waaaay over.

Expect I'll have a gain this week, bit depressing. I can never seem to control myself! Grrr!
 
Sun 18th Aig 2013, Week 1, Day 7

Think I will try & have another (semi) fast day as damage limitation for yesterdays badness.

So far had 1/2 cucumber with balsalmic vinegar as a snack. Hungry, so might also fry a leek!

Tonight's dinner will be homemade chicken curry (oil as HexB) with aubergine.
 
Aaarghhh!!! Chocolate. Is. Evil. It was staring right at me last night, & somehow managed to eat most of a huge bar :(

Drawing a big line under it. New day today, & start of a new (hopegully better!) week.

Fast Day 1

2 x tea with skimmed milk
1 chicken breast stir fried with garlic, ginger, spring onion, chilli, coriander, brocolli, mushrooms, soy sauce, chinese vinegar, fish sauce, & fresh lime juice

Good start to the week, let's hope it continues! :)

Today's food was:

2 poached eggs, 250g cherry tomatoes

Veg stir fry (garlic, spring onion, 1 aubergine, 1 courgette, brocolli, fish sauce, soy sauce, ciriander)

HexA: Milk in 3 cups of tea
 
Wed 21th Aug 2013. Week 2, Day 3

Weight: 9st 1.4lb

:) So thats 1.2lb down from last Wednesday (a week ago). I'll take that! :)

My weigh-in days are a bit random at the moment, which will change if (when! I WILL) join a group. Not too bothered about an 'official' loss so long as the scales are moving downwards on a fairly regular basis.

Off out tonight, so will update food / drink at the end of the day as no idea what choices of food there will be!

Slightly concerned about this week. Staying with family Friday (there is usually a lot of naughty food & alcohol involved) & we have a trip to the zoo planned. Then I'm in Norwich over the weekend for a birthday party. Not sure where I'll be staying yet, but will be some kind of hotel or b&b so may be hard to stick to plan. Oh well, I guess I should be prepared for a sts this week & then aim for a good loss the following. Random ramble to myself now over! :)

UPDATE: Food for the day

Roast pork with crackling (doh!), big stodgy dumpling, sourkraut, & gravy (guess 25 syns??)
3 x 125ml glasses procseco (14 syns)

So not great :( I know I should have left the crackling (& the dumpling!) but it's soooo hard when it's on my plate! The only other food options were deep fried breaded chicken in a bread roll, or some fried veggie burger thing in a roll. Didn't think any of these would be any better? Yes, I could have eaten beforehand but it was awkward as a went out straight from work. Plus I didn't want all the 'why aren't you eating' questions & as I love food it's so much less enjoyable if I'm just watching everyone else eat :(

Beginning to think SW isn't for me :( I don't think (at the moment at least) I can have a night out without going waaaaay over syns. And I then I just feel really **** & frustrated with myself......

Thursday 22nd August, Week 2 Day 4

There seems to be a pattern emerging. Another far from sucessful day :mad: Maybe it's because TOTM is approaching. Even so, v annoyed with myself as the next 3 days will involve eating out for all meals :sigh:

So today was supposed to be a fast day. Calorie-wise it wasn't too much over, but didn't want to use any syns today as I'm away from tomorrow morn until Mon.

2 x cups of tea with skimmed milk
1 x chocolate hobnob, 85kcal (4.5 syns)
1 x 20g pack of sour cream crisp things (they were giving them away free) 100kcal, so guess 5 syns
Egg fried slim rice with broccolli (2 eggs, so c. 200kcal)
1 square dark chocolate (guess 50kcal?, 2.5 syns?), 1 ferrera rocher (75 kcal, 4 syns)

Total syns: 16
Syns for week: 56 / 105

B: 2 egg ommelet, smoked salmon, cherry tomatoes

D: Tapas starter (1/2 slice toasted ciabatta, small piece cheese, chutney, 1 slice parma ham, 1 slice chorizo, 5 olives, 2 small sardines)
Main: swordfish kebab, red onion, tomato, & coriander salad, rice (had spices in it and tasted if it contained fat)

Several chocolates, small slice of cake

Lots of wine!

