The Final Fresh Start!! ( I mean it this time!)

Hiii so Im in my early twenties...fatter than ever ...and serious about shifting it.

I've done Slimming World in the past (a few times!) and its worked well but I've always ended up losing focus and falling off the wagon. Stepping on the scales and seeing I'm firmly in the 13s is disgusting to me - I'm the biggest I've ever been and I was so shocked (deep down I knew since none of my clothes fit :sigh:).

So anyway this diary is mainly for myself to keep me on track since I won't be attending classes (too poor!). I still have the book from the last time I signed up and I know the plan pretty well.

I'm taking things a stone a time. I want to lose 3 stone but I'm putting that to the back of my mind and just focusing on getting to 12 stone (where I was just a couple of months ago!)

I'll be sticking to EE. I love Slimming world because I love meals that don't feel like 'diet food' I love to feel well fed!

I would REALLY appreciate any words of encouragement and support....like really really really!

Ok so lets get started today:

Started today with walking my puppy, followed by a half hour workout from youtube (I'm so unfit!).

Breakfast: Was very late...after the walk, workout and a shower. I made Baked oats...which was just 35g of oats (HEB), tspn almond extract, 1 banana, 1 apple, few dashes of skimmed milk, sweetener and cinnamon. (this was my first time making baked oats, I fancied something warm and wintery with the terrible weather...they turned out pretty nice, I cut them into individual fingers and had them with coffee..it was sort of like really warm moist oatmeal cookies).

Lunch: Roast chicken (skinless) , 2 v.small roast potatoes and lots of broccoli and spinach.

I think I'll have skinless chicken again for dinner but I'm not sure what with yet (probably update later)

I hope to take the pup for a second walk but the weather is appalling. I'm actually pretty hungry now, but that's probably because my brain is saying I'm on 'diet mode'. But even though I'm hungry I have no desire to eat, which I guess is a step in the right direction!

Oh my HEA was 350 ml of Skimmed Milk, I've measured it out and used some in the baked oats and the rest in teas and coffee throughout the day. No syns planned as of yet. That will probably change later!

Breakfast
Baked Oats - 35g Oats (HEB) Apple, Banana, Milk (part HEA)

Lunch
Skinless Roast Chicken, Broccoli, Spinach, 2 Small Roast Potatoes.

Dinner
Chicken Tikka (Skinless), Vegetable Wholegrain Rice , Broccoli and Spinach

Snack
Teas and Coffee throughout the day using rest of HEA.
Oat kind of cookies? (just oats, caramel extract, banana, apple and cinnamon and a dash of milk - like I made earlier)

Syns 7/15 :
For the Oat cookies I used two servings of what would be a HEB of oats so thats 12 syns (Im assuming - correct me if Im wrong?!) Then I divided this into 6 servings and I plan to eat 3 of them- 6 Syns. I know you're supposed to syn cooked fruit but I won't - I think it's silly because 2 apples and 2 bananas in one day isn't what I'd consider an excessive amount....plus it is the only snack I've had today. I think it's down to the individual to exercise common sense with these lomd of rules.

I added on an extra syn because I've finished my milk allowance and will probably want tea later!

I'm pretty pleased with today - I'd like to stay around the 7 Syn mark...I hope this positivity stays up!

So today I've already walked to the shops and back, then took the pup for a walk.

I made some baked oats this morning. Plan to do a workout and then have breakfast.

Plan for today:

Breakfast: Linda McCartney Mushroom and Spinach Burger (1.5 syns) 2 Scrambled Eggs, a slice of Low Low Burger Slices (2 Syns) and a side of mushrooms for my superfree. Ketchup (2 Syns)

Lunch: I plan to pick throughout the day on fruit and my baked oats.

Dinner: EL Minced Beef Bolognese type thing with Jacket Potato and some kind of superfree (not sure what yet).

HEXB : Oats
HEXA : Skimmed Milk (used in baked oats, dash in scrambled Eggs and lots of teas and coffees). I'll probably use more than my allowance so I'll factor in a couple of extras syns for that.

Total Syns : 7.5

The day went as planned except with addition of 20g of LF cheddar for 3 syns. Bringing my total total Syns to 10.5

There was lots of superfree in the mince but I didn't have a side of veg so it wasn't a third. It was yummy though!

