    Upside down diary from Down Under - Mainly green days

    Hi,

    After finally settling into life in Australia a year after we arrived and trying various diets, I have come to the conclusion that Slimming World is the only sustainable and achievable weight loss plan I have followed. So I am back again but this time I am determined.

    So here we go:

    Wednesday 7th May 2014 - Green Day

    Breakfast: Uncle Toby's Multigrain porridge (HEB) with 180ml SS Milk (HEA)

    Lunch: Quorn Spaghetti Bolognaise (Quorn mince, onion, garlic, tinned tomatoes, spaghetti)

    Dinner: Veg Omelette (Onions, peppers, mushrooms) with New potatoes, steamfresh veg, 30g Liddell's Lactose Free cheese (HEA) and 10ml Mild Nando Sauce (0.5 syn)

    Snacks: Apple, Banana, Pink Grapefruit, Mandarin, Watermelon, Curly Wurly (6 syns)

    Drinks: Water, Pepsi Max, Vitality Tea, Coffee (rest of SS milk for coffee), 1 syn for 1 tsp sugar

    HEA: 250ml SS milk, 30g Liddell's Lactose Free cheese
    HEB: Uncle Toby's Multigrain porridge

    Syns: 10ml Mild Nando sauce (0.5 syn)

    Lunch: 5 Multigrain Corn thins (HEB), with 1 mini tub Philadelphia Light (2.5 syns) and Cherry tomatoes. SW mini quiches ( made with WW Cottage Cheese (4 syns), 2 eggs, 1 slice Sanitarium Smoked slice (0.5 syn) and onion

    Dinner: Stir fry with egg noodles (McCains Stir fry veg, longlife egg noodles, fish sauce, soy sauce, garlic, 1 Quorn burger (0.5 syn)

    Snacks: Apple, Banana, Mandarin, Watermelon,

    So I am a bit homesick at the moment, homesickness is awful, it gets you when you least expect it, just when you think you're starting to settle in it jumps out at you

    Anyway I am glad with the choices I made today, I have never eaten so much cake since I moved here, there are so many morning and afternoon teas with cake, cake and more cake! My friends in work had leftover morning tea from their department, there were pastries, carrot cake and some gorgeous looking fruit kebabs, so I chose wisely and chose the fruit kebabs! (goes off to polish halo!)

    I had a few vodkas tonight to celebrate the end of a working week but rather than free-pour measures I have measured each shot!


    Friday 9th May 2014 - Green Day


    Breakfast: Uncle Toby's Multigrain porridge (HEB) with 180ml SS milk (HEA)

    Lunch: . Stir fry with egg noodles (McCains Stir fry veg, longlife egg noodles, fish sauce, soy sauce, garlic, 1 Quorn burger (0.5 syn) SW mini quiches ( made with WW Cottage Cheese (4 syns), 2 eggs, 1 slice Sanitarium Smoked slice (0.5 syn) and onion

    Dinner: 2.5 Quorn BBQ sausages, SW wedges, Steamfresh Veg (broccoli, green beans & sugarsnap peas) and 5ml Nando mild sauce (0.5 syn)

    Snacks: Apple, Banana, Mandarin, Pink grapefuit, Fruit kebab (pineapple, honeydew melon, rockmelon, watermelon, strawberry), small packet of Parker's Pretzels (5.5 syns)

    Ok so yesterday was a bit of a fail, it is Mothers Day here today (Sunday) so my friend and I went to a Mum's Night Out at a local community centre, it was really good, a glass of champers on arrival, nibbles, raffles and lots of different Mums, the only problem was that they only had wine there and no diet drinks So I had 3 glasses of champers, I'd had a vodka, lime & Soda when the kids went to bed before I went out and then had one when I got back, together with a fun size Crunchie and a fun size Picnic Bar, gah!! Anyway, let's cross it out and move on, it happened, I will take the syns for it and just be good until my week "resets" on Wednesday

    Saturday 10th May 2014 - Green Day


    Breakfast: 1 Slice wholemeal toast (HEB), poached egg, 5g Nuttelex (3 syns), Vegemite and 30g Liddell's Lactose free cheese (HEA)

    Well it's Mothers Day here today, I have been well and truly spoilt, a lovely flower picture from my 5 year old, a pasta necklace and mini pamper kit from my 2 year old, and some really good earphones, a necklace and a red rose handpicked from the garden from Hubby!! I've also had breakfast and a cup of tea in bed and am currently having my dinner cooked for me! Spoilt girl over here!!

    I forgot to update last night as I'm not well, I have CKD and have my first kidney infection in 3 years and feel absolutely awful On a brighter note though I WI this morning and lost 0.4kg, not a great amount of weight but in the right direction and the most important thing is that I have really enjoyed being on SW this week. I forgot how much I enjoy it! I even have some of my friends in work trying my stuffed mushrooms from the other night and am being called "the recipe guru" in work, not bad for someone who's culinary skills stretched to oven chips just 2 weeks ago, haha!!

    Tuesday 13th May 2014 - Green Day

    So since I last posted the kidney infection got the best of me, I pretty much slept most of the day Wednesday-Friday and felt awful, as a result my diet wasn't so good but hey ho!
