Slimming World from Down Under - Green/EE Days

Pesky pescetarian from Australia!
So I am back....again! This time I am determined that I will lose some weight! We have been living in Australia for almost 2 years now and will be going back to the UK in July for 3 weeks so I would like to lose at least 10kg initially and then hopefully another 5kg!

Saturday 3rd January

Breakfast:
35g Sultana Bran (HEB), 100ml SS milk (part HEA), banana

Lunch: SW Mini muffins (Coles 97% free cottage cheese, 4 eggs, red onion, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, 2 Sanitarium smoked slices (1 syn)

Dinner: Mushroom, Spinach and Tomato Risotto (made with 1tbsp Olive OIl (HEB), vegetable stock, arborio rice, 1/4 bottle James Squire One Fifty Lashes Pale ale (2 syns), spinach leaves, tomatoes, portobella mushrooms, topped with 30g Lactose free cheddar (HEA))

Snacks: Nectarine, Fun sticks (chocolate wafer biscuits) (4 syns)

Drinks: Soda water, Lactose free cappucino (rest of HEA milk), 1tsp sugar (1 syn)

Total Syns: 2 Sanitarium smoked slices (1 syn), 1/4 bottle James Squire One Fifty Lashes Pale ale (2 syns), 1tsp sugar (1 syn), Fun sticks (4 syns) = 8 syns

First day done and dusted, Hubby tried to convince me to have a Chinese takeaway tonight but I told him I was serious about losing weight and I can't sabotage it on Day 1! Needless to say he made the Risotto for dinner! We have accidentally ordered loads of spinach and mushrooms with our weekly shopping so I think they're going to make a few appearances this week!
 
Back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off so that should be interesting, although I am looking forward to having a full day of 2 little monkeys not following me around shouting "Mummyyyyyyy" all day!

Food-wise I need to get myself organised tonight to ensure I have enough food to last me the day. I have never worked somewhere where there is so much cake! We're on the Executive level of a large science building and the Aussie's are known to like their Morning Teas! Part of the problem with my weight gain is that the local coffee shop near work does the most delicious banana and raspberry bread known to man! Then they toast it and butter it, OMG!! So it is going to be a challenge for me tomorrow when I get to work not to have banana bread with my morning coffee! :eek:

Sunday 4th January

Breakfast:
2 Linda McCartney Sausages (4 syns), poached Egg, tinned tomatoes, 2 slices Country Split wholemeal bread (HEB)

Lunch: Small Cappucino (HEA for milk), 1 sugar (1 syn)

Dinner:
Roast with all the trimmings! 2 Quorn burgers (1 syn), broccoli, cauli, carrot & swede, 2 Yorkshire puddings (4 syns), 1 tsp Bisto (1 syn)

Snacks:
Fruit salad (Nectarine, Watermelon, Blueberries, grapes)

Drinks:
Soda water, Sprite Zero

Total Syns:
2 Linda Mc Sausages (4 syns), 2 Quorn Burgers (1 syn), 1tsp sugar (1 syn), 2 Yorkshire puddings (4 syns), 1 tsp Bisto (1 syn) = 11 syns

So it was back to work today after 2 weeks off, it was really quiet and not as bad as I thought it would be, food-wise I did really well, preparing my lunch and snacks last night and I wasn't hungry at all today!
Monday 5th January

Breakfast:
30g Sultana Bran & 50 ml SS milk (part HEA). Banana

Lunch: 2 Quorn Fillets, Steamfresh veggies (broccoli, peas, green beans and corn) and 1tbsp Nando's Marinade (0.5 syn) - This was surprisingly tasty & filling. Nectarine

Dinner:
2 Linda McCartney Sausages (4 syns), mushrooms, spinach, "fried" Egg, 1/4 can SPC baked beans (1 syn), 2 slices Country Split wholemeal bread (HEB), 1 tsp Nuttelex spread (1 syn)

Snacks:
Fruit salad (Strawberries, Blueberries, grapes), SW muffins (syns taken on Saturday)

Drinks:
Soda water, Coke Zero, Water, medium skinny Cappucino (HEA for SS milk) with 1 sugar (1 syn)

Total Syns:
2 Linda Mc Sausages (4 syns), 1 tsp Nuttelex (1 syn), 1tsp sugar (1 syn), 1/4 can SPC beans (1 syn), 1 tbsp Nando sauce (0.5 syn) = 7.5 syns

I'm really getting back into SW and really starting to enjoy it! Aswell as following the plan I am also keeping an eye on my calories via a tracking app, just because I can have unlimited pasta, rice, potatoes etc on Green Days doesn't mean that I have to eat as much as possible! But on the other hand I don't want to starve either!