D: Buffet at party. Chicken, chips, quiche, crisps, olives, cheese, biscuits, cous cous salad, pear tart with cream, trifle, lots of wine

L: 1/2 cheese croquette, 1 prawn, small piece spanish tortilla, 1 large chicken & chorizo wrap with cheese, tortilla chips
Snack: Small piece of cake, large choc chip cookie
D: Chicken curry, wine, chocolate.

End of a terrible week! :( Next week has to be better, or at this rate I'm going to completely fall off the wagon!
 
Monday 26th Aug 2013, Week 3, Day 1

Fast Day 1

Right, need to good today! Last week was pretty disasterous, bit scared to weigh as I'll be so upset if I've gained. I know it'll be my fault & everything, but in a way that makes it worse!

So my plan for today is 500 kcal & 0 syns. Going to try & not eat until this eve & then have a healthy, light dinner.

D: Tuna & okra curry made with coconut milk (5 syns), courgette

Wed 28th Aug 2013. Week 3, Day 3

Fast Day 2

Weight: 8st 13lb :bliss:

So happy with this!!!! Was dreading weighing this morn, as even though I'd been really good most of the time & stuck to all my fast days, I did have 3 really bad days. This week I only have one meal out (tomorrow - which will unfortunately not be great as it's a 7-course set menu with no choice! A ******* voucher that we bought ages ago). I am now more motivated & determined than ever to make this a good week! :)

Today shouldn't be too bad. I'm going to try & not eat during the day - a few cups of tea, & maybe an alpen light if I get really desperate. Then (if I have time), a quick snack of courgetter crisps before I go off to join a Group (finally!!! Wish me luck, lol) & a healthy light meal when I get in.

Now I've just got to stick to that plan.....

3 cups of tea with skimmed milk
1 Alpen light (Hexb, 70kcal)
M&S squid, couscous, pepper ready meal (300kcal - no idea how many syns but decided not to count any & use any oil as other 1/2 of my Hexb!)
1 small courgette
200g mushrooms

Small bowl homemade popcorn (at a guess 100kcal, 5 syns).

So roughly 600kcal :)

Thursday 29th August, Week 3 Day 4

Weight: 8st 13lb

Out for a meal tonight. 7 course tasting menu, also planning on having 1 cocktail & 1/2 bottle of wine. That's basically my whole weeks allowance of syns in one go! (No idea how many syns, but it's got to be high). Think I should be OK though, as have had a good start to the week & no plans for the weekend so should be able to keep it very low syn - also aiming to fit in at least one more fast day. Really want to see another loss this week as I'm still 3lb away from my lowest weight earlier in the year so feels as though I'm just playing catch-up at the moment!

UPDATE: Food for the day

L: Fruit, 2 alpen light (Hexb)
D: Ceviche, potato salad, mashed potato with chicken mayo thing, small piece of belly pork with veg & sauce, chicken in a creamy sauce, fried fish, fried plantian, sweet potato, creme caramel type thing (maybe 50 syns??)

Alcohol: 1/2 bottle white wine (15 syns), 2 fruity cocktails (guess 20 syns???)

At home: 8 squares chocolate :( 16 syns

So def over 100 syns today

Friday 30th Aug 2013, Week 3, Day 5

Fast Day 3

Decided today needs to be another fast day as really want a loss this week. Yesterday turned out slightly bad, almost a full on binge (well, some people might consider what I ate a binge but I was lucky to stop at about 1/3rd a family size bar of choc! Really wanted to scoff the whole thing & then move onto ice cream). Aarghhh!!! Don't know why I always do this!!!!

Hoping I haven't done too much damage that I can bring it back & get a loss. Plan is to do proper alternates this week - so both today & sunday as fast days.

L: Pineapple (175 kcal)
Snack: Mattessons fridge raiders Italian herb (122 kcal), tea with skimmed milk (c.30 kcal)
D: Egg fried slim rice (2 eggs = 160 kcal)

So stayed within my calorie limit for the day, ended up around 500 kcal :)
Think the Mattessons chicken is about 2.5 syns....

Hi Emmster, I was just wondering what you have on your fast days ? And how many you have a week ? Is it part of Slimming World, or just something you find that helps ? Thanks :)
