Changing habits one day at a time

Hi there, I'm a 32 mum of 5 (ages ranging 13years to 3 months). I started out a perfect size 10, after number 1 and a horrid split up I plummeted to a titchy, ill looking 8. I'd eat what I want and the weight would never go up :confused: I then met my now husband and after #2 my weight started to gradually go up and I was a size 10 again, #3 brought a size 12, #4 I managed to stay a size 12 but after a year or two started to push the very top end of a 12 and #5 has bought me to the top end of a 14 ie I am really struggling to do the buttons up, I have even put on more weight since having my baby :( If it was a toned and shapely 14 I could cope but no it's flabby, bread dough type skin and I am doing myself no favours. I will often skip breakfast and spend my days gorging on biscuits, chocolate, crisps with no proper meal. I would then have a proper evening meal, and even though we eat healthily in those meals I would often smother it in mayonnaise. Evening meal would be followed by a pudding ie chocolate sponge and ice cream or crumble and custard which would then be followed by the evening snackathon :sigh::sigh::sigh::sigh:

Yesterday I woke up to a photo someone had put on facebook and for the first time I truely saw what I had been ignoring, I look fat and it's not pretty. I burst into tears and vowed there and then to change. I had previously done slimming world so pulled out all my bumpf. Luckily most of our evening meals do not need changing but I need to break my no day meal habit and my evening snacking, as well as the mayonnaise!

My current weight is 12st 1.6lbs, I plan to set myself small goals to reach with the intention of eventually losing just under 3 stone which would take me mid range of a healthy BMI. My first goal is to get below 12 stone :)

So here I am, my food diary......

Day 1 - Sunday 19th October 2014


Breakfast
Tesco blueberry wheats, semi skimmed milk and a cup of tea (I pour my daily milk allowance into a jug in the fridge and use this through out the day)

Snack
No snack

Lunch
Salad, tinned premium ham and 2 hard boiled eggs with a tbs of balsamic glaze (0.5syns) & tsp sized dollop of light mayo (2syns)

Snack
No Snack

Dinner
Homemade wedges, salad and chicken breast with 1/4 a pack of nando's lemon and herb rub (1syn) & small dollop of light mayo (2syns)

Evening treat
A tesco wild whippy (6syns)

Total for the day 11.5syns

Also made a massive batch of bean and bacon soup for lunches during the week.