UPDATE: Couldn't resist a multipack bag of quavers @ 4.5 Syns.

Total Syns 15 on the dot! Bang goes my idea to aim for 7 a day :break_diet:

Today has been very busy!

Breakfast : Nothing as I was in rush

Lunch: Tuna Salad - Was so proud of myself as I was out for lunch and I got a salad box with plain tuna (no dressing or mayo) Lots of superfree and I even swapped my regular hazelnut latte for a tea

Snack: Was still hungry when I got home so I made a grilled cheese with some of the mince from yesterday. SW always makes me come up with the strangest concoctions, but it was yummy! No superfree (except what was in the mince) but I think I had enough superfree with my rabbit feast earlier!

Dinner: Will be the leftover bolognese with pasta and a side salad. SW already makes me use up all my leftovers!! Which I guess is a good thing

HEXB: 2 slices of wholemeal with the grilled cheese.

HEXA: Milk in teas and coffees throughout the day (caffeine addict!)

Syns: 2 slices of Low Low burger Slices with the grilled cheese- 4 Syns
I have a pack of the little Kinder bars - They're just 3.5 Syns - I'm going to aim for one but they are tiny so I may have two if I fancy it!

Total Syns: 7.5 (or 11 if I show no restraint)

Dinner:
Gosh why is it whenever I make bolognese there's always farrrr too much!! I still have some for lunch tomorrow but I'm sure I wont make spag bol for another year!

This was a little naughty as no additional superfree...defo haven't had my third today! But my fridge was lacking side salad ingredients (I did have good intentions I promise!). I'm so full having bread followed by a massive portion of spag bol...doesn't feel like a diet at all but I'm well withing my syns so I guess I shouldn't feel guilty! (Why is it I only feel like I'm being 'good' when my stomach's rumbling?!)

Total Syns for yesterday was 11 (I had the extra kynder bar!)

Lunch: Same as yesterday - Grilled Cheese with mince

Dinner: Heck Sausages, Quinoa with vegetables and a side of red cabbage and apple. wholegrain mustard, gravy

HEXA: Milk in Teas and Coffee
HEXB: 2 slices of wholemeal

Syns - 2 slices of low low burger cheese for lunch (4)
5 Heck Sausages (2)
1 tbsp Wholegrain mustard (1)
Gravy - Only had a splash (2)

Woah today has been quite syn heavy. But I probably will have a cuppa and a treat size twix for 5 syns - because its just been one of those days where I need chocolate. No pics today as I shoveled my food down while working!

Total Syns: 14

I only started Monday, done if many many times before along with ww, Atkins, 5:2, calorie counting!!!

My mum joined a few months ago and she's lost nearly two stone she looks fab and she's now my inspiration. We have always shared clothes and now I can't coz she's too slim!!

I will start a food diary as that is defo one of my downfalls.... Here's yesterday's from memory...

B- grapes and blueberries
L- jacket, beans, side salad
D- homemade veg soup, 2 brown bread toasted with laughing cow.

S- teas, diet drinks, fruit, muller light.

Yesterday was a good day, can't think of anything I had with any sins in. I'm really trying to start off with very low sins as I know when time goes on I'll want treats and goodies but for now I'm trying to be completely treat and goody free!!

Today I'm going to make BBQ chicken for tea so I'll see how that goes. My partner is a veggie so it's difficult to cook different dinners but I've told him he will just have to fend for himself.

I'm on maternity leave at the moment so I have the chance to plan and cook most days. I'm back to work in jan and I'm sure things will change then so trying to get as much weight off now!!

Congrats to your mom! At least you have someone around showing you the plan does work.. I'm sure that she'll push you through!

Food Sounds good hun!

Don't be scared of your syns though. I remember the first time I did slimming world and I wasn't getting my syns (because I thought I'd be "extra good") anyway I didn't lose... Or I had really slow losses. My consultant told me to make sure I get at least 7 syns a day and when I did that I lost!

I have no idea why... Maybe something to do with your body going into starvation mode... I don't know I'm guessing.