So here's my day:


Tuesday 6th January

Breakfast:
30g Lowan Muesli (HEB) & 50 ml SS milk (part HEA). 1/2 Banana (it was too spotty and I hate spotty banana's!)

Lunch: 2 Quorn Fillets, Steamfresh veggies (broccoli, peas, green beans and corn) and 1tbsp Nando's Marinade (0.5 syn). Nectarine

Dinner:
Tofu Chow Mein (I made this as I went along and it was delicious, sometimes the chow mein's I make are too dry or not enough flavour but this was lovely! Good job really as Hubby and I both have it for lunch again tomorrow!) - Longlife egg noodles, Birds Eye Thai stir fry veg (bamboo shoots, broccoli, green beans, baby corn), onion, garlic, chilli, tofu, soy sauce, 5 spice seasoning and Ayam Light Sweet Chilli sauce which is free!

Snacks:
Fruit salad (Strawberries, Blueberries, grapes), SW muffins (syns taken on Saturday) - I need to eat something else to up my syns for today, maybe chocolate or something, mmmmm!

Drinks:
Coke Zero, Water, medium skinny Cappucino (HEA for SS milk) with 1 sugar (1 syn)

Total Syns:
1tsp sugar (1 syn), 1 tbsp Nando sauce (0.5 syn) = 1.5 syns - so far - to be added!

So I've come down with an awful cold, which isn't good in 28 degree temperatures! I left work early today and went home and slept, I really feel awful! It's 8pm here now so I think I am going to write up this diary, take a night cold & flu tablet and take myself off to bed.

I'm feeling sorry for myself as it's my birthday on Saturday so I am hoping I am feeling better by then!

Wednesday 7th January

Breakfast:
30g Sultana Bran (HEB) and 50ml SS milk (part HEA), banana

Lunch: Leftover chow mein from last night

Dinner: 2 Quorn burgers (1 syn), SW wedges made with Nando's Chip Sprinkle, 45g Lactose Free cheese (1 HEA and 3 syns), Ayam Sweet chilli sauce (free)

Snacks: 2 Nectarines, orange

Drink: Water, soda water, medium cappucino & 1 tsp sugar (1 syn)

Syns: 2 Quorn Burgers (1 syn), 1tsp sugar (1 syn), 15g cheese (3 syns) = 5 syns
 
Today was a sick day for me, I felt awful when I woke up so I called in sick, I slept until 10.30am and so missed breakfast.

I have made myself a chocolate chia pudding to try, using chia seeds, cacao powder, almond milk and sugar free maple flavoured syrup, I'm hoping that it will be nice and I'll try it for breakfast tomorrow!

Thursday 8th January


Lunch:
2 slices Country split wholemeal bread (HEB) with 2 slices Liddell's colby cheese slices (HEA + 2 syns)

Dinner:
2 Quorn fillets, 1/2 packet Uncle Ben's Mexican Rice (2 syns), 1 tbsp Nando's mariande (0.5 syn)

Snacks:
2 Nectarines

Drink:
Soda water

Syns:
Colby cheese slice (2 syns), 1/2 packet Uncle Ben's Mexican rice (2 syns), Nando's marinade (0.5 syn) = 4.5 syns
 
So it is Day 1 of my birthday celebrations! As I stated in my previous posts, the Aussie's are known for their morning teas so to celebrate my birthday tomorrow my workmate made me a banana bread with lemon frosting, it was delicious!

This evening there are a group of us going out after work for a few drinks and tomorrow which is my actual birthday I am taking my children out for lunch and then my Hubby is taking me for dinner. According to the health tracker app I have been using I haven't been eating enough calories so at least I will this weekend, although I am trying to stay on plan as much as possible :) I have my first WI tomorrow so we will see how I get on!


Friday 9th January


Breakfast:
30g Lowan Muesli with 50ml of SS milk (part HEA)

Lunch:
1/2 packet Uncle Ben's Spicy Rice (2 syns), Mini Babybel (HEA)

Dinner:
Vegetables in filo basket

Snacks:
Banana, Oranges, slice of banana bread (10 syns)

Drink:
Soda water, Water, Coffee (rest of HEA for SS milk), Coke Zero, Vodka, lime & sodas

Syns:
Slice of Banana bread (10 syns), 1/2 packet Uncle Ben's Mexican rice (2 syns)= 12 syns - so far!

First WI and I lost 2kg which is 4.4lb! I was so chuffed I hopped off the scales and back on a few times to triple check, woohoo!!

