10 Weigh In's to GSR2013

I am 10 weeks away from running my first Great South Run (10 miles)....

I currently weigh 21st 8.5lb & would like to lose as much as possible before the run....

I have lost total of 6st 3.5lb, 5st 3.5lb of which whilst following Slimming World....

My target is to complete the race, time doesn't really matter but I would like to be under 2 hours....

What follows is my food and training diary....
 
Tuesday 20th August
(Day 1 of 7)

0800 Breakfast
Porridge (HE B), Sweetener, Cinnamon with Skimmed Milk (HE A)....

1200 Lunch
Chicken Salad with Salad Cream (3 Syn's)....

1500 Snack
2 x Apples & Fruit pot....

1830 Dinner
Salmon, Jacket Potato & Veg....

Kids Dinner (5 Syn's)....

2100 Snack
Pasta pot (2 Syn's), WW Hot Choc (2 Syn's), Apple & Yoghurt....

No training today as woke up with gout, very painful hope it goes overnight!!

Daily Syn's: 12/15

Wednesday 21st August

0600 Training
3 mile run in 33mins & 2 mile Cycle to warm down....

0800 Breakfast
Porridge (HE B), Sweetener, Cinnamon with Skimmed Milk (HE A)....

1030 Snack
Pasta pot (3 Syn's), Fruit Pot & Banana....

1300 Lunch
Ham, Mushroom, Onion Omelette with Salad & Salad Cream (2 Syn's)....

1700 Snack (traveling to in-laws)
Apple, Banana & Special K snack (4.5 Syn's)....

2030 Dinner (At in-laws so rough guess)
Cottage pie (5 Syn's) & Veg....

Daily Syn's: 14.5/15

Weekly Syn's: 26.5/105

Thursday 22nd August
(Day 3 of 7)

Away at In-Laws for a Funeral....

0800 Breakfast
Branflakes (HE B), Skimmed Milk (HE A) & 2 x toast (5 Syn's)....

1100 Snack
Apple & Banana....

1330 Lunch
Buffet....(to many Syn's to count) :-(

1830 Dinner
Chow Mein & Bits....(Again to many Syn's to count) :-(

Today has been written off from my week, so this week has become a 6 day week....
Not everyday you have a funeral!!

Friday 23rd August
(Day 3 of 6)

0620 Training
Running - 3 Miles in 34 mins (Hard going today!!)
Exercise Bike (Warm Down) - 3 Miles in 15mins.

0830 Breakfast
Yoghurt (1/2 Syn), Apple, Banana....

1200 Lunch
Ham & Mushroom Omelette, Salad with Light Salad Cream (2 Syn's), Yoghurt (1/2 Syn)....

1700 Dinner
Chicken, SW Chips & Syn Free Veg....

1830 Snack
Choc Bar & Crisps (4 Syn's)....

2000 Snack
Cous Cous (3.5 Syn's), Yoghurt, 2 Apples & Banana....

Daily Syn's: 10.5/15

Weekly Syn's: 37/90

Training: 3 mile run & Exercise Bike Warm Down.

Good luck with the great south run. (but you do know the north run would be better don't you lol) only joking with u.

I have looked at the Great North but your place is chosen by ballot where the Great South is just register....

Also I live 200 plus miles away from the Great North & only 2 miles away from the Great South....

If it goes well I may try for the Great North next year....;-)!!
 
1st have to make syn free bbq sauce
BBQ sauce recipe

you will need
1 onion, peeled and roughly chopped
1 tsp mild chilli powder
227ml/8fl oz passata
3 tbsp artifical sweetner
4 tbsp balsamaic vinegar
1 tbsp worchestershire sauce
1/2 tsp mustard powder
salt and freshly ground blacke pepper.


spray a pan with fry light and saute the onion and chilli powder over a low heat for 5 minutes until softened.

stir in the remaining ingrredients, bring to the boil and simmer for 10 minutes untill thickened.

syn free on both days ready in 20 minutes serves 4 and freezer friendly.
 
Then

2 Skinless and boneless chicken breasts
4 slices of lean fat cut of bacon
Low fat grated cheese ( or cheese used as HEXA)

Method:

Bake the chicken for 20 mins
Remove from oven and spoon 2 tablespoons of BBQ Sauce
Add 2 medallions of bacon on each breast
Grate cheese over the top
Continue to bake for 5-8 minutes

Its really nice.
 
Saturday 24th August
(Day 4 of 6)

0930 Breakfast
Porridge (HE B), Sweetener, Cinnamon & Milk (HE A)....

1300 Lunch
Chicken & Pasta with Light Dressing (2 Syn's)....

1430 Snack
Yoghurt, Apple & Banana....

1700 Dinner
Half Roast Chicken, Jacket Potato & Veg....

2345 Snack
Ham Sandwich (6 Syn's), Yoghurt, 2 Apples, Banana & Orange....

Daily Syn's: 8/15

Weekly Syn's: 45/90

Training: Busy working, so no time for training :-(!!

Now I know why I've never tried Chicken New Yorker....
1, It sounds like hard work &
2, I'm not overly keen on BBQ sauce....

I may have to try it once though....;-)!!

I was going to ask if you like curry. But the once in the sw curry book are hard work. They take ages and you have to put loads of different things in it.
What's your favourite to eat.?

Main: Roast Dinner (11 Syn's)....

Chicken Salad with Salad Cream (2 Syn's)....

Daily Syn's: 15/15

Weekly Syn's: 60/90

No training as spent day working/with friends for lunch/dinner....

I may have to make the sauce for my girls as they love McDonalds BBQ sauce....

I do a mean Syn Free Curry, my own recipe (I'm a qualified chef)....
I will post the recipe later in the week....

I usually live on lean meat, potatoes & veg as it's quick & easy!!
 
Looking forward to the recipe.
I started on ee but now on red days which limits potatos.
But like you I think I may start clucking soon the amount of chicken we eat. My daughter is like oh not chicken again ! Lol.
My husband works nights so when he is home and I can cook for him I like to. Other wise I have simple things. Tonight we are having chicken tikka Masala. (he is having it with chips :eek: I'm being good and having salad.
