Got to lose that chub!!

Hi all,

I'm new to Slimming World having previously done Lipotrim and losing 3 stones.

After losing the weight I became pregnant and needless to say, a lot of weight has crept back on!!

I'm hoping to lose nearly 3 stone, so fingers crossed I can do it this way rather than 3 shakes a day!!

Could someone just check if I am going the right way about this as I start my food journey....

Many thanks,

Sam

Monday 18th August.......

Breakfast; Banana and Mullerlight yoghurt, cheesestring and Belvita biscuits
Snack; Skips
Lunch; Lettuce, bit of ham, beetroot, sweetcorn, cucumber and spinach salad
Snack; Grapes and Strawberries
Tea will be; Chicken breast and vegetables - Green beans, carrots, runner beans and broccoli

I have drank 2 litres of water will probably do another litre and had 2 black coffees.

I know the Belvita biscuits aren't great but could I have them as my syns?

Would be grateful if someone could advise.......

Hi, I agree with what lilly said. The Belvita are quite high in syns(between 2.5 and 5.5 syns each depending on the flavour) as they're just biscuits and not as healthy as people think. You need to make sure your having your Healthy Extras - one A choice and 1 B choice - each day, and also between 5 and 15 syns. Otherwise the free food aspect of it looks great. Keep up the good work xx

Thank you both that's a really great help.

LiL- I tried to do EE yesterday but I keep getting confused on what I need to eat on what day.....

I am going to stop eating the belvita biscuits as they don't seem worth all those syns!!

Tuesday 19th August.....

Breakfast; Banana
Snack; Cheesestring and skips
Lunch; Lettuce, sweetcorn, ham and silverskin pickles
Tea will be; Big Daddy Burger and wedges as per the SW recipe without coleslaw though as I don't like it.

also had 2 litres of water, grapes and strawberries

Is this another EE day? Confused.....

Hiya hon your very welcome.

The thing is sweetcorn isnt classed as a free vegetable unless your doing a green day. If its a red day then the sweetcorn will have to be synned BUT if its and EE day then you are ok with sweetcorn providing its only a 3rd of a plate. Im afraid I havent attempted EE myself as i found it quite confusing but from what i can gather you can have one 3rd meat one 3rd carbs and one 3rd vegetables thats not classed as a carb
Hope this helps and hasnt confused you more

I think you're a bit confused too. Sweetcorn is free on green and EE. Baby sweetcorn is free on all 3 plans. On EE you can have 2/3 of the plate of free food and they recommend 1/3 of superfree(which are all fresh fruit(except avocado) and non starchy veg. Your free foods on EE comprise of lean meat, poulty and fish, potatoes, rice, dried pasta, all other veg, fat free dairy and some quorn/tofu type products. If in doubt, it's all in the book :)

What are you actually using for your Heb? As you've not said? If you can manage without it as your snack, you could have your beans on a slice of wm toast as your B choice. Don't forget you'll need to syn your cheese string too :) The other option with the cheese string would be to use it as part of your heA as you can have 2 for an A choice. You get 350ml of skimmed milk so if you only used half of that for your cereal you could count the cheesestring as your other half.
Also Was the egg fried rice one you'd made your self? As if not, that could possibly have syns in too - altho it's not a huge problem as you get 15 a day :)
Was this meant to be an extra easy day or a green day? As if it's extra easy you could do with some superfree with your meals, but if it was a green day you get another HEB and an optional.2nd HEA too x

Good point, haven't got a HexB...?? I suppose I can do what you said with my toast, yep I will do that, thank you!!

I only literally had a dash of milk, so could put the cheese string in to HexA!

And yes the Egg fried rice is my own from SW - the exact recipe so am I right in thinking this is free if I'm on a Green day today? and my beans on toast is ok?

I wanted to go green and going to try red tomorrow as I haven't even dropped a lb since I have started this!!

Thanks for reading this and helping me x

Jo, do you think I'm eating enough? What days work for you better?

Jo, do you think I'm eating enough? What days work for you better?

The beauty of sw is that you can eat free foods to satisfy your appetite, so if you're not hungry then you're doing OK x you may find it takes your body a few weeks to get used to eating again if you've been on a meal replacement, but if you stick with it you'll be ok. I tend to stick to original and green myself to be honest, with the occasional extra easy day xx

Breakfast looks ok, but I think you're getting your healthy extras mixed up. Bran flakes will be a heb and so will.your alpen light (Altho you get 2 alpen lights as a B choice) and the milk and your babybel will be your 2 x HEa.
Sweetcorn in your lunch will.need to be synned unless it's baby sweetcorn, and your boiled potatoes will too. Other than that it looks good. :)

If you can do without the alpen bar as a snack then you can have 200g of new potatoes as your second B choice? Sweetcorn is 5 syns per 100g x

Sorry only just seen this - so you've probably eaten your tea too! But if you mean baked beans they'd need to be synned too xx