It's my birthday today so I am probably going to be off plan as we're off out for lunch and then dinner :)

I have planned my meals for this week, dinners are:

Spag bol
Stuffed mushrooms, eggs & tomatoes
Sausage, SW wedges, veg & gravy
Stir fry & egg fried rice
Salmon, new potatoes & veg
Burgers, wedges & veg
 
So yesterday was my birthday, my 2 children didn't understand that Mummy doesn't have a party like they do and they kept asking me if they could come to my birthday party so I took them to soft play! I had lunch there which was a cream cheese (philly), cheese, onion and caper open grill so on 2 thick slices of white bread with a few chips.

For dinner my Hubby took me to a gorgeous restaurant not far from where we live and I had Halloumi for starters and then this amazing grilled Barramundi (white fish) with a salsa verde and chickpeas, whilst it wasn't completely SW friendly, it was as good as I could do. Then we skipped dessert although I did have a Cosmo cocktail and a few vodka, lime & sodas!

Anyway I was back to it today, here's what I have had today:

Sunday 11th January

Breakfast:
2 Slices Country split bread (HEB), 1 tsp Nuttelex spread (1 syn), poached egg, 2 Liddell's Colby Cheese slices (HEA + 2 syns), baby spinach

Dinner: Quorn minceSpag Bol - I was sly here, my 6yo hates mushrooms and onions and my 3yo hates anything green so I put onions, mushrooms, passata, tinned tomatoes, broccoli, cauli, garlic and basil in a food processor as whizzed up my own sauce! I then did it with the veggies which they do like which are sweetcorn and carrots, mwahahaha! :p Served with 30g Liddell's Lactose free cheese (HEA)

Snacks: Nectarine, small handful of M&M's (5 syns)

Syns: 1 tsp Nuttelex (1 syn), Colby cheese (2 syns), small handful of M&M's (5 syns) = 8 syns

Breakfast: 60g Sultana Bran (HEB*2) and 50ml SS milk (part HEA)

Lunch:
2 Quorn Burgers (1 syn), Steamfresh Veg (Broccoli, peas and sweetcorn) and 1 tbsp Nando's Marinade (0.5 syn)

Dinner:
Omelette Pizza (why have I only just discovered this?!) with 3 eggs, 1 tbsp pizza sauce (1 syn), mushrooms, tomatoes, onion, baby spinach with 30g Liddell's cheese (HEA) and 4 baby potatoes

Snacks:
SW mini quiches (made with Weightwatchers cottage cheese, 3 eggs, onion, sweetcorn and 2 Sanitarium smoked slices (syns for slices taken yesterday), 1/4 banana (another gross one!), nectarine, grapes & blueberries, Funsticks (4 syns)

Syns:
2 Quorn burgers (1 syn), 1 tbsp Nando's marinade (0.5 syn), 1 tbsp pizza sauce (1 syn), Funsticks (4 syns) = 6.5 syns

Do you weigh yourself or do you go to a class. I know they don`t to SW down there but I just was interested.

Also Sara what is a omelette pizza please. Sounds interesting.

Thanks for popping by!

I weigh myself at home as they don't have SW here so I just make sure I weigh myself at the same time on the same scales! But we have a SW in Australia group on FB and there's talk about arranging a weekly weigh in and support group near to where I live so I'll see if that comes off. It would be nice to speak to other people as the Aussie's have never heard of Slimming World.

Omelette pizza is using the omelette as a pizza base, I put pizza sauce on (but you could use passata), veggies and 30g cheese and then popped the omelette pan under the grill until the cheese was bubbling! It was really nice and filling :)
 
So I ended up going out for dinner last night with some other Mums as part of my New Years Resolution to make an effort to meet new people, we ended up at a Thai restaurant (which I am not that keen on as I don't like lemongrass) and I was under a bit of pressure to order my food quickly so didn't choose so wisely :( I think I am going to have to be really good for the rest of the week to pull it back, ahhh!

Breakfast: 60g Lowan Muesli (HEB*2) and 50ml SS milk (part HEA)

Lunch:
Uncle Ben's Spicy Mexican Rice (4.5 syns), 1 Babybel (HEA)

Dinner:
Deep fried extra firm tofu (6 syns for oil?), veggie and tofu fried rice (12 syns for oil?)

Snacks:
SW mini quiches (made with Weightwatchers cottage cheese, 3 eggs, onion, sweetcorn and 2 Sanitarium smoked slices (syns for slices taken yesterday), 1 banana, nectarine, grapes & blueberries.

Drinks:
Water & medium skinny Cappucino (rest of HEA for milk) and 1 sugar (1 syn)

Syns:

I got back on the wagon today and really enjoyed it, I had a few too many carbs though so I need to rectify that tomorrow. It was a huge 36 degrees today which is just too hot! We're sitting here tonight with our Air con and fans on!
