My Journey to Target - Slowly Slowly Catchy Monkey

:welcome: to my diary.

Along with many of you I have decided to start a diary for several reasons:

  1. To be held accountable
  2. To keep track as once I hand in my lovingly filled in weekly diet sheets to SW each week I have no idea what I ate/drank the week before
  3. To see if any patterns emerge and I can reel myself in if something working

My lightbulb moment was just over 2 years ago...I had always been underweight so being overweight wasn't something I considered....the thought was inconceivable at times...always the one that could eat whatever and whenever I wanted with no effect.

My sister asked me to be matron of honour at her wedding and I was mortified at the size of me trying on dresses and ultimately the pictures.

Fast forward 2 years...a cocktail of medication for bipolar disorder hasn't been kind to me either and I am now a stone heavier than I was then....

I casually mentioned to my beloved sis that I was thinking of going to SW and was secretly deflated when I heard her reply 'That's a great idea!' instead of protests that I didn't need to :asskick:

No date has been set but me and my partner of almost 9 years are planning a wedding in 2015 and I really don't want to be this size in my wedding pics.

Along the way I plan to set some SMART goals to help me along the way and give me some much needed motivation.

SMART goals are:

Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Realistic
Timebound

I hope that you enjoy my journey with me and reading my diary as much as I do reading others. I have found them really inspiring so "Keep on, keeping on" :D

I just reached enough posts to add an avatar so this is me at my worst as matron of honour at my sister's wedding. The saddest thing is because I hated how I looked there isn't even a picture of me just with my beautiful sister on the happiest day of her life :(
