Food diary :)

Hi Everyone,

I'm really new to this so I thought I'd post a little about myself and why I'm here :p ..

So at the beginning of this year I was very happy with my weight which was around 9 stone (I'm 5ft4) , I wasn't particularly active but my job involved me being on my feet all day which clearly helped me keep my weight down.

I then got a new job in June which was an office job, since June I have gained between 1-2 stone due to no longer walking to work as well as all the naughty treats everyone seems to bring in. :(

So in order to shift the weight I have joined Slimming World with my mum as well as join the gym in my last hope to lose some weight before my holidays in both Feb & June. I'm particually fussy so this may be a bit of a rough ride but I'm on day 1 and finding it okay so far!!!

As you can probably guess I do like to talk quite a lot ;)

If anyone is in a similar boat to me please feel free to comment on this as any help is really appreciated!

Paige

Hi Paige and welcome!

What day is your class?? Well done for starting the new year with such positivity!
I'm 5ft 2 and joined slimming world in October time after starting a new job, not walking as much and putting on weight (very similar to yourself)
I'm not down to 9 stone 3 (the lightest I've ever been) and a total loss of 1lb shy of 5 stone. I like a natter too so if you have any questions at all then feel free to give me a shout!
Good luck!

Hi Steph!

Thanks for the message! My class is on a Wednesday! How did you find losing the weight?? My first day has been quite good but I have been very tempted I have to admit! My main problem is that I'm very fussy so any advice you have would be great!!

My class is a Thursday morning so keep eachother posted on how we get on if you like.
To be honest I've always given up before getting to goal - I've tried every diet under the sun.
This time round I've found it quite easy to stick to, I'm really determined! I've started to enjoy cooking rather than seeing it as a chore and when I have had a 'bad' day I've felt physically awful after it so that's got me back on plan!!

If you are fussy then I'd say the best thing to do is be really well planned- I find that if you aren't then it's just so easy to grab something and go off plan!

Yes that sounds like a greta idea!! Thats what I'm finding the whole planning part of it is very important, but trying to organise what I am going to have each day can be a bit difficult to plan for though! I keep looking on here for some reciepes and finding some good idea's for meals so thats helped me as well!!

What types of things are you fussy about/not like??
Are you going to so extra easy?? I'll try and give you a few ideas!

Both meat and vegetables hence why I'm finding EE quite difficult :(

Ooo gosh- I can see why you'd find it quite difficult. Do you like quorn/fish?? When you say veg- are you ok with salad??
To be honest, I struggle with EE because I like having an extra A and B but I'm trying extra easy today and possibly tomorrow to see how I get on.

I like quorn but not very much fish, no I don't like salad unfortunately which makes this really hard :( see I've been following green but only having 1 a and b so I need to sort out what I'm doing haha!!

Ok well if you like quorn then there's the obvious spaghetti bolognaise and chilli. Make with passata, oxo cube, you could 'hide' veg in them. Eg, grate some carrots, onions etc into it.
I always used to make spinach and cheese cannaloni on green days too but you could put the quorn mince in the tubes!
Egg fried rice is nice too. Can make it with vegetable stock cubes and put anything you do like into it.
Omelettes are great because you can put in what you like.
If you can handle veg whizzed then tomato soup or butternut squash/sweet potato?
Jacket potatoes with beans/tuna/cottage cheese/prawns.
If you like fruit, it's be worth having a fruit salad after meal to counterbalance your lack of veg.
I'll have a think and let you know if I come up with anything else!
