Hi :) I'm Gem, 23 and this is my diary.. I started SW on 13th June 2014 and have currently lost 3st7.5lbs! I want to lose 10 stone in total. I love slimming world; I find the plan easy to follow and I eat healthier now than I ever have! I'm not an amazing or very inventful cook but I do try! I love taking pictures of what I'm eating if I enjoy it so I'll be adding those on to.

Thanks for reading :) xx

So here's my day one... I will add that although I always have 3 main meals a day my breakfasts aren't actual breakfast food most of the time. If I start work at half 12 I often eat at 11 so I sometimes have omelette etc but not always.
Anyway...

B/morning meal: veg soup! (Swede, carrot, leek, potato) with bacon bits.
Aldi greek style lemon yoghurt

L: Leftover stir fry- noodles (0.5), chow mein sauce (2), onion, mushrooms, peppers, carrot, beansprouts. Muller light yoghurt.

image-2676904265.jpg

T: (didn't get home from work til 10 so was starving) 16 quorn chicken nuggets (8), aldi extra light mayo (1)

Snacks: onion rings (3.5), 2x hifi light (heB), 2x cheese string (heA)

The sunglasses was not supposed to be there it was meant to say 8 for the syns in nuggets lol. 1) syns used in total x

I've struggled with superfree today not really had any at all because I've not got a lot in and I don't get paid until next Friday! So it's been a lot of using tinned stuff etc.

B: "fried eggs", 4x quorn hotdogs ( 2 ), beans, mushrooms

L: long grain rice, smart price can chilli ( 1 ), muller light

T: (break at work so not really a meal): mug shot minestrone, 2 x hifi light ( B ), 2 x cheese string, weight watchers poppadoms ( 3.5 ), greek yoghurt

S: (hungry when home from work again!): 15 quorn chicken nuggets (7.5), ketchup (1)

Total syns: 15

I normally weigh in on a Friday but I'm going to Birmingham for the day tomorrow to visit my sister at uni with my mum. We'll probably go out for lunch but I really want to stay on plan! Will try to be good :)

I really tried to be good today! I started off so well. Had to eat breakfast in the car so had 2 hifi lights ( b) and a banana. Then for lunch in debenhams cafe and I chose a jacket potato with prawns and salad. Not too bad up to now!
Then we went around the xmas market which is where it went down hill! But could have been worse because I did share everything with my sister and mum so we didn't have one each.... Shared a hot dog, some roasted cashews, a chocolate marshmallow and a hot chocolate. Then went to Jamie's Italian for tea and had chicken with chillis and mushrooms.
I'm not too dissappointed with today, I've enjoyed today and I do always stick to it 100% (even when I've gained) because I need do. Back on it from now! :) x

Sounds like you had a fab day hun! :D
This is the thing I love with slimming world, you can do this on occasion and thanks to your syns, there isn't to much damage, and good on you for sharing with your mum and sister! I wouldn't have ;)
What is life without the odd treat :p I think I would have had more than you going around the xmas market LOL :D
xx

Had a lovely day :) yeah I could have done a lot worse I guess lol. Mum and sister also shared a big sugary pretzel but I refused :) got to have to odd treat though haven't you :)
It's defo hard hard in places like that to stay on plan :/ xx

So yesterday I was back on plan! (Well I thought I was until the evening when I had a foo yung from the Chinese thinking it would be low syn as its just omelette!) also lacking superfree again yesterday. (Lacking pictures also lol)

B: bacon, scrambled egg, mushrooms, beans, banana, toffee mullerlight

L: jacket potato, beans, ham, coleslaw ( 2 )

S;: 15 quorn nuggets (7.5), macoroni cheese pasta n sauce (1.5)

T: gammon, mushrooms, sw chips, cheese (heA), 2 hifi light (heB) total 15 syns used

Then my fiancé had a Chinese and I had the foo yung. I read online it could be 25 syns but surely they don't use that much oil!?

Worried I've ruined my week now after the market and Chinese. The last 6 weeks I've only lost 1/2 lb in total as I've been up and down. Feel so gutted as I aimed to get to 5 stone for xmas. Doubt I'll even get to 4 :(

It is really shocking how much oil some places use to cook food, try not to get down hun, move on from it and carry on :) there is still about 5 weeks until xmas, not sure if you have money available to go shopping, but are you able to head out to buy some more fruit, salad and veg? If you buy all the salad, chop it all up, mix it together and stick it in an air tight container in the fridge, that way its always to hand, just take some out ready, as it can be a pain if you are having a lazy day (my problem lol) or just lacking time etc

My normal day of food is something like this...

