Mary's Journey to 10st - Food Diary and other ramblings..

Decided to start a food / rambling diary to try and keep me on plan. I wonder if anyone will read it? :)

A bit about me - I gradually put on weight over a couple of years until I got to around 12.5 stone, the lightest I've been in my adult life is around 10st. The problem is I'm greedy, I love food, and although I eat a lot of healthy things, I love junk food and biscuits and cake and all the naughty things. A before and after pic so far is below!

So - I joined Slimming World once I got to 12 stone, and have found it to be fantastic - WHEN I stick to it that is. My problem is the weekends. I live on my own now (lived with my folks before), and have so much fun going out for food and of course that naughty wine. Oh and my boyfriend loves to cook and eat yummy things too. Also, when I'm at home on my own, watching the telly, I have this inbuilt programme that says I have to be eating something.

So here we go :)

Right - was on plan all week last week, all was going terribly well until Saturday. When I was out with friends, we decided to have a few drinks, one thing led to another and before I know it I probably consumed about a billion syns. Out with the BF yesterday, had a pub lunch (which was delightful).

So a new day today, the plan is:

Breakfast - muller light and a banana
Lunch - Asda Fresh Tastes Char Sui Pork (unsure about this, syn lookup says it's free, calculator says 2 syns, so I'll count the 2)
Dinner - something light as weigh in tomorrow. Have lots of veg in the fridge so maybe something stir fry related.
Snacks - various fruit & veg, cereal bar (HeB) and tea (having milk as my HeA today)

I don't get paid until Thursday, so my meal combinations may be a little weird for the next couple of days!
 
Good luck with your journey but I have to say you look absolutely fab in your pic.

I'm very similar to you. I fail miserably at weekends with food and alcohol. And I'm a TV snacker too!
 
So yesterday ended up like this:
Breakfast - muller light
Lunch - Asda Fresh Tastes Char Sui Pork (listed as Free in the database, but calculator using noodles as the free allowance it works out as 2, so will count 2!)
Dinner - Tuna & Sweetcorn fishcakes (SW recipe) with green beans
Snacks - cereal bar (heB), banana, cadbury fudge (5 syns), tea (milk as heA today), half a chocolate muffin (10 syns I think!! It was forced upon me!)
Total Syns - 17. Whoops.

Weigh day today, really unsure how it's going to go. Hopefully I did enough last week that I've dodged a gain with being a bit naughty at the weekend. However, did have a 2lbs loss last week which I don't think I really deserved, so we shall see!
 
Just had WI - 2.5lbs off, got my stone award and am now down into the 10s (only just, but I'll take what I can get here). Not too many to go now!

Using my syns over the whole week as opposed to day-by-day seems to be working for me so far so I'll stick with it.

How many syns are you allocating for a weekly total - think I might have a go at this x

I'm doing the full 15 per day, but over a week, so counting down from 105. There are a couple of threads on here about it (I started one called Syn Hoarding if you want to have a look) and people have quite mixed views on it, but it seems to be working for me!

It makes me syn less, or tighten up the next day if I need to, whereas before I would've said "oh I'll flexi syn it and write it off".
 
Oh and yesterday ended up like this:

Breakfast - muller light
Lunch - leftover fishcake (free) & salad (beetroot, sweetcorn, cucumber, tomatoes)
Dinner - Pasta & Sauce and 1 Quorn sausage (1 syn)
Snacks - cereal bar (heB), 3 of my friends homemade ginger biscuits! (Estimating 10 syns)
Total Syns - 11

Syns remaining for the week - 77

Today is going to be a very very boring food diary as I get paid tomorrow!
 
Am massively craving superfree food - can't wait to have money tomorrow and buy some FRUIT! :)

So far today..

Breakfast - mullerlight (I promise I will start having a more interesting breakfast)
Lunch - A small serving of Smash with a tin of Spaghetti Hoops.. and ate the only superfree food I have left to my name, a beetroot and some sweetcorn, and 30g cheddar (HeA)
Snacks - I HAD A JAM DOUGHNUT. ARGH. Blame working in an office entirely. 9.5 syns, cereal bar (HeB)

Syns remaining for the week 67.5

Am going to have a nice syn free dinner of something pasta-y! Have a nice evening everyone I am off home! x
 
Thank you! :) So worried about putting on this week though, have a few social events and it's going to be hardddd!

Today is as follows so far:

Breakfast - muller light with grapes and strawberries
Lunch - 3 Ryvita with laughing cow light and cherry tomatoes (HeB and HeA)
Snacks - Cadbury Fudge (5 syns)

Off to the MILs for dinner, she always makes really stodgy food so I am a bit scared!! And she doesn't get on board with the whole Slimming World thing so I feel a bit sabotaged!
 
Last night's dinner was actually ok I think... I had

A jacket potato with a curry type dish, and a bit of bolognase. I avoided the cheese as I'd already had my HeA, and I had 1 glass of Pimms and a small slice of birthday cake.

Whoops. No idea re: the syns as I was too scared to ask her the ingredients (we're not that close and didn't want her to think I was being fussy).

Back on plan today, am going to try and have a very minimal syns day!
 
Today has been -

Breakfast - Muller light (predictable that wasn't it) and a satsuma

Lunch - 2 Ryvita with 2 Laughing Cow Light, cucumber and celery (part of HeB and HeA, I wasn't trying to only have part of them but I got bored of the Ryvita so only ate 2, same for the Laughing Cow!)

Dinner - I plan to have Salmon, broccoli and a baked potato

Snacks - banana, pineapple, apple, AND A MUFFIN!!! (20 syns)

Syns for the day - 20!!!

Weigh in tomorrow, very ashamed of myself for my Muffin incident today. And for the whole weekend to be honest, it's been pretty bad, I can't even remember half of it, I'm in birthday mode already and still a week to go!
