My EE Food Diary

Morning All,

This is my second time doing Slimming World. Lost motivation last time and I really think not writing down what I was eating didn't help and I've been reading through the Food Diaries and found so many good ideas. I also think keeping a diary means I can look back on my week and see what I've eaten and if I've used all my syns to see if I have room for a few extra at the weekend!!

Breakfast - Overnight oats (HEB) with Muller Light vanilla yoghurt and fruit.

I buy the bags of frozen mixed fruit from Tesco (90p!!) and mixed this through the oats and yoghurt last night then this morning sliced up a banana and mixed it in. My first time trying overnight oats and have to say they were lovely!

Snack - 'Fun size' Milky Way Magic Stars (3.5 syns? Please advise if this is not correct - found this in another post)

Lunch - Tomato & herb mugshot with 2 Original Ryvitas (1.5 syns each) with 2 light dairylea triangles (HEA)

Dinner - Diet coke chicken with rice (0.5 syns for the rice as using Uncle Ben's long grain rice which is 1 syn for the 250g bag and only using half)

Dinner's currently simmering away lovely making the house smell amazing!

Might have 2 more ryvitas later (3 syns) with 2 dairylea light triangles (second half of HEB)

Total syns - 8.5

Trying to stay under 15 syns unless absolutely neccessary!

Ended up not having Ryvitas with light dairylea triangles and had a toffee Muller Light with sliced banana so total syns for yesterday was 5.5.

I didn't use all of my HEA as I only used 2 light dairylea triangles so I hope that's not a bad thing??

Breakfast - 2 x 400g warburtons wholemeal bread (HEB) toasted with 2 light dairylea triangles (half of HEA)

Lunch - Salad from page 40 of the Food Optimising book! Lettuce, grated carrot, sweetcorn (didn't add in the cooked pasta, cucumber or kidney beans) topped with 20g low chedder (second half of HEA) with 1 tbsp Lighter than Light mayo (0.5 syns) with fat free natural fromage frais and some chopped herbs drizzled over the top.

Dinner - not sure what I'm having yet, not feeling 100% so might just be more salad! Will have a look through the threads on here for inspiration.

Snack - toffee Muller Light yoghurt

Trying to up my water intake as normally drink diet irn bru or diet coke so having cups of water throughout the day.

I always struggle with my HEXA allowance, usually ends up to be too much milk or cheese. My consultant told me not to worry as it's only an allowance, you don't have to use it all. I am also allowed to use part on milk and part on cheese or whatever as long as you measure it all correctly, so you might find that handy if you want milk for tea etc.

I am also a diet coke girl and finding it difficult to drink alot of water, other than the past few days as I haven't been well, which I see you are also feeling a bit off, so hope you feel better soon and keep at it.

I rarely drink tea but when I do I like it milky so I'll need to be careful with the amount!

I think I'm drinking more water cause I'm not feeling great so I hope I can continue as I've ran out of fizzy juice in the house so maybe this will even save me some money haha.

Hope you feel better soon! Normally when I'm ill I want to eat everything in sight but for some reason I'm barely eating and happy to have healthy options.

Hi, just been having a read through :) I had restarted this week. Are you going to a group or doing it from home? I have re joined just to get back into it then I'll probably go it alone!

Reading through ugh some diaries to get some food inspiration. Also feeling unwell, full of cold and not really wanting to eat but making sure I do or I'll feel worse and eat rubbish!

good luck :)

I'm doing it from home. The first time I started Slimming World I went to a group just to get the gist of it but I didn't really enjoy how the consultant goes round everyone and asks about your week etc. Plus I think it's silly to pay £5 a week to get weighed when I've got scales in the house and all the info I need online!

I'm not saying no one should go to a group, it's just whatever works for you. This is the first time I've kept a food diary and I think it'll make such a difference and help keep me on track.

It's a horrible time of year, everyone seems to be ill! I had the sickness bug a couple of weeks ago given to me by my lovely 18 month old niece and then this weekend she gave me the cold! Think I just need to avoid toddlers haha.

i find the groups quite painful, especially when the same ppl dominate it each week. I used to go to a group with 3 much older ladies that had been members for years. The talk was literally them talking about going to the seaside and eating fish and chips and waffles, then being confused why they hadn't lost weight for 3 years! The guy that does my new group seems great and has a realy good reputation but it was still fairly painful! Since sat I've had 4 texts from him plus a letter in the post!!!!

I think i will go for about 6 weeks ish then do it from home, you're right it's expensive just to stand on the scales and I resent paying if I don't stay for group!

Decided since I've been good today I'm gonna have pizza!

Slimming world version obviously haha. Warburtons square wrap (8 syns) topped with passata, chicken, onion, peppers and 25g low cheddar (4 syns) with a lovely side salad.

Probably have a toffee Muller Light yoghurt with sliced banana for pudding!

Total syns - 12.5

Can you carry syns over from the previous day(s)?

Wednesday -

Breakfast - Overnight oats (HEB) with mixed fruit

Lunch - Salad with 40g low cheddar (HEA) and 1 tbsp of lighter than light mayo (0.5 syns) mixed in with fat free natural fromage frais. Yummy!

Dinner - I'm still not feeling 100% so it will be something quick like beans on toast (2 x 400g warburton's wholemeal at 2.5 syns per slice) and the usual fruit and yoghurt for pud!

My diary has been so boring so far but because I'm not well I just don't have the motivation to cook! Bought a slow cooker a couple of weeks ago and used it nearly everyday until I fell ill, so hoping I get better soon so I can get cooking!

Ok, I'm not going to lie, last night for dinner I completely blew it.

Started feeling better yesterday afternoon then came the munchies. Then came the text from Dominos offering 50% off. Dinks & Dominos = fail.

So I did it :cry:and I'm not going to lie it was amazing. As soon as I finished it I regretted it.

Drawing a line under that, had my blow out, won't happen again.

Ok, so my diet fell flat mid February and put all the weight back on plus more :(

My partner and I have booked a holiday for next June and I feel like this is the motivation I need.

Re-started on 11/05 and have lost 5lb so far. This time round I am exercising most days which I hope will help. I've heard your body retains water when you exercise to support your muscles but I hope once my body is used to it my losses will increase.

Today for breakfast I have overnight oats

Lunch was diet coke chicken leftover from last nights dinner with salad

Dinner 2 burgers (no roll) with bacon and SW chips with homemade cajun ketchup.

Snacks - Grapes

Wednesday

Breakfast -
Toasted wholemeal sandwich thin (HEB) with light philadelphia and chives (HEA) Handful of grapes

Lunch - Chilli and a vanilla mullerlight yoghurt

Dinner - Burger made with 5% mince, tomato puree, mixed herbs and seasoning with SW chips and a side salad

Any syns will be added later :)