Breakfast:
Mullerlight yog, fruit i.e apple, orange, strawberries, pears etc, depends how much fruit I have in, but a large fruit salad with the yogurt poured over is yummy or
'Fry up' lean bacon, tomatoes, eggs, mushrooms, normally use my HexB for toast

Lunch:
Egg salad, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, spring onions, ham, use a few syns on extra light mayo and light salad cream or
Tuna pasta with cucumber, spring onions and sweetcorn, use a few syns on extra light mayo and light salad cream (I have this mainly when I am really hungry as very filling)

Dinner:
Mushroom and onion tomato pasta, really yummy, I make the sauce using tinned tomatoes, some powdered garlic, worcester sauce, and whatever herbs I have in the cupboard, then crumble a beef oxo cube in it, makes it nice and rich :) with cheese on top using HexA or
5% beef cheeseburgers HexA for cheese slices HexB for wholemeal roll with slimming world chips, I add lots of diced onions to my burger when making them, plus I normally have a bowl of salad on the side as well as in my burger, couple of syns for ketchup

This way I use super free foods in all of my meals, so if for dinner I decide on something else it isn't to bad as I have had 2 meals with super free already, most of the time, my meals don't use any syns or I will use 2-3 for sauces so I get to save the rest for a bag of monster munch and a curly wurly to have in the evening when watching tv :p but if I am really hungry then I syn more bread and have a sandwich in the evening and a bag of crisps.

I have a recipe for fake away chicken chow mein if you would like me to post it? it is heavenly!! it tastes just like the Chinese and you and your hubby can indulge and you won't feel guilty ;) it serves 4 and uses 1/2 a syn on EE, it is very simple to do, doesn't take long at all, plus it will save you some money which is always a good thing and can go towards buying yourself some new clothes as a Christmas treat ;) hehe thats what I am doing :D

I hope this helps, and you don't feel like I am butting my nose in
xx

Of course your not butting in! I'm so thankful for the advice :) I think I've lost my way a bit and defo need to up my superfree and I have no excuse as my dad is an arable farmer so I can have all the veg I want for free lol. And I also work for a supermarket! Your foods sounds lovely but also easy to do so I need to get back on it! I've never even had spring onions before so think I'll get some of those :) I hardly eat any fruit but I'm gonna try have it for breakfast with yoghurt it sounds lovely :)

I'd love that chow mein recipe please :)

Thats great to hear hehe I would love to get free veg! lucky you :p working for a supermarket is good to because you'll get discount :D I like to make food as simple as possible but really tasty, I just had a ham and cheese omelette for lunch, nice quick and filling lol sometimes I'll have a plain or ham omelette as a snack mid afternoon or mid morning if I get really hungry just because its free.

I think one of the things is we start to slip a bit with the superfree, I have done it too, I try to stay stocked up but if it runs down I will have some days with no superfree or a very small amount, but I can really feel it, thats why I try to have mainly fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, its tasty easy and bang on plan, I will add that chow mein recipe with pictures for you now :)
glad I could help xx

4 chicken breast diced
350g dried egg noodles

2. Chop all veg whilst the chicken is marinating.

3. Cook the noodles-drain-set aside.

4. Spray wok with frylight, place on high heat, add the marinated chicken and stir fry for 5 minutes.

5. Add the carrot, bamboo shoots (if having), red peppers, baby corn and spring onions and stir fry for 5 minutes.

6. Add the noodles, beansprouts, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce and sesame oil, toss everything together cook for 4 minutes.

7. Serve hot and enjoy!

This is really quick and easy to do, I was worried it was going to go wrong and be nasty haha but was sooo yummy! :D My partner got hooked on it, we had it 4 days straight! luckily it did us over 2 days, so in 4 days only cooked twice which is always a nice bonus, he was a bit down when he wanted it for the 5th day and I said NO! hahaha yes I loved it, but wanted a burger instead hehe

That sounds lush! Thanks. Will defo be trying that :)

So I've not really been tracking on here very well! To be honest I weighed myself the other day (huge mistake I know) and I have gained 1 lb. If I had got back on plan I probably could have lost that and more but instead I fell off the wagon! I had a massive takeaway the other night followed by a box of poppets which I didn't even like but still scoffed the lot! Then yesterday I had fish and chips with curry sauce from the chippy then 3 packs of walkers crisps and 2 aero biscuit bars. I felt disgusting and so upset that I did that and I was so ill. But enough is enough! I went shopping yesterday and I have access to all the veg I want so no more excuses!
Last night I made Turkey mince bolognese with lots of superfree tomatoes, mushrooms and onions followed by a banana, orange and muller light yoghurt and was stuffed!
I woke up this morning and really craved the cheese and onion crisps but I left them well alone and cooked me and fiancé a "fry up" sw style which has filled me up! It's weigh day tomorrow so not looking forward to that but maybe getting on those scales in group will give me the kick I need!

I know how you feel hun, I did this before, had a kebab and felt awful, but luckily I managed to get off the 5lb!!! I had gained plus another lb by weigh day, I think you will be fine, even if you have gained a lb at least you know you are working it back off by getting back on plan :) don't let it get you down, just think of the following week when you weigh, I got on the scales yesterday and it said I gained 6lb, not sure how lol been on plan, actually never mind totm is due, so going to disregard the next 2 weeks weigh in's I think and just believe what the 3rd week says :D haha

It is a good job my chippy is down the bottom of a massive hill, I don't drive or I think I would have followed suit, I keep craving chippy fish and chips lol so going to make my own slimming world version again very soon.

Good on you for getting back on track! we all have blips, but a lot of people just spiral and carry on eating bad, but you have put your self right back on track because you obviously want to lose weight :)
Wishing you lots of luck for your weigh in, don't beat yourself up and concentrate on the next weigh in, maybe hide the scales too haha, I have now, my OH is going to bring them down once a week (again :D)
xx