Anyway the point is it's a really great plan so sometimes it feels too good to be true! But it does work (your mom is evidence of that!) so you just. Have to trust it :).

Been awol as I've been sick the past few days. Completely off plan!

I was terrible but I wasn't paying attention to what I was eating. I'm mad at myself for having a blip so early on but I guess the important thing is I'm back on the horse.

Started today with a 'wrap' filled with turkey rashers, mushrooms, Low Low burger slices and syn free ketchup.

It wasn't nice (I seasoned the egg and the ketchup so there was just too much salt going one) so I could only manage one.

I'm starving now but not sure what to have.

Will update later.

UPDATE : LUNCH

I made syn free hummus with crisps. I know its considered 'food abuse' but I didn't syn the crisp because I only made one potato worth and I ate them as part of a meal...so no different to a jacket really!

This was my first time making the hummus and it was delicious...probably my fave thing I've made on SW! I enjoyed this meal sooo much!

Dinner will be SW style burgers (I've already prepped them) may have a wholemeal roll with it as I haven't had my HEB yet. And i'll serve with salad , maybe a few chips too if I can be bothered!)

HEA: 3 Low Low cheese slices for burgers (1 for breakfast as I didn't eat my second wrap so I'll have 2 at dinner)

HEB: Wholemeal roll

Syns:3 x dashes of Skimmed Milk 1.5
Mustard or Mayo or Ketchup (wasn't too keen on my home made ketchup!) for the burgers: 2
Might have a little kynder with my tea later : 3.5

Total: 7 Syns

Wraps look amazing- what's the sun free ketchup sounds lovely mmmmm.

Glad you're back on track now we all have times where we fall off especially when poorly and need junk food!!

Had my first weigh in yesterday, lost 5.5lbs!! Yey!!! Go me!!

Just having some super speed soup now whilst the baby has a nap xx

And yes I am much better thanks, managed to get the puppy out today...even though it wore me out!

I started with at least 2st to lose and am approaching my first target now. It's taken me since march but I have definitely had some wobbles along the way!
What kind of puppy have you got and what's his/her name? Dogs are great for enforcing exercise lol xx

Dinner: Stuck to the plan so far still undecided on the kinder! Dinner was one of those moments when you realise how GREAT slimming world is! :D

Not sure what I'm going to be having today... Might start with some shreddies for breaky, going out this morning so might have a jacket when I get back and I think it's pasta in tomatoe sauce for tea, going to play netball too. So if I stick to my initial thoughts today should be a good day ?

Well I usually par boil the chips but this time I just banged them in the oven and I think they actually turned out better!

Sounds like a yummy and healthy day for you! And exercise too! I need to find an activity that I do regularly... Haven't played netball since school though! Lol.

Started the day with a banana as I'm in a rush.

I work from home 90% of the time but I have a few meetings to attend this week so at least I'll be up and about. I'm hoping to get an office soon so I can develop a bit more of a routine and incorporate some form of exercise too.

Lunch: leftover cheese burger and a roll, celery and hummus

Dinner: probably fishcakes and veg

Hex A: 2 slices of low low cheese for burgers and a third of the skimmed Milk allowance

Hex B : Wholemeal roll

Syns: Going allocate 3 for sauce with the burger and maybe some sweet chilli

Total: 3 syns

I have a family meal on Saturday at one of those round the world buffet places... I'm going to try and be good as possible but realistically I'm not going to stick to the salad bar!

So anyway I'm going to try and do low syns for today,Thursday Friday and Saturday day time in order to prepare... Hopefully I can remain in my weekly syns allowance. I always find it easier to hold back before a big event rather than trying to make up for it afterwards. At least this way I will be rewarded with a treat and I won't have to feel guilty. Trying to pull back syns after an event never seems to work for me!



UPDATE: Lunch was yum - had the burger with Pastrami (I think its free- correct me if I'm wrong?!) gherkins, jalapenos, rocket, EL mayo (1 syn) , syn free ketchup and 1 slice of Low Low cheese. Served with celery and the hummus I made yesterday.

Your pics of your burgers made me crave them!! So opted for a large lunch of burger and chips!! Will have a smaller tea later before netball.
Chips are a success this time, baby loves them two so that's a double success!! Xx
